but why would Disney make the HOLIDAY season AP rates the same as VALUE season AP rates? Do you think it's just a glitch in the system, or intentional? I know the CM who booked me in the Poly for Christmas week was shocked! Anyone know what the deal is?

I too noticed this. I was glued to the threads on Thursday watching what everyone got. I thought this was strange, but so many folks got this great rate. Maybe it has something to do with the new catagory they are adding to the list of rates. No one could know what they were thinking, but there are lots of happy folks out there because of it.

My CM was pretty shocked that AKL was coming in at $109.00. But I'm glad.

My take on that is that perhaps they really anticipate low occupancy during holiday week. I mean, when I showed the rack rate for holiday at Yacht Club concierge to my husband (something like $600) and then the AP rate, he was shocked. And when I called this morning I was a bit apprehensive that there would be no availability Christmas week at those rates. But, the CM who helped me (who was incredible and very knowledgeable about the resorts) seem to indicate there was plenty of rooms available at that rate. Y/C G/V concierge for $300/nt. - tax inclusive. There's no way I could ge that in June. Couldn't pass it up.

My husband was even thinking the 5 of us could fly instead of drive. I told him...we're not that lucky. I seriously doubt airfare would be discounted during that week.

Why would they anticipate low crowds when Thanksgiving is booked solid? It's funny that Thanksgiving has three nights blacked out and christmas has the Ap rate. I am NOT a happy camper right now , as I am currently sitting here with 4 nights at rack rate and 1 at AP rate. I'm still trying for two nights at AP rate. Kind of hard to change room types when you are paying rack for two nights.
