Nothing Thread

Hi lllovell :wave2:

I do visit y'all every day because I am subscribed to this thread and it is entertaining :goodvibes I will probably have to do the pop in and out routine because I have one of those jobs that make it hard to carry on a decent conversation :teeth: Kinda rude of them not to give me any time in the closet to have icecream :rotfl:

Hi Mar'
I was born in Plattsburgh...are you gonna' hike that far upstate? :teeth:

I'm jealous of your plans as my kids have been begging me to go to NYC for awhile now...I keep saying "one of these days". So, I might just have to surprise them sometime. ;)

Sorry Carrie, didn't make the No-Bakes afterall. We went grocery shopping and found a mix for some Caramel Apple Bars. Yum -- gonna' give them a try tomorrow!

So Lefty, where you been hiding? It better be something involving SOF or we're going to impeach you!

I had a birthday. Like all disney birthdays, the celebration lasted for more than a day. The weekend before, I went to Northern Cal. to see my family. Then, the day before my Bday, went out with work friends. Mmmmm.... Raspberry margaritas. They day of my bday, didn't do much special. The day after (a Friday), I went out with my Orange County friends, and then on Saturday went out with my L.A. friends.
I'm thinking, in honor of my 35th next year, I should have a year long celebration complete with a merchandising event. Who wouldn't want a shot glass or a t-shirt with my picture on it?

Now THAT is a birthday celebration! Happy Birhtday S.o.F. !!! <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNxdm414YYUS' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_23_9.gif' alt='Happy Birthday' border=0></a>

I also think it firmly cements you in the office of Secretary of Fun! (but its time we restock your office - the liquor cabinet :p )

Mar - that sounds like so much fun! I have been out of commission this summer, but we do try to do some of the things that are within 1-2 hours of Atlanta (not ot mention that Atlanta itself has a TON of things to do) every summer. If I could just get someone to turn down the heat about 20 degrees *pant pant*

DisneySpirit - you are going to have to work ice cream breaks into your benefits! (I am parked at a desk all day and lucky enough that if I get things done, I am mostly a free woman....so I am able to keep the DIS boards up all day even if I am not around actually posting!)

My youngest is at the emergency room with what is hopefully NOT a broken arm/wrist. He does this thing every night where he comes and jumps into my bed when its time for him to go to bed and takes "daddy's side" and hides from his dad under the covers. (when they get in the tub and start their night time routine - I am usually laying down lately...come on October 10th!!!) So last night, in he comes, jumps up on the bed, goes to grab the covers to hide under them and flips himself off the bed. I think he tried to catch himself with his arm :( Still bothering him this morning with crying happening every time he put pressure on it (although he seemed to get over it within 15 minutes or so last night) so hubby has him down getting an x-ray today. *sigh* So we will see. I am hoping its just sprained. Poor little guy.

Whats for breakfast today? Anyone have any requests?

Laura

SOF - Happy birthday!!! ::cake::

Mar' - Enjoy your time off!

Laura - :wizard: for your little one. :(

I got double-caffeinated this am. I made coffe which ensured that someone would bring in caramel latte's. Oh boy. I'll have to take something low sugar this morning. We got eggs bendict on the menu?

WIthDIsneySpirit - I typically run to the closet when I don't have time to chat. There's always time for that!

ETA: IDdn't do so good guesing smiling commands. Let's try again.

hahaha - and Hubby has called 3 times already trying to fill out the forms at the hospital. Poor guy. I offered to take off work this morning to go, but he said he would handle it. (we have "open house" already this afternoon, so I am leaving early).

Laura - I am sooo with you. My dh has been planning a few vacations when I was too stressed out. Not sure that really helped.

FYI - I was trying for pixie dust for you!

Thank you Carrie! They are obviously having troubles again today with the images, etc. I am sure he is ok. Besides, he gets to spend two days with dad in a row! That works for him lol (especially if he can get Chuck E. Cheese out of dad after they sit in the emergency room for a while...not that I would have put such suggestions in his little mind *innocent look* hehe)

lol @ vacation planning - - - Hubby had out the original packet of information about DVC the other night. I had been discussing those points we ended up using for an HHI ressie in January with him (trying to get imput) and I think he figured out he doesn't really understand how it all works. I am not sure that him figuring it all out will be a good thing. hehe

It's hard leaving Dad in charge
Heeey! Us dads are perfectly capable of normal every day stuff! Why today I made breakfast for the kids! What's the big deal with pancake batter? That stuffs a snap. But I did have a bit of trouble getting the pancakes out of the toaster :confused3 And since when don't kids like coffee?

And your wife thinks you're lazy? ;)

Not at all! She will admit, however, that I am "preoccupied with spending an inordinate amount of time on activities that require very little physical energy". Lazy? She necer uses that word. I think the word she prefers is "inert."

Laura I hope your little guy is fine. It'd be a bummer to have to wear a cast in this heat, got my fingers crossed that it's just a sprain.

Happy B-day Left Coaster--by the way did you see Tooneric pass by on his way to DL?

*smile* I know...I know - and I can admit its ME not HIM really. I am the one with the issues here. (hey - I admitted to being a control freak lol)

Happy B-day TW1!
...passing along to Left Coaster, (while I do appreciate the thought :earsboy: ) Ahh, to be 35 again, the good ole days...Sounds like you had a great celebration LC!

:( its fractured but a hairline. On the way to his regular doctor now at 2:15.

So far just a splint. They just recommend seeing our regular doctor too for follow-up care. (I feel so bad. If I had just caught him before he fell off the bed :( *sigh* ) Ah well, if we make it through youth with one a fractured arm, I suppose we will be doing amazing well (for 2 boys and the girl on the way).

Poor guy. At least it's not a cast. I hear those are terribly hot itchy in the summer. As I learned very early on, you can stay in arms length of a child and still not catch them every time they fall. Don't beat yourself up about it!

I know he will be fine. Probably won't even slow him down much. Children are so amazing!

:flower3: Carrie ...

*going to hide in the closet for ice cream*

Although us Moms WISH we had 8 arms we are don't--unless you are an Octopus Mom. In no way was this something that you could have prevented, after all how many times did he do this without anything happening? There was no reason for you to suspect otherwise this time.

BTW my daughter fractured her wrist (jumped off a moving swing, lost her balance, fell backward, "caught" herself with that arm) and she did need a cast for a short while. That was 4 years ago, she's fine now, with no lasting effects.

Both of my kids (and me and my sister) have "war stories" about various (luckily non life threatening) injuries we sustained when we were younger. It's virtually impossible to get through childhood without some sort of physical drama occuring. What seems so upsetting at the time becomes a good story to tell later on after it's all over. I'm willing to bet your little guy will relish telling his friends all the details of his accident. Thank goodness it wasn't serious, these things happen.

Sorry you have to deal with the stress Laura, but it's not your fault, don't let the guilt monster get you!

Mar'
