November '08 ~ What Do You Mean It's Over? Should we plan another???

Just this last January I was thinking I've got to wait 9 months for Sept. vacation but then in no time at all we are in March! Just lost 2 months ZAPPP!!! Just keep visiting this site at night and it will help!!!!

I was just wondering if any of you are planning on going to waterparks? I know we are going in November, but I have read that it is warm enough.

I just read on one thread that they are going to be closing a waterpark down for refurb in October through the end of the year. I am disappointed about this.

The last 2 times we went, we went the first week of Nov and we did go to Blizzard Beach.. it was warm each time.. i want to say about 80. Kids are wanting to go to TL this time though.

I'm so glad to hear this. I have never been in November, but was hoping it would be warm enough to do the waterparks.

My kids are wanting to do TL too, but I am worried that it will be the one closed for refurb because I think BB has been closed and is opening soon. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

We (Dh and I) are taking the kids up to Chattanooga, Tn this weekend for a small weekend trip. They have been wanting to go to the aquarium so we are going up this weekend. Hopefully this small weekend trip will get my mind off Disney for a little while anyways.

Ive started up my pre-trip report just giving me somewhere to jot down ideas and plans that are very much subject to change.

I also got all my written confimation trhough today which makes it all seem a lot more real and made me get all excited again!!


On the weather front we went last r nov 5th to 19th and we swam most day at the hotel and spent a day at BB, TL was closed. a few locals told us we were made for swimming as it was cold but i told them the weather was hotter than we had had all summer !!!!! It did get cold in the evenings so we always had a jumper and blanket handy and they were needed. The night we went to the MVMCP the shops were seeling out of jumpers and coats on Mainstreet as it was down to below 40 degrees!!!

I called last week to ask if they had the dates for the MVMCP yet and they said no... they probably wouldn't have them for a while.

We did not get the water park option and will just use the Hotel pool. But I bet there will be a few great days to go to the water parks!!!!

I didn't get the waterpark option because I don't think the kids are ready for it. I don't think they will want to go down any of the big slides. Is anyone going to do Universal Studios? My husband wants to go there for a day. I;m not sure about it.

We have been to Universal once for one day and really enjoyed it. I don't know if we will go this trip, but they are running a special on tix right now...

I have midterms this week.

Then a nice break next week.

heehee, look, my ticker says 7 months. When I first got one it was like 13 months away WOOHOO!!!!!!!

We're not sure if we're getting the water park option on our passes. We did the last time and never used them. I guess this time it depends on the weather AND if we can lose the weight we've been trying to lose. Believe me, none of you want to see either of us in a bathing suit! *I* don't even want to see myself in a bathing suit!!! I think I'm going to get back over to the W.I.S.H. thread and get some moral support there...I KNOW I'll feel so good about losing weight, it's just so hard to resist CHOCOLATE, though!

Oh man, don't even get me started on the losing weight thing. I just started goin to the gym again this week. I have been having medical probs since last August and haven't had the strength to walk or run or anything. I will support you if you'll support me!

Have fun at the aquarium!! It is about 2 hours from me. We haven't gone in awhile, but my kids love going to Chattanooga. They love the kid's hands-on museum there too.

I probably will be going to a MVMCP when we are at Disney. It is a hard decision to make about spending extra money. Does anyone know the cost of the parties? My older boys will be considered "adults" this trip. So it will be 4 Adults/2 kids. Everyone says how great these parties are, so it might be something that shouldn't be missed.

We are going to do the museum also. We decidd the kids would love to stay in a train car at the Chatanooga Choo choo, so we reserved on of them.

As far as the parties go, I know they usually have prices listed on Disney's website.

I'm so excited about the MVMCP! I know the dates aren't official, but I really had no idea it would even be an option to go in November! I would go on Nov. 21, the day we arrive. We did the Pirate and Princess Party last year and my kids loved it. It is expensive, but they really enjoyed it and the crowds weren't too bad. It might be different for this though. My DS8 was a dancing fool at all of the dance parties going on around the kingdom.

We will be at POFQ Nov.21-26. If MVMCP is on the 21st we will be there too. We did the PPP in Feb. our first night there and loved it so much, we were going to buy tickets again for later in our stay, but my son got sick the night of the Super Bowl and we had to cut the stay short and go home. Found out when we got home he and my DW had the flu. . So we are doing a makeup trip the weekend before Thanksgiving.
