Nov 13, 2010 Western Caribbean Magic Cruise-Check in here!

:)
I have not gotten a response either:confused3. I think we should wait a little bit longer and if we do not hear anything by the 75 day mark try to reorganize. Not trying to step on anyones toes:guilty: What do you all think??? I would be willing to take over. I organized the FE for my 2/20/2010 Western sailing and it was pretty easy:thumbsup2 Almost down to double digits:banana::banana:

I totally agree - I haven't heard anything either. I mentioned I would be willing to help out, but still no response... hope everything is okay :)

I can't wait to know the final count; I keep seeing fun FE gift ideas and have to remind myself to wait.

We are getting so excited - we have been looking forward to this forever now.

As for EXCURSIONS - anyone swimming with dolphins? If so, at which port? DD wants to do this; she hasn't stopped talking about swimming with the dolphins since we did it last year in Cuba.

I am sooo type A. Already started making/putting together FE gifts:eek:. I love to to get things done ahead off time so then I can relax. Had Dolphin swim-push-tow excursion booked in Cozumel at Chankanaab but then we switched to Nachi Cocom beach break:beach:. We did Dolphin Swim once at Discovery Cove FL and loved it. I have heard great things about both Cozumel and GC. In Cozumel they have both Chankanaab and Dolphinaris. I think I read that Dolphinaris is in a more protected area so if the seas are rough you are more comfortable. I also know that if you book outside of DCL you can do the Royal Swim at Chankanaab which is more interactive. Either way or place I think both will be great. Our group should also start thinking about having a DIS meet on embarkation day:goodvibes

I can't book excursion yet :( I have to wait until August 27th before I can do that... but I don't think we are doing too much other then the dolphin swim. I really want to relax a bit on the cruise before we spend a week at WDW, because as much fun as the parks will be, I know they won't be relaxing days.
I am all for a DIS meet... DD would love to meet some kids to hang out with throughout the week too.

Crossing my fingers for you that you get what you want. Don't forget to wake-up or log on to DCL at 12:01am for your best chance. If you want Palo Brunch book that first those seem to go faster than dinner. Then Dolphin excursion next those seem to go fast as well. Remember that you can always try to book Palo and excursions(or book dolphin swim on your own directly thru excursion site) as soon as you get on board or get put on waitlist. Good luck:goodvibes

Great suggestions on booking order, I have to wait till the 31st also.

I'd also be interested in a meet up.

I have to wait on the excursions too. My family wants to go on the Mayan ruins excursion on the mainland. Does anyone know if it is a popular one to book?
I would love to meet up. It would give the kids a bit of an advantage to start the cruise by meeting other kiddos.
In 1 hour we are down to double digits!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Type A here as well!! I know what I want to do with the gifts, just need to know the numbers.

Also, how are we doing the FE's? One per kid for the week...per day? One per adult or as a couple? Just wondering so that I can kind of plan a bit. (yup, definitely type A :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:)

Have a great night!!

At Cozumel we have reserved Nachi Cocom (the day we are in port there are 6 cruise ships scheduled including the Magic) lots of passengers. Nachi Cocom limits to 100 guests per day and is all-inclusive

Grand Cayman we have booked the Stingray City and Tour through DCL (to turtle farm and hell):thumbsup2

We want to do the same one in Grand Cayman. Is it a popular one to book?

Yeah!!! Double digits:cool1::cool1::cool1:
FE are usually do or make what you feel comfortable giving. It can be anywhere from 1 to 4 drops for the 7 night. I usually do one gift bag per child - one family gift and then an additional surprise or 2:wizard:

We want to do the same one in Grand Cayman. Is it a popular one to book?

It is popular but DCL offers 2 time slots for this 9:15am to 1pm and 11:30am to 3:15pm.I think dolphin excursion is still more popular. The early am tends to sell out before afternoon. We are booked for early am. Just an FYI that GC is tender port. Priorty tender goes to those booked on DCL excursions and concierge guests. If you book an excursion on your own when ready to exit the ship your entire party must go to the Buena Vista theater and get a ticket and then be escorted as they call you to the tender. So if you do book on your own you should take the time it takes to get on tender into consideration:goodvibes Hope the info was helpful. I also found this tutorial that someone on another thread put together to help 1st timers with navigating thru the booking process.

I'm a type A personality too and since I want to make some of the gifts for the fish extender what I did was go through the posts and make a really rough list of who said they were interested and if they mentioned how many people I listed that too..so at least I have a ballpark figure of how many items to start making. On my list I have 20 disboard names said they were interested and about 75 people in the rooms. Who know how accurate that is but at least it gave me a place to start.

I noticed that as well but that list was started by the original organizer who is no longer sailing with us. I think lots of people book early and then change their mind or change their sail date. If all those on original list are still with us they haven't posted on this thread for a while, but that could also mean that unlike myself they have a life outside of the DIS and disney cruises. My name is Karen and I am a DIS addict:lmao: My plan is to wait couple more weeks and then post info/link to a google doc which I have already prepared:scared1: (again type A taking over) and go from there:thumbsup2

I'd really like to participate in the FE, but I just found out my DD has a peanut and tree nut allergy. Is this going to be an issue?

Absolutely not an issue at all:goodvibes If candy is given it is prepacked from manf. so you can go through stuff and take out if anything has nuts in it. Most are aware of allergies so you may not even get anything with nuts in it. When I give candy it is always nut free. You should participate it is really fun both giving and getting treats in your FE:thumbsup2

I'm so sorry to have been off of the Disboards for so long!

I hope ya'll are still willing to let me handle the fish extender exchange for our cruise. I still want to do it!

To explain the absence...we lost our beloved great dane, Isis to cancer in May. So to make up for it, hubby surprised me with a puppy a month later. "Little" Einstein is a male great dane who is now 15 weeks old and weighed in at 48.9 lbs at the vet Monday. Needless to say he is tons of trouble.

On top of that we have the normal summer craziness. We also contemplated canceling the cruise due to $$ issues. But have decided to go forth & enjoy ourselves! (So while I thought we might cancel I couldn't even bring myself to read about cruising...too depressing!)

Soooo....now life is getting back to normal. I know we won't be canceling & I'd love to still organize the FE if you'll have me!

Please either post your info here or PM me. I will have an updated list posted by the end of the weekend. I PROMISE!! We are so excited now that we know we're going for sure!! Now I can start planning with enthusiasm!!
