Nov. 2011

HI! From another New Orleanian! Have you got a trip planned??

probably Thanksgiving, but waiting to see if there are any discounts... We will probably go regardless, but free dinning or buy 4 get 3 free, or anything else would help!

Come on Disney! Let us know something! I reeeaally want free dining. For me, it's the difference between staying onsite, or staying offsite or at Universal.

My big family LOVES :lovestruc: Disney! But after DDP upgrade and Memories package add ons, we would be paying around $6000 for staying in a value with "free dining." That's our vacation budget and I'm sticking to it. If FD won't be offered, I just want to know, so I can decide where we're going for our Nov. vacation....

Dh's job keeps denying his vacation request. The only time he got approved was right after Thanksgiving. So it looks like we'll be going for the 25th - 29th. How likely is the chance of getting some sort of discount or even FD starting the day after Thanksgiving?

Not before the Sunday after Thanksgiving at the earliest.

I've booked with a 30% off PIN (and don't get me wrong, I am extremely grateful!). But FD will save us about $650 more than the PIN does (we are a family of 5 with two Disney "adults".

So, I am hoping for FD! It would be great for my family.

Im in the same boat - Booked with with % off pin, but hoping for FD, would save us about 320 more, which would cover the gas to get there and back!

Got this from Disney Destination yesterday (inadvertantly posted to Nov 2012 yesterday but filing correct today):

Do you know what the deadline is for that? I remember seeing a similar one but missed the deadline!
And this is not a PIN specific to your name is it?

I apologize that I did not include that info as part of my post. Honestly, the layout of the email made it appear not to be a PIN. I just checked again and had to scroll much lower the area with the information above and sure enough, yes, there is a PIN associated with the offer. Sorry for any confusion I may have caused.

So if people are starting to get pin codes for november dates...how much longer do you think it will be before a public offer comes out? Is there a 'normal' amount of time between the two or is it always different and therefore impossible to perdict?

I got a PIN code for October/November way back in February, so I don't think there is a correlation. Wish there was :confused3

It seems random. We actually got one back in Jan or Feb that would have covered our dates, but it expired before the idea of going back in the fall even crossed our minds.

PINs sometimes seem to be used as trial balloons for broader offerings, so the PINs going out now could mean that Disney hasn't finalized details of a fall offer. But recent PINs seem to be much more targeted than they were in the past, offering a discount for a specific month that a guest has been pricing out or saved offers for, so this might be an entirely new approach.

I think the most likely date to watch is Aug 15 - the Monday after the current room-only offer expires. They may or may not extend free dining before then, but I'm kind of guessing not (sorry, I just think free dining during Food & Wine and the holiday season was too good a deal to last, and an obvious place to start scaling back since there are special events to draw crowds despite higher prices). And since we seldom see one offer released before its predecessor has expired, that is the week to watch in my book.

i would be more than happy with a room only discount.

since right now we are only 2 people and are kind of over the sit down experiences that disney provides for food.

I here what your saying Colleen27.....but the economy is still bad,the repubs and crats can't decide on diddley if it's not what each one wants(never mind the people who put them there),people are still getting layed off all over the place(no more Space Shuttle-gotta pay the Soviets to hitch a ride, but I digress......I am going to go out on a limb again(3 for 3 in my favor),and say Free Dining will happen again this fall-Disney will have to offer something to get the numbers up-it's in the hands of the"bean counters".;) Good numbers=no FD.My money is on it happening;because if not,we won't be able to afford to go.:sad2: I'm quite sure our family is not the only one needing that"lagniappe"in order to seal the deal.;) And there is STILL no Football!!!!!

I received that same PIN, but haven't booked yet. I keep hoping for an AP rate! Starting to think I should book & hopefully be able to change IF an AP comes out! However this is a "girls" trip :dance3: & the ladies are actually thinking of getting a suite at the Dophin!! It looks like a good deal. We women just cannot make up our minds! :rotfl:

Going in December, waiting for fd, already booked room, air lines also, so really can not change dates. Could not beat the air fare, 168.00 round trip. so please come on with the pins. have 5 kids going and 4 adults. Need to save some money. What we save on fd, the kids will spend on trinkets.
