Nov/value rates at AKL & Poly

Would like to go to the AKL & Polynesian in Nov but understand there are no discount or AP rates out yet. For those of you that have already booked, could you share what kind of rates you are getting? I'm trying to decide whether I should book now and then try to apply an AP discount or code later on. This is our first time having APs. I realize you aren't guaranteed an AP rate, but I hope to get one. The usual rack rates will be a bit too steep for us. Thanks everyone!

Susie, I am getting ready to call the Beach Club to book a standard room for November. Last year I did the same thing to book the Yacht Club and got a AAA rate. Then, when the AP rates came out I called back and ended up with a Lagoon view concierge room for the same value rate of $289/night. Will let you know what happens later on.

I book my room and then wait until the codes come out. The codes only come out a few months in advance.

OK, just booked the YC for 5 nights from Nov. 6 to Nov. 11 for $289/plus tax for a total of $323.90/night. I was told to definately call back for the AP rate as soon as they release the codes in September. If I am lucky like last year, I will be able to switch to YC waterview concierge at the same great rate......I will keep my fingers crossed. (Nothing at the BC for check in until Nov. 7th so I took the YC instead.)

Also, where can I access the historic rate info on the resorts? I remember some reference to it on earlier threads.

I changed my reservations yesterday from a 2 bd villa at BCV to 2 GV rooms at the Polynesian for Nov. 2-8. I'm pretty sure it's rack rate right now but I'll know for sure when I get the confirmation in the mail in a week or so. It's kind of messy (to me anyway) because my original reservation at BCV was a package and then I changed to a room only reservation, but still have the airport transfers and travel insurance on it I think. I am really, really hoping for some great codes (ap or otherwise) to come out for November because I have my heart set on concierge, but don't dare reserve it until I know the price.

I've got GV Concierge booked at the Poly from Nov 2-5. Its a surprise for DH - he's on his way home from the Gulf so I've done all the planning and told him we're staying in CBR.

I've booked with a DC discount but am hoping for a better AP rate.

Also seriously considering booking one night in WL for Oct 31 for DD1's birthday (we're staying in a villa from Oct 19) but am a bit worried that there'll be no AP rates as its Hallowe'en.
