November '08 ~ What Do You Mean It's Over? Should we plan another???

Jo that's so cool you get to go there. There's always a first which is always followed by a second and so on!

Hahaha, kind of like the but followed by the however.:lmao:

Thanks for all the congrats, ya'll!
I am so excited and scared a bit.
We'll be going for DH's conference for work, but go a few days early or stay a few days later.
It's going to be a very bare bones trip...I have to save up for the October trip to WDW.
We will stay at a Mariott hotel on points that DH has, and probably I will use FF miles for my plane ticket. Dh's will be paid for. HOWEVER (;) ) I did look on SW and they have tix going for $144 one way. Not too bad! BUT (;) ) we will renta car, so that will take a bit of money.

Okay, on to October...
what have you done this week to get ready?
um, let's see...
Oh, I ordered a Tinkerbelle outfit for MNSSHP for Belle, my littlest. DS will be Captain Hook. again.
I also got some great deals on Disneyshopping for Tinkerbelle gifts for the kids.

I am thinking the trip won't be a surprise much longer, not with us going to DL without them. There's only so much disappointment I can take looking into their little faces. I crumble.:cloud9:

Oh well, we will at least keep the Football game from them as a surprise. That will be fun.

Jo

Ok I did it, took the last 2 nights off POR and added to CR.

I am veeeeerrrryyyy excited about this!

Lucky thing you!!! Have you ever stayed at CR? Did you use a pin code?

Can't wait to hear all about it...

I've just been dabbling with plans this week. I am seriously considering letting DD pick a pearl at Epcot and have it made into something. She will really love that.

whoops, I didn't mean to post that, I wasn't finished.

I have went back to school so I have been so busy with school work, I haven't had a lot of time to plan other stuff. DH is also in school, so add our 3 kids and its hard when all 5 members of a family are in school.

My big thing to get ready this week has been to find a replacement. DD2's boyfriend is no longer allowed to accompany us on our trip so she needs to find another friend to come along. Hopefully that will work itself out shortly.

She shouldn't have too much trouble finding a replacement...I know all my kids friends would jump at the chance.

She has asked someone else, who has never been to WDW before, we're now waiting for the parent phone call. Missing a week of school is a big deal to some (this is why the boyfriend is no longer allowed to come along as he'll be missing a week in September already). The bigger deal is we are asking the friend to pay most of their own way. Now if she absolutely can't find a friend who can do that, we'll cover it so she can have a buddy. DD1 is bringing her boyfriend, who has also never been to WDW, but he's more reliable. He's been around for 4 years and is 21.

It drives me a little nuts because I'm a big planner and plan everything way in advance. I'm annoyed by this bump in my smooth-plan road :rotfl:

Okay JoBird what is your costume going to be for MNSSHP???
holy cow, don't push me over the edge, now.:lmao: I can only take so much planning in one week. :rotfl: I don't even know?????

I haven't done this, but I think it would be so nice to do. She would love it, I'm sure.

I'm with you, sister! Totally type-A personality...everything straight months in advance. This would drive me nuts too.

Hey, I know, I don't have to miss a week of school, I'll be her buddy.:rolleyes1

Ha.

Hello all! Well, it seems like some of us have been busy little bees! I, personally, have not done a thing with Disney since the Holidays and I am starting to get a little stressed. I am also a planner, and I want to KNOW what I am doing! Time is also ticking by to save money. I'm getting there slowly, but things happen, as we all know. BUT, we WILL be going, and that's what matters!

I love the tip of the day idea, Jo! Here's mine (taken from research only):

Take advantage of fastpasses!

TOTD: Fastpasses DO NOT expire.

I stayed at the contemporary when I was young with my family. So it's been some years since I've been there, 23 years to be exact.

Lots of memories for me and I know my family will love it! I just hope 2 days will be enough, for me.:rolleyes1

firechick ~ I can totally relate to the money saving. It sucks. Where are those money trees I hear so much about? :lmao:

monymony3471 ~ a friend of mine stayed at the Contemporary recently and just raved about it. One day I'll try it out myself since it sounds so lovely!

Disney here we come! It's gonna be a cousin marathon! We are going to be there from 11-15-08 to 11-22-08. We are renting a home! I have so many questions. We have never been in November. We usually go in May! It's nice to know there are other people just as crazed....November is soooo far away!

Welcome to this merry group:thumbsup2

Yes i want to know where these so called money trees are if anyone finds one give me a shout.:lmao:
Saving for these WDW trips can seem very hard work at times , but if it starts to get to me i just remind myself that at the end of it all i get to cuddle goofy again :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

TOTD: This came from my PassPorter: Line the bottom of your suitcase with a garbage bag, place everything inside and wrap one around the top. Keeps everything dry and the bags can double as a laundry bag.

Or: Bring an extension cord or power strip for charging all the electronics. Sometimes there are not enough outlets for the phones, cameras, laptops, kids games or ipods etc.

Has anyone gotten the planning DVD? How long does it take to get? It seems like forever to me. Seriously. At least a month.

2wins I think you are going to love going in November.

Dawn: There's no doubt in my mind I'm gonna love CR.

Morning everyone. How's the planning? My PassPorter Deluxe came the other day. I loved using it last trip. This time I got the deluxe since I know it will be used again and again.

Hey guys, totally off topic from DW but look what it did here tonight...Remember I am in North Alabama and this doesn't happen often:

And yes, it was just an inch, but we take what we can get. It did turn to rain over night so its almost all gone, but here are some photos of the kids having fun:

Oh wow! I just noticed that in 6 days my ticker will say 9 months and so many weeks instead of 10 months. Makes it feel so much closer when the month number changes...LOL

Okay, my TOTD: If you have a laptop bring it so if you plan to head back to your room for a break, you can use a little bit of the break to go ahead and put your photos on a CD so you don't risk losing them off your camera on accident. Then you have a back up CD if something happens to your camera.

I'm so happy y'all got to see snow. I know that doesn't happen often down south. However, I'm in PA and we're due for a storm of some kind today. The weather man can't decide so he's saying a mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain. Oh goody. :scared1: Just what I love to drive in.

I need to look at my passporter again. I've checked it but it doesn' really have anything to offer me except a place to put my WDW stuff as I get it in the mail.
