Notes and random happenings from my 12/29-1/3 DLR trip

Stayed at CCI from 12/29 til 1/3. Hotel was as packed as I have ever seen it, yet the hotel was as quiet as could possibly believe at nights. Usually there is the normal loud groups or kids running around at all hours, but that just wasn't the case this time.

Saw posted wait times of 150 minutes on indy and 85 minutes on Space.

Mr Potato Head managed to drop his ear, unfortunately we weren't filming when it happened.

Lots of rides were going down, including california screamin and TSMM at the same time, which lead to a lot of disgruntled patrons.

Managed to get a new personal best of 304k and still think I could do better. My gf is a lot of help unlocking the different point targets, so she gets some credit as well.

I was shocked with the crowds in the hub and main street on new years eve, but it didn't seem unbearable or overwhelming. In fact, we got into the park at 4 pm, which was surprising to us, but I think people were able to get in for most of the day, maybe even all night.

Had a lot of fun, relied on fast pass collection in the morning to make the afternoon/evening crowds unnoticable. Unfortunately, my AP expired on the last day of our trip, and I don't think we'll be going back for a while as school and work will be in the way.

I forgot to mention some of what/where we ate.

Bengal BBQ was good as always.

Tortilla Jo's taqueria was also pretty good, had the two tacos, nachos, and rice. Too bad they use nacho cheese on their nacho's, otherwise very good.

Taste Pilots chili cheese burger, which is a fav of mine. The fries are also the best around.

The park wasn't TOO crowded (but still very busy) yesterday, but that is not a fair comparison for you to use for the 5th.

Why?

- Today is the last day of all-things-holiday at the Park
- Today is the last parade for a long time (until the Main St. work is done)
- Today is the last day that some APs are blocked out.
- Saturday is always more crowded than Monday.
- Tomorrow MANY return to school.

I would be extremely surprised if you don't have a very little crowd tomorrow.

We left early on the 3rd so crowds weren't really there for us.

Also, I have never seen the line's to buy tickets so long. They went through the maze, then looped around and all the way across the esplanade towards the ticket booths on the other side, pretty crazy.

It sounds like NYE was more manageable crowd wise, this year, in comparison to NYE's past at Disneyland. That is great!

I really like Bengal Barbecue too. Very tasty bacon wrapped asparagus skewers. Yum!!

I hope that you were able to visit Jose and his songster feathered and flowery friends as well as their Tiki friends. I love The Enchanted Tiki Room!
