Hi,

It has been about 4-5 years since my dh and myself visited Universal studios.

We are DVC members from the UK so when we go to WDW we tend to stay onsite using our points. We are at the very early stages of planning our 2008 trip. We want to check out universal and also visit city walk.

We would like to stay on site, but have no idea about the hotels. Could you advise which are the cheaper - we love the idea of HRH but dont know where it lies price wise ie is it one of the dearest. We kinda need to get the best price possible.

I read on a thread you can apply for a lowes card - do all universal hotels accept this?

Is there a web address where I can look at the different hotels and thier rates -I tried the universal site but it was that easy as it kept asking what package I wanted???:confused3

Thanks any help is appreciated

Hi. Typically, the RPR is the cheapest of the 3 hotels. It's been a toss-up lately whether HRH or PBH is the most expensive. For example, the AAA rate at PBH is usually a consistent 20% discount, but the AAA discount at HRH is sometimes a 10% discount, sometimes 20%. When it's only a 10% discount, the HRH can be a little more expensive than the PBH. Rack rates at PBH are usually highest, and of course it will totally depend upon what time of the year you are planning your trip.

A good place to start planning and deciding where you want to stay is here:

You can click on each resort at the bottom of the page for lots of pics. Since it's only you and your husband, you're pretty much open to all 3 hotels. If you had 3 kids coming with you, I would tell you to shy away from the RPR since it has the smallest rooms of the 3 hotels.

And, yes, all 3 on-site hotels will accept the Loews card, as long as book at a qualifying rate.

please post again if we can help you with any more of your questions.

The best part of staying onsite at US/IOA is that, unlike Disney, you can use your room key as an unlimited FastPass. It completely changed the whole flavor of our stay which had previously been offsite visits. Now we will never go unless we stay onsite. That room key is worth its weight in gold! :cloud9:

Thank you I did not know that :goodvibes
