Staying one night at Animal kingdom, but wife wants to something different. We have 12 & 14 year old boys. Is universal studios worth it. We are Disney spoiled.

for 12 and 14 boys would say yes! Lowes hotels are too me a little better than WDW.

We are Disney spoiled as well and trying US for the first time. My boys are about the same age, 12 and barely 15.

Yes, US is so worth going to. We took our DDs (ages 13 & 16) during spring break this year for the first time. They loved it, and we're going back in July. The Loews hotels are fabulous. There are three onsite US hotels: Portofino Bay, Royal Pacific and Hard Rock. We stayed one night at the Portofino Bay. It's so beautiful there, and by staying at a US hotel, we got early park entry. We also enjoyed the restaurants at the Universal City Walk. We ate at the Hard Rock Cafe and Margaritaville. We had a great experience at US, and IMO, we were spoiled there as much as at Disney.

would suggest Royal Pacific - it is the cheapest and it is close to IOA not US.

if they like roller coaster

Universal Studios are awesome! Definitely would recommend a visit. I was blown away by our first visit and I would say your boys are probably the perfect age to visit.

Yes if sons US definitely be there favorite. I know my son loves US rather go there then WDW.

:) You don't need to see the dark side...this isn't the site your looking for...move along. :cool2:

Yes, yes yes x a million!!! Universal is a totally different experience than Disney, but if you take it for what it is, you will LOVE it!

OP be very, very careful if you decide to venture to the dark side...

if you stay onsite at the onsite Loews properties:cloud9:...

and experience the FOTL perc...

you will be hooked.

assuming they like roller coasters, universal will blow them away. the hulk and dragon challenge are great at islands of adventure...and the mummy is fun at universal. harry potter and spiderman are pretty impressive rides...

the butterscotchy "butterbeer" is pretty yummy whether you are into harry potter or not...

doesn't have the magic of wdw but it's fun in a different way.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, We R going to try one day pass. Boys r looking forward to Mummy ride!
