Nothing Rare Anymore

This is somewhat of a rant, but I am curious as to other peoples thoughts too.

A while ago, VMK brought back the green flip hat for sale. Making it go from one of the most rare items in VMK, to not rare at all. I had given up a lot of stuff to get that hat, and I was a little annoyed when it came back. And my VMK playing slowed down greatly.

Then a day comes that I had been waiting months and months for, someone accepting my Inferno offer, which consisted of over 100 of my items, and the deal was made, I had my inferno, and no longer than 2 weeks later, BOOM. Inferno is offered on the movie rewards site. Needless to say, this is what pretty much ended my VMK playing.

Well I haven't been on in a long time, I signed on for the first time yesterday to see what this Magic Shop was all about, and I see even MORE rare items are now for sale. Sorcerer hat, top hat, bat magic, snowman magic.

It sorta killed any fun in trading, because you might trade some awesome items one day, only for the next day those items that you just got go from rare to worthless.

Has anyone else felt a little cheated, or lost the love for playing VMK because of most items no longer being rare or worth anything?

I believe all rare should be released including sparrow, stitch etc. I hate rare stuff becuase it turns people into snobs if they weren't already. My stitch off I thought was good so I offer. 5 minutes later i'm being laughed at and being told I shouldn't show my face and to go "dead" myself. Then booted. Nice ppl right I am glad rare came out and I wouldn't care an ounce if minnie, gray mansion, bird hats came out I would be happy. Don't get mad vmk has the right idea of releasing rare becuase it brings back the point of the game just to have fun not to become agro rich with "rare" and vmk also knows that releasing "rare" will get the snobs to quit and not come back. Not saying your a snob. And trust me you know a snob when you see one. No one on this board I think is like that. Minus Some. Sorry for ranting in your rant but I had too.

Maybe this is a stupid idea, but I seriously think VMK would just be alot more fun if all people could get everything in the game, just at higher prices to buy it. People wouldn't have such an attitude. " Haha! I have This! And You Dont! " " Haha Look At U U Poor "

rare should exist bc it gives you something to work for i think its great to rerelease but they should do it in a way that it wont lose to much value

The whole point of the game was to be a kids game. yes some people take that term and expand it too far, but there is no reason to release and item just becasue you don'thave it. If you don't have it, work harder for it! That draws the line between what you want or what you really really really want! I have an example of this. I aquired a Cyan rocket, which many of my friends told me it was worth almost inferno (before it was released again) I tried to get just stitch for it, and i was laughed at just like you tech. but 8 long months later (and 12 extra fire walls later) i rinally got my stitch hat. I was so happy, and got to have items i would never dream of having before. Plus, yavn has already stated that promo items and in park items will never be released into the game. Anither example is when a girl came into my room today saying that she bought 25 red HKDL shirts. She said she will be extremely rich. Exactly! Since the once rare item was released, everyone has it! So there is no fun in it when everyone has it! I think that if a big item like stitch hat was rereleased and sold, you would all be complaining because then you would say all the new people wear it. Its just a matter of you being jealous of an item, and wanting vmk to come out with it. I don't believe thats fair to the people who worked their buns off to get the items that vmk hands to you on a silver platter. So theres my side of it, and yes i want green flips, but wheres the fun in it if everyone has them?

yes, some of us do want items that we dont have, but at least just RESELL everything, or have a retro month and sell all the junk that they sold in the beginning..

And No, i wouldnt care if VMK released the stitch hat and sold it. It would just be being fair, and fun for all.

I totally agree with all your sayings.
There is soo many as said above "snobs" in game and that is very true. I've seen virtually rich people pick on say Guest or new people that don't own many rare objects; I don't see the point in this sense these are just VIRTUAL objects that for me have no vital meaning to players. I mean of course we can all want something and keep searching for it, but fight,offend and laught at people for some not real objects; for me if a player offends another player say an adult player well we can let it slide(I would just talk back nicely tho) but if it's a player offended directed to another player say a kid, that really hurts. They play the game to have fun and get cool online items to get rejected and laughted at I for one think that is wrong and no one should do this to anyone no matter who it is so personally I don't care if rare comes back that way we all have great items that we all wished to have

Not to be rude but I do have rare of my own yes and I don't want them released just becuase I don't have them , no i'm not that childish and self centered. And VMK would release things for prices not 5 credits and make the kids work for something they can get from playing mini games to earn credits to buy the items with. I see how you would be affected if this rare came out because of you working 8 months for it but if vmk were to release these things in moderation it wouldn't be so bad at least see where i'm coming from. I don't enjoy being told to go dead myself because my offer isn't worthy in their trade room. Please understand.

If everything was re-released and I managed to buy it all, I'd probably sign on for just a couple hours a week. I don't think I'd care as much anymore about the game. If I want to talk to people, I can do it on here because there's no one that I talk to on the game that I don't talk to on here, so it wouldn't be a big loss for me. I'm kind of neutral on the topic. It would be nice to have everything, but it would kind of stink to lose interest in the game.

I agree with everyone who posted, not just the people who think that there shouldn't be any rare at all. Rare keeps certain people playing, but I am sure VMK loses more people who are frustrated that they cannot get their items. Needless to say, it is kind of pointless to rant either way.

So, here is my idea, as I like to come up with a plausible solution:

Release all of the Furniture and Posters. Just like in real life, people should be able to have cooler clothes and cooler pins than you, but I think this would keep people more interested. The one point that no one has made so far is that, even if you don't have any friends, and there is no rare left for you to get, then you can still build rooms. Make it an equal playing field, rather than one or two people getting nominations just because their room has rare. I think this would make it more fun, not just for the people who need something to do, but for room builders as well.

Please note that my sig is a wanted list for rare items.. and that I am not saying to release all furniture to complete my wanted list.. since none of those items are furniture.

Just so you know, the green flip hat was never very rare at all. Everyone had one. It's just that it had incredible value for some reason.

Excuse you i'm not going to get mad but who are you to say what I feel and what I don't I am not lying ask anyone that knows me, Ask Cheer_Girlie I let her friend borrow my inferno and I had no clue who he was at the time he could have ran off with it but I wouldn't have cared. Don't put words in my mouth and when I try to explain myself don't start stating things to try to make my point collapse.

My opinion but in vmk your always going to have those who have, and those who dont have. Even if you can buy the "rare" thats being released, who can keep up with the demand of credits with the constant lag in the mini games? And the little dudes in vmk cant play the mini games like the older peeps. If their going to start releasing rare then do it all, in all fairness. Im sure every trader has traded alot for an item, only to have vmk bring it back later. We all have been thru that Im sure.

Trading is fun sure but maybe it will shake things up a bit in the game. Hang with your friends, build things together.

Its to hard to make credits anyway to keep up with all vmk is releasing. LIke I said especially with the lag plus I have the attention span of a lima bean.

So rich players will always exist alot due to ebay I think. Why is it so important to have more more more? It sure doesnt change your life outside of vmk.
