Sorry I've been MIA. My laptop is on it's final leg, so I'm shopping around and I have to use my work laptop at home, which has weird security on it, so I can't resize things in photobucket. Annoying. I'm hopefully going to get a new computer soon (tax refund - where are you??)
So I'm a little less than 8 months out and I feel like I have nothing to do. Is this normal? What should I be doing? I've done all the stuff on my checklists....
Most people in my family do a video slide show during the reception of the bride and groom growing up and then together. It's pretty common around here, but I know these things can be regional, so I just wanted to put a back story to the post.
So, my mom and I were discussing if we should do one, and I thought I read someone's (Lindsey22?? Can't remember) PJ that they were doing this and going to show it on the bus. I thought this was a good idea, and my mom and I decided our summer project would be compiling these photos in iphoto and making a slideshow/dvd.
Well our local public TV station had their annual tv auction (I don't know if other stations do this but basically it's like a silent auction, but on TV, they show a table of 8-10 items, and then you have 15 minutes to bid on that table by phone. It goes for a little over a week, and all proceeds support public television.) And over the years we've gotten some great items/deals from this auction. So last night, I was at my parent's house and on of the items was a video biography where the company interviews you, scans your pictures and complies them into a 20-30 minute DVD. At the 3 minute warning, this $1,500 item was going for $120, so my mom told me to bid on it, because it would save us tons of time. (and probally a few fights as well)
So, we won, and got an awsome deal on this service. But now I'm thinking because we're acutally spending money on this, and it (hopefully) will look really nice, that I might want to play it during the reception.
However, I can't envision how to do this in the Napa Room... So maybe I should keep it on the bus? But will people watch it? Is it a waste then? I'm torn and having buyer's remorse (at least the $ went to a good cause) I'm also worried that with a small group, it'll seem weird.
So basically I'm the most indecicive person on the planet.
