Nov. 2011

We're going in November, too, and we let our PIN expire! Boo! I didn't realize it would expire so quickly, so I am really hoping for another great discount. It's our 15th anniversary and I want it to be special. :goodvibes

Thanks for posting schedule! Now I have an issue. Do we go to MK on EMH PM days or Christmas party days? Which would have the lesser crowds?

If you have park hoppers or don't plan to be in the parks after 7pm, I would definitely go on a party day. I think people might avoid the park because it's closing early. It could start getting busy after 4:00 when the party guests start arriving, but most people don't realize you can get there that early.

Thanks for the update, I had been looking daily, and had looked a couple of hours ago and it wasn't there yet. Now, for the compulsive planning and replanning. :rotfl:

Hi All!!

November hours are up on the TA website:

Happy Planning!! :banana::banana:

I'm assuming the 7pm MK closings are MVMCP nights. Do you think the switch to 8pm DHS closings on Thursday 11/10 indicate the start of the Osborne Lights?

That's a pretty good guess. The Osborne lights started on the 8th of November. Thanks for posting that link! I wasn't expecting EMH on Monday

Well, crowds-wise, the Party days are usually light in our experience, or at least their pretty light until about 4 PM. Then for awhile you get the overlap of the people there for the day and the people for the party, so it gets pretty crowded leading up to the party.

Does anyone have a list of attractions that will be closed during Thanksgiving week?

We're going to pull the kids out of school for a few days (the school gets a whole week for Thanksgiving, so we're going to take an extra 2-3 days for Disney), will the crowds be less if we take those days before Thanksgiving week, or after?

I'm hoping for a great pin code, too! So far, nothing....

Thanks for posting the link! :cheer2: I made a reservation for one of my BFF's and me to do a girls trip this year (first one) and we're headed there 13 Nov - 18 Nov and we're so excited. She lets me do all the planning so I've been waiting on the hours! :) I really hope they keep the Osborne Lights early this year so we can experience them. The first trip as a family was in Nov 08 (this same week) and they didn't start until later than year so we missed them.

I agree with other posters - it's best on a party day. We've done this during two different trips and definitely experienced lower crowds. :thumbsup2

Before I change my schedule around, are these November dates 100% accurate?

Based on past experience...they are accurate as of today, but Disney DOES change the schedules as the dates approach based on booking rates and expected crowds. It's as good as it gets for right now.

Based on my experience the hours on the TA site are accurate. Like the previous poster said, Disney will probably change the hours as we get closer. I'd expect to see some changes in October, but those are usually just tweeks to the hours & parades, Fantasmics, etc.

I'm trying to decide which MVMCP to go to... We arrive Tuesday 11/8 so we won't go that night. The other two options for us are Wednesday 11/9 or Friday 11/11. I'd like to be able to wait & go Friday night but I'm worried that one will be much busier than the Wednesday party due to Jersey week late arrivals & Veteran's Day weekend... What do you all think? :confused3

Reports last year were that traffic on Veteran's Day was very heavy. With it being a Friday this year, I'd choose one of the other nights.

I'm from the UK (so not familiar with veterans day), I'm assuming veterans day is like one of our 'bank holidays', i.e. a public holiday?

If so, does that mean that the shopping malls are closed?

Thanks

Are you going the full Thanksgiving week plus either, say, Thurs/Fri before or Mon/Tues after? If so, I'd say the Thurs/Fri might be a tad slower, but either is fine. The busiest days are going to be Thanksgiving through Sunday with the days before getting steadily busier and the crowds dropping off pretty well on Monday. I guess I'm saying, you could do either. However, if you're interested in doing the Candelight Processional, I'd go for the days after as that doesn't start until the 25th.
