There was something in Sunday's paper about being able to go down the ramp, last year they started this. My boys were only able to do this when they did the football camps or a tour, never prior to a game. I cannot find the article, it was in the Tribune. I'll ask my neighbor, he'll know what I'm talking about and point me in the right direction.
Would definitely hit the bookstore. There is a shop that is on Ironwood I believe, these are reduced. There are a lot of things in there that are all official ND licensed items, this is just where they send last year's stuff. Also at the mall, in Penney's, they have a nice large selection of quality stuff. There is a small shop inside the mall, near center--I would avoid it. It's all thin, cheap stuff, wouldn't last through the first wash. The bookstore will have the biggest and best selection, but it will be packed.
I don't know how to go about it, but my boys have all been lucky enough to tour the locker rooms. It was always done through Boy Scouts or their football programs and always on a weekday. I don't know how they arranged this. Might be worthwhile inquiring about. I've been on it twice with them, once with football and once through the ND football camp. You see the locker room with all the rings, plaques and items from the past. Then proceed through and come out where the "play like a champion" plaque hangs on the wall, down the ramp to the field. They don't allow you on the field, but you could take pictures in front of it. If I see one of the old coaches, I'll ask how to find out that info.
If you have time. See the Studebaker Museum. We've lived here off and on for 10 years and I finally went a few months ago. I need to go back. Very impressive. I didn't get to take it all in.
