Broad Street Run 2026

If anyone knows someone looking to transfer their bib, let me know... I need 2.
If you're not able to find a bib transfer, and you really want to still do the race with your son, I will say I had a wonderful experience last year with the American Cancer Society. They made both the pre and post race portions super smooth.

Sorry to hear you didn’t get in - hopefully you and your son can get in via a bib transfer or charity. I had been proactively looking at the various charities in case I didn’t get in and like with the rD races the minimum fundraising commitments vary but there a few that aren’t too bad in terms of commitment and it’s a good cause. They’re all listed on the Broad Street charities page. Fingers crossed for you!

I can second this. I've run with ACS/Team DetermiNation for Broad before too and it's absolutely worth it. The fundraising requirement is fairly easy ($500 as I recall) and you get access to ACS's tent right by the starting line with its own portajohn, so no getting caught up in the sea of people. Plus it's just a great organization to raise money for.

I’m assuming most of you are Philly locals so maybe someone can help me out. I’m trying to find a Marathon or ultra close to the Philly area sometime around March. I’ve mentioned it in other threads that I’ll be turning 50 in November and would like the Philly Marathon (same week as my b’day) to be my 50th marathon and/or ultra. I need to find two other races between now and then and I’m thinking March and October are my best bets. I already have planned Philly Trail Marathon on 4/11, Broad Street on 5/3, Dirty German (awesome trail race btw) on 5/9, and 1/2 Sauer 1/2 Kraut on 6/6. There’s a 50k that runs down the Schuylkill near Valley Forge on 4/25, but it falls right in the middle of the other races and that seems like a bit too much racing crammed into a short few weeks. If anyone knows of anything in spring and fall please let me know. I’m in Bucks County so the closer the better. There’s one that runs down the canal in Upper Black Eddy/New Hope in the fall and I’m thinking that might be a good choice depending on where it falls on the calendar. Thanks.

hmmmm so I assume you know about the Rocky Run https://rockyrun.com/info/ but that's really close to Philly Marathon.
There are a bunch of races in Washington Crossing, PA on the Delaware Canal towpath there, I think the group is runBucks. They have a Mother's day 10 miler I know and a marathon in the fall. I'm sorry, I don't know exacty when their races are and a Google search isn't helping a ton. That same group has a "grilled cheese run" maybe this is it ? https://runsignup.com/Race/PA/Churchville/GrilledCheeseTomatoSoupRun2017

Edited to add: I run the Philly 10k almost every August. https://www.thephilly10k.com/. The weather can be all over the place but it's usually hot. Not the normal Philadelphia route, it's South Philly which makes it more interesting.

Also: Queen of Prussia 10k! https://runsignup.com/Race/PA/KingofPrussia/QueenofPrussia10K. They give out tiaras as their age group prizes. Love that race.
