Nov. 2011

Okay fellow DIS'ers! I have a question for you. When you go on WDW's site under specials, where it lists the 3 promotions available down at the bottom you'll see the dates. They show:

**Select dates:
January 2 - February 16, 2011
February 27 - March 10, 2011
May 1 - June 2, 2011
August 14 - November 18, 2011
November 26 - December 22, 2011

But...when I called they told me that none of them apply to November 26-December 22. Well.....why are they listed? Any one have any thoughts on this?

Where are you seeing those dates? I can't find anything like that? Most of the specials seem to end by October 1st. :confused3 Something in November would be nice. :thumbsup2

Those prices don't seem to be specials. I think they are just promoting how much is costs per day at regular rate during that season. I might be wrong, but it sure doesn't look like a savings to me.

You know what...I think you're right! My Bad!! Big Ooops!!

Let's just say it was my subconcious WISHING for a good discount during those time frames! :rotfl:

I agree... It doesn't look like any kind of discount to me - I ran a few reservations and they seem to be rack rate. Not sure why they only list certain dates though?? :confused3

Are those actual discounts or just pricing out what the cost is for a value w/tix &/or quick dining plan? I don't see any discount codes w/them.
All the special offers w/discount codes only go thru Oct. 1st.

Ah, I see others have commented faster than me. They probably list those dates b/c the other dates are holidays & the cost would be much more.

I booked two rooms from November 10-16. Had something unusual happen this time when I talked to reservations. I was asked if my dates were set in stone. and I said not really. I was then offered Coronado one week later for six nights for only $100 more (per room). Even though my dates weren't set in stone, this would have put us a little too close to Thanksgiving so I didn't switch ressies. After booking was complete I asked for another explanation of the Coronado offer. I was told that since I had said no at the beginning, she could not offer the deal again.

Anyone else have this happen to them, and I could now kick myself.

I had something similar happen on Friday. I called on the off chance there was a pin code attached to my name/address, but it just hadn't gotten to my email yet. Gave him dates and where we wanted to stay (WL)......he asked if we were set on WL because a "flex offer" had just popped up on the screen for the Yacht Club --- same nights, $60 more (total), with "free" Quick Service Dining. I booked it because he said once he clicks out of the "flex offer" it doesn't come back.

I later cancelled though - it was still over $300/night, and my DH really doesn't want to stay there. We are trying to go totally budget, and are planning on staying @ Hilton Bonnet Creek through Last Minute Travel for $97/night this time.

Damn, that was a good deal. When we booked our vacation I passed on a flex deal that I wish I would have jumped on. I originally booked AKL and was offered a deal at the Yacht Club. Looking back, I wish I would have just because of the Yacht Clubs location. Since then, I have switched my resort to the WL. That is interesting that they are offering a free dining plan for November.

We always go a week in mid december and I start looking for discounts in the summer. This year we bought an RV and I don't know what to look for in discounts for fort wilderness. we are AP and AAA members.

So, to get the flex offer, I assume you have to call and it won't come up online, right?
