Nov 23-30, 2013 Disney Wonder 7 night Bahamian Cruise

I discovered these boards from Cruise Critic. I was wondering why those boards were so dead as it relates to Disney Cruise Line. This will be my family's third cruise in two full calendar years. It will be our second Disney Cruise with the first being the Mexican Riveria Wonder Cruise in January of 2012. We live in South Dakota and plan on driving to Galveston too. 17.5 hours one way but frankly our last cruise we drove from Brookings, South Dakota to Minneapolis, Minnesota... flew from Minneapolis, Minnesota to LaGuardia, New York to Miami, Florida... spent the night in Miami, Florida and then were shuttled to the port. All in all it took us nearly 48 hours before we even got on board so I guess 17.5 will be a snap.

So far it is just DW, DS (11), DS (8), DD (6) and myself but I am been working on the in-laws (it would be their first cruise) so we will see. I am not sure I understand what an FE is but we are certainly game for anything. On our last cruise (Thanksgiving 2012) we did a Meet and Greet on the first day and that was fun but then never really did anything thereafter.

We really liked our Thanksgiving cruise last year as our kids only missed two days of school and we only missed three days of work for basically a 10 day vacation. On top of that it forced us to celebrate together the purpose of the holiday. In our (and I am sure everyones) busy life it is easy to forget and what more to be thankful for than a wonderful cruise.

We debated between the Fantasy at the same time and this cruise but at the end of the day it was the unique itinerary and the chance to avoid all the hassles of air travel that got us. See you all on board!

We are so excited to be going on the Thanksgiving Disney Cruise! This will be our 2nd DC. We went last year the week of Halloween from Galveston. It was tons of fun and we are counting down the days to go again. We live in League City which is only 45 minutes from Galveston. I just learned about the FE today and I am super excited! I love crafty stuff! I FE on a few doors on our last cruise, but I didn't know what they were. I think it is a great way to get to know our fellow cruisers. I can't wait to get crafting. I have requested to join the FB page. And I made an FE board on pinterest to keep track of my ideas. I am going to try to be active on this board or at least on FB. This kind of forum is so intimidating. I hope I can find this thread again :)

Oh- we will definitely dress up on pirate night! That was one of our favorite parts of the last cruise!

We will be joining y'all from The Woodlands for Thanksgiving! DH plus DS Will (7) and DS Jack (5). Family from Chicago will also be coming. Our 2nd DC - both from Galveston - both over Thanksgiving!

This close to booking this cruise. We were booked for over a year and a half for the first Fantasy Disney cruise 2012, but we had to cancel last minute due to hubby being in the military and we, after 8 years in NC, had to move to TX during Christmas so we missed out.

This might be our last (second) Disney cruise for us as we have no idea where we will be after this assignment in TX is over. Sad to see Disney leave TX!

Anyways, I saw some videos on youtube, they sailed for Thanksgiving and the ship was all decked out in Christmas decor. (I don't know which ship or where they sailed out of though.)

Either way- we went on a 7 night-er our first time and we had an absolute blast so wouldn't care either way- would just be an extra bonus! I know we could cruise other lines out of Galveston, but it was sooo nice knowing we'd be taken care of, no crazy partying all over the ship, etc. (Well, not the kind we like to do anyways.) Our kids are growing up so very, very fast...

Hope to be officially joining you all very soon! :)

My wife and I just booked today. Last minute addition to our 2013 travel schedule. We couldn't pass up the ability to actually drive to the boat.

Greetings,

We'll be sailing with y'all at Thanksgiving! I've requested to be added to your Facebook group. We'd love to join the FE

Hey everyone! I will be seeing you all on the ship! It will be me and my 2 girls 16 and 12. This will be our 3rd Disney cruise all of them in 2013, 2nd on the Wonder! We were also on the Magic fog delay cruise 1/12/13 and we were on the Wonder in Alaska 7/1/13. Looking forward to this sailing hope they have the decorations up!

We were on that cruise, as well. It was our first ever cruise. This one will be our second. So sad Disney is leaving Houston. I don't understand why they didn't bother to have a boat here during the summer time. You would think those would have been packed. I know I would have been on one.

just booked. . . this will be our family's first time to vacation on thanksgiving so we decided to bring the extended family, which will include my family, my mom, my in-laws, niece, nephew and 90 year old great grandma! looking forward to meeting everyone and joining the FE. (just sent a message to the FB site):cool1:
