November '08 ~ What Do You Mean It's Over? Should we plan another???

I've been trying to think of ways to pass the time here, too. It's officially 195 days, 21 hours, and 5 minutes until we leave. It seems like a lifetime from now. Like most of you, I hate wishing the time away but I don't have much going on to pass those long days. Oh well, I'm just relying on all of you to keep me sane until it's time to go. Until then, I'll just hang around here and plan plan plan. :

I'm passing time by thinking of ways to save money. I quit smoking yesterday so that should be $140/month. I'm going to start making little crafty things to sell at work. Much as I am dying for this vacation, I'm not ready for winter again. Another thing you can do is print off a closed trip report. Spend your extra time reading those. You can pick up little things you didn't know from them.

I think i'll feel better once it is summer... I love summers up here and i definatly won't want to wish it to go by faster than it has to... so once we get to memorial day i'll be alright. :goodvibes

When we go for walks, we pick up pop cans to return. We have a box full in the garage. We also pick up the plastics to recycle. That drives me crazy. There are so many water bottles all over the place.

All of our loose change goes into a can. That's usually the kids spending money.

I also use My points to shop on line. You earn points for shopping for things you normally would, and then you redeem points for like gift cards. I've gotten one before for $50.00 and I have enough for one of those again.

I do surveys too that I earn points that you can redem for money. They send you checks.

Congratulations on quit smoking. :cheer2: :cheer2:

:cool1: :cool1: Congratulation on quitting smoking. Hang in there, they say the first 3 days are the hardest. Drink lots of water.

I quit once for 5 years and then gave in when life got a little stessful. I want to quit again but for some reason it has been harder to quit the second time.

Congratulations from me too on quitting smoking. I understand what you mean about winter. I grew up in Michigan. I live in Tennessee now. I don't ever miss Michigan weather. (well, sometimes I do like Christmas Day when there's no snow)

I am trying to save money too. I just spent $240 on a Maclaren double stroller to take to Disney. It came in already, and it is really nice. There was no way I was going to pay the price to rent a double stroller at Disney. So in the long run that saved me a lot of money.

I am giving my kids extra money for behavior, chores, etc.... to save for Disney. That way they will have money for pins and souveniers. They are funny because whenever we go to stores they check all the soda machines for change. They always find a lot. So we have our change jar too.

I also am starting to put money in tip envelopes for tipping housekeeping. We are staying in a Family Suite, and I really feel they need to be tipped every day. I want those filled up way before we go.

I also buy things that I think we will need, but usually only if I find it on sale. The other day I got the twins these Playhouse Disney Art Desks at Target. They are really cute and nice. They have 50 feet of coloring pictures, crayons and markers. They were on sale for $7.

I have a big basket of stuff I have been buying here and there. I would rather spend a little bit at a time on things we need, than spend a whole lot at once right before we go.

I have been buying as I go too. It sure will help when trip time comes and we don't have to go out and get all tis stuff.

Go to the budget board freebie threads and there's always stuff you can sign up for like shampoo samples, laundry detergent samples, and I use those.

I just noticed that you live in Hawai'i! The way I see it, the longer the days in Hawai'i the better! :goodvibes

We just booked our trip for Nov. 17-23rd. It will be us and five other families going together-22 so far.:scared1: A lot of planning for us to do, but I can't wait! It was so beautiful last year seeing all the Christmas decorations, and the castle looked so beautiful.

I´ve found a way to make the time go faster. ;)
I´m booking a trip to Denmark end of June/July :)

Congratulations on quit smoking. :cheer2: :cheer2:
Thanks so much! Encouragement is exactly what I need. I'm about ready to roll up my patch and smoke it!

That's where I am today, day 3. I feel like I am walking around like a zombie. I want one sooooo bad. Someone told me I should buy those fake cigarettes, but I don't think that would help very much. Seems like the habit is worse than the addiction.
I quit once for 5 years and then gave in when life got a little stessful. I want to quit again but for some reason it has been harder to quit the second time.
You will when you are ready. People have been telling me to quit for years. The clincher was when my son told me he had a dream I died. He said he went around school beating kids up and crying. I felt so bad for him. I don't want him to ever feel that pain, especially in real life.

Thanks so much. Global warming hasn't touched Michigan that's for sure. I love it here in the summer.

It's too bad people couldn't start a stroller swap, like the refrigerator swap. I'm glad I am out of the stroller age. I think Disney went way overboard on that one.

Under 200 days sure sounds good doesn't it!!!

Only 2 weeks for May 1 and November's hours. I sure am starting to get anxious. I always made our trips below the 180 day mark, so I never had this waiting time for making ADRs. We will be having 9 in our party, so I am hoping I don't have any trouble with seating.

I have also decided to go to the first MVMCP on the 10th. There is one on the 11th too, but that is Veteran's Day. I figured that one might be more busy. I am excited because we have never been to any of the parties.

I will jump in the anxious boat. I have all my plans made. ADRs picked. Just waiting for the day to call, May 12th. I hope all the days I thought would be green days still will be. I don't want to change anything now! You guys under 200 are so lucky. I'm at 206.

I am not under 200 yet... it just sounded good. :)

I get to call on May 13th.

How do you know your ADRs when hours aren't out yet? I guess that's why I am anxious. I don't know how to plan my days without the hours, and I don't know how to do ADRs without hours.

It is fun going with your friends. We started out going with two other families, then it turned to three last year, now it looks like we'll have 5 or 6 families total. I messed up on my dates when I posted them last night-we're going Nov. 24-30th (week of Thanksgiving). We went last year at Thanksgiving and had a blast!

I am right there with you. I feel like the hours not being posted are holding me up.If they just post the hours all my planning will fall in to place and some how it will be time to go!!!
