I'm confused about how redeeming the GAD for FPs works. How many FPs do you get and how does it work?

Traveling to Disney in May is DH, myself, and two kids both seven-year-olds. We already have our Disney trip paid off and have 10 day PH and WP&M tickets so if I do the GAD I would use the FP option.

I haven't yet signed up to volunteer and depending on how the FP redemption option works, I'm not sure if I will volunteer by myself or if I will make the kids do it with me. DH can't volunteer as he works 60+ hours per week and is a full time college student as well.

Should I volunteer alone or would there we an additional benefit to us as a family if I had my two seven year olds do it with me? Again how does the FP redemption option work if there is one adult (out of a party of 4) with the GAD FPs versus one adult and 2 kids (our of a party of 4) with the GAD FPs?

Also, would there still be time for us to get our voucher? We have 79 days left before our trip.

Each person who signs up, selects a project and completes the required duties will get a certificate.

As long as the person with the certificate has a valid multi-day pass (which will be your situation) they can get one Fastpass Exchange Card per person in the party (which in your situation is four), which is valid in that park that day only.

It does not matter if the certificate hold is an adult or child. In your situation you would have either one or three certificates.

And as for timing, it appears that you should have no problem; you would need to search for projects that would accept people as young as age seven if the children will also be involved.

We did it as a family. Two benefits: First, it was more fun and rewarding doing volunteer work as a family. Second, everyone volunteering and working together enabled us to get FP's for our whole group for each park day that we planned.

I :worship: to whoever thought up this GAD program. We signed up initially for the FP's but came out with much more. Now the kids are looking forward to another family "helping day"!
