November '08 ~ What Do You Mean It's Over? Should we plan another???

Good morning November disney buddies! DBF went to do a side job early this morning so i've been up thinking about WDW so i decided to come on the DIS :surfweb: Also I would just like to announce that I have 195 days to... which means only 15 more days until i can make ADR's!!!   :cool1: :cool1: :woohoo: :woohoo:
thanks for the ADR tip N10CJT!! I did not know that about eating in the park! Good to know since I can make my ADR's very soon!
Anyone got any ideas on where DBF and I should go?? We were doing alittle bit planning the other night but its hard for him to process making ADR's 6 months out... he just doesn't understand... anyway he was to do le cellier and Coral reef but where else??

If you're considering the Extra Magic Hours, you can go by the October ones that are currently available on the Disney website, they're almost certain to be essentially the same days of the week. Just move the Magic Kingdom evening hours from Sunday to Monday night when there's a party.
As for the hours that the parks will be open, I would suggest using last November's schedule are a guide. It won't be dead on equivalent, but it'll help you in the absence of the official 2008 times.
Remember, too, that you can schedule a breakfast in the parks before the official openings, and they will let you stay to finish your meal if your dinner extends beyond the official closing.
Hope that helps some!

Thanks for the information, I can actually put a temporary plan together based on that. Where did you get that info from about using October? WDW travel?

I need more info from you based on the length of your stay, parks you are doing, your age range, is it just the two of you?

I think you should do Tony's in Magic Kingdom. Try for a time before Spectromagic Parade and ask for a table with a view of the castle. The parage goes by the rest. and then you can finish dessert while watching Wishes.

Anyone up for sharing their plans so far?? My ADR time is gonna be before the Novemeber schedule is out so I need a good plan for figuring out my day-to-day itinerary and planning out our meals. I've got nuttin' so far. I keep stressing over this so it's back to the drawing board for me. :scared1:

I will be making my ADR's probably before the EMH are released too :( My trip starts October 28th.

We are there for nearly 3 weeks so I have a list of ADR's

Tusker House B
LTT D
Cape May D
Chef Mickeys B
Le Cellier D
Garden Grill
Boma B
WCC D
Ohana D
Crystal Palace B
Dinosaur restaurant when announced hopefully :)
Cape May B
Boma D
Mama Melroses
Chef Mickey D
Playhouse Dinner B
Ohana B

It seems like loads but I want to make sure we have 1 sit down meal a day with DS (age 2)

Well, I have been busy.:upsidedow

Notice the new ticker............:rotfl:

THAT"S how I'm passing the time until the October/November trip... we leave in 23 sleeps for a last minute trip to the World.

Un-freakin-believable. Never thought I could throw a trip together so fast in my life time!:goodvibes

It was DH that on just Monday said to me that he needed a vacation, and that he wanted to go to WDW for a quick get away.:scared1:

So we leave May 13, coming back on the 18th. No kids. Staying at ASMu- it was all I could get for relatively cheap.

Anyone stayed there before???

Jo

My family and I (there will be six of us) will be visisting the world Nov 21st thru the 30th. We will be staying at POFQ! Woot!

.

We will both be 22... and its just us. We will be there nov. 2-7th and we are planning on visiting all the parks. We will be staying at the AKVs. I think i'm going to toss that idea around of tony's at the magic kingdom with DBF. That might be a good idea! Do you happen to know of somewhere in EPCOT we can eat and watch illuminations at the same time?

I need my November buddies!!!

DBF and I were just out to dinner and we were talking about our vacation. DBF (who is never really into the whole planning thing) asked "so exactly how long will we be there for?" So i told him and i made the little comment that we would only be there for 4 full days... Well guess what he said???.... How about we make it a week!   :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: I couldn't stop smiling the rest of dinner! So instead of Nov2-7 We would be there Oct 31 - Nov 7!!!!

So I have some questions... we would be doing a split stay... i've never done this before. We rented DVC points for our ressie at the AKV and from what i've seen so far with my 5 mins of research DVC points double for weekends and it would get kind of pricey. We were interested in a MOD resort... maybe CSR... what do you guys think??

Another question is how does the ME work for a split stay? I know once i booked my flights i was supposed to let the women who rented me her DVC points from know so that she could set it up. So now do i just tell her my returning flights and give my arrival flight information to the MOD resort? Can i do that?

And one more question... Its only DBF and I and we are pretty good about packing only what we need but do you think it would be easy to just take our luggage from the MOD to AKV using Disney buses? I don't think it would be that big of a deal since its just us too.

Any help you guys can give me would be much appreciated! :worship:

I'm not real sure about your questions, but Yay! you get to be there longer! I do have a question for you. How do you go about renting points from someone?

No problem figment fan, glad I could help!
My girlfriend and I had breakfast with my mother last November at Crystal Palace before the Magic Kingdom opened. It was tough getting up and making it over there so early, but it was really cool to be in the park before the rope drop. We got some beautiful photographs of a near-empty main street all decorated for Christmas (and some not so beautiful photos of ourselves half-asleep)!

You're welcome! I'm in pretty solid with the Mouse.....
Ha ha actually no, I know this from a bit of logical deduction, last year's experience, and bits of information from those in the know. Ha ha I'm a scholar, I can't help but put these puzzles together!
Anyway, for planning purposes, Disney doesn't like to change the dates of the extra magic hours. They've already released the dates for the parties, and for the most part they correspond with last year's. And since the extra hours for October fall on the same days as they did last year (again, essentially equivalent to November), you can feel pretty confident that they'll correspond again this year. There's always the chance that Disney makes some radical change, but I would be stunned, particularly since Thanksgiving is always on a Thursday and Disney wants to keep their schedule around the holiday as is.
The only tricky part is Hollywood Studios, but work off this assumption: If there's a party on Sunday night, the Magic Kingdom's extra magic evening hours will move to Monday, and the Studios' will drop back to Sunday night (basically, they switch slots).
Also, the Magic Kingdom will close at 7.00 on party nights, but plan ahead, because it's a madhouse outside the park before these events.
And the parties will generally not affect the distribution of morning hours.
Glad to be of assistance, though. Have fun with your preliminary planning!

Sounds like fun, Jo, what a great way to pass the time! :rotfl2:
I'm a bit jealous, but Jen and I will be in Cape Cod when you're down there, so I can't complain!
Have a great time!

Music is nice. It's a bit aged, but it's nice. We had to stay there when Disney changed my ressie without my knowledge, long story.

We were comped one night at All Star Movies, the night before our ressie actually started. What's nice about the All Stars is the Themes. They are just incredible. You'll like it for the price.

For some reason Cantina de San Angel is coming to mind. Let me check...... I've never eaten there, but my pass porter says "Enjoy a cold beer or margarita at the bar or watch IllumiNations from a logoon-side table." There you go! They serve Tacos and burritos.

I have to give up the puter, but I'll add my 2 cents later. Sorry.

hello people! How is the planning going. No real planning going on here the past couple weeks. But DH did inform me he really does not wanna be in a car 12-14 hour, so I am hoping I get a good Ding rate from Southwest. I have never flown. Neither has my youngest DS. My other two children have gotten to fly is a small cessna plane (its a field trip they do in 4th grade...so DD just went in October). Dh has flow in an Army plane. When I informed the kids I was gonna try to get a good rate and us fly and it only take an hour as apposed to 12 hours my youngest got teary eyed and said he didn't wanna die on a plane... :scared1: Not sure where he got that from. So I explained we would only be on the plane a couple hours and that planes are very safe so I think I have his calmed down about it. I never expected him to react like that :guilty:

Right now you can only book southwest through October 30th. We will still have to drive 2 hours to get to the airport though because Southwest doesn't fly out of the one an hour away. But my sister leaves 20 minutes away from the one a couple hours away so we might would drive to her house the night before and sleep there. We will see. And it all depend on if we get a good deal on tickets anyways.

Hey Bama, I have never flown either. My first time will be Oct. 31. I am scared to freakin death!! I got a good deal through Northwest $200 round trip. Everytime I think about flying I get teary eyed. I'm just that scared.

Also, this weekend my daughter and I made an executive decision to CANCEL the DDP. I just hate being tied down. I don't have a problem with counter service meals. We will also be there for the end of the F&W Festival and I want to hit that up.

I just changed my mind about driving too. I have done it a few times, but I just don't want to this year. When I drive us to Disney it would be just me and the kids. It would take me two days because I can't drive through. So that means stopping and unloading suitcases and loading them up again. I would have to spend money to stay in a hotel for two nights. The night we travel, and the night before we would check-in.

So.... flying would just be so much better instead of driving by myself with my 4 kids, and spending money on gas and food and two hotel rooms.

Plus, my mom and step-dad and brother are also going with us and they would rather fly than drive too.

I really hope they have some good prices on tickets. I read someone somewhere on here where a bunch of people got 15% off on there roundtrip tickets the other day when Southwest released their new dates through Oct. 30. It was through that Ding from Southwest, so I am going to download that and hope that something like that is offered again.
