Not yellowing tagging a ME bag

We are leaving tomorrow and last night I realized that we only had 3 yellow ME tags, but we have 4 bags. I called Magical Express and the lady assured me it was no big deal, just to turn in my baggage claim ticket at the ME desk and my untagged suitcase would make it to the hotel just fine.

That makes me nervous as can be. I just need someone to reassure me that their non yellow tagged bags have made it to the hotel with no problem.

No problem. Just give them your baggage claim ticket at the DME area before you board your bus. This happens all the time!

They will find your bag.

The first year I went; on the land/sea package.

We had to check into the Cruise Line desk; because they had to ensure you had your passports to leave the country.

The couple in front of me never read the instructions, never tagged their bags, didn't save their baggage claim tickets and didn't even remember what their flight no. was - all they could remember is they flew in on US Air.

The CM found all of their bags.

Thank you all so much. You have reassured me. It is just hard for a super organized planner like me to not have my bag tagged "correctly"

Cut one of the yellow tags in 1/2. Both ends have the bar code with the resort information on them. The tag will be shorter, but it will still work.

All of the above will work... But plan "B" would be just go pick up the bag at baggage claim and take it with you on ME. We had to do this last year and it was no big deal...

That is a great idea. I will just do that.

I know I could claim the bag but we are arriving at 10AM, so we are purposefully not taking any carryons so we don't have to worry about storing them until our room is ready.

When we went this June, the tags had a perferation in the middle to do this. When we called asking how to get more, the CM on the phone said to find the perferation and tear and we would be good to go. Worked like a charm! Enjoy your trip!

I just want to clarify for others that you didn't "have to," it's what you preferred to do.

I wanted to point out to the OP that what the CM told you on the phone has been the official policy since Day One over 6 years ago. Since Day One of DME, they've had that procedure in place. Rest assured that it's not some last minute patch put on with bubble gum and wire and they're crossing their fingers it'll work; it's the real deal and has been for more than 6 years.

Hakuna matata!

If you cut the yellow tag in half, some suitcase handles are too fat to put the tag around and have it stay on. But you can use transparent tape to help hold it on.
