I discovered these boards from Cruise Critic. I was wondering why those boards were so dead as it relates to Disney Cruise Line. This will be my family's third cruise in two full calendar years. It will be our second Disney Cruise with the first being the Mexican Riveria Wonder Cruise in January of 2012. We live in South Dakota and plan on driving to Galveston too. 17.5 hours one way but frankly our last cruise we drove from Brookings, South Dakota to Minneapolis, Minnesota... flew from Minneapolis, Minnesota to LaGuardia, New York to Miami, Florida... spent the night in Miami, Florida and then were shuttled to the port. All in all it took us nearly 48 hours before we even got on board so I guess 17.5 will be a snap.
So far it is just DW, DS (11), DS (8), DD (6) and myself but I am been working on the in-laws (it would be their first cruise) so we will see. I am not sure I understand what an FE is but we are certainly game for anything. On our last cruise (Thanksgiving 2012) we did a Meet and Greet on the first day and that was fun but then never really did anything thereafter.
We really liked our Thanksgiving cruise last year as our kids only missed two days of school and we only missed three days of work for basically a 10 day vacation. On top of that it forced us to celebrate together the purpose of the holiday. In our (and I am sure everyones) busy life it is easy to forget and what more to be thankful for than a wonderful cruise.
We debated between the Fantasy at the same time and this cruise but at the end of the day it was the unique itinerary and the chance to avoid all the hassles of air travel that got us. See you all on board!
