I have a family of 4 that is staying onsite with a vacation package. I know everyone in the party has to have the same number of days on their ticket. The problem is that 2 of us want an extra day. Normally, I would book everyone with the lesser days and add a day to our 2 tickets when we get there. However, with FP+ booking, I would rather give everyone the extra day and then have the other 2 drop the extra day later.

Is this allowed?
When is the best time to change their tickets to one less day?
Will taking a day off their ticket affect our FP+ ressies?

You can add days but cannot subtract them.

If you want to do advanced FP+ for the extra days everyone has to get them early and keep them- once you have added them you can't subtract them from the tickets they only allow upgrades not downgrades even before the ticket is used.

Your choices:
1- add extra day to needed tickets after arrival and book FP+ then
2- add extra day to everyone now so you can book FP+ at window and then consider the coast of those who don't want the extra days as the value of your FP+ for the extra day since you can't get your money back
3- add extra day for everyone and make everyone go to the park on that day

Disney MYW tickets are front loaded so if your tickets are for at least 4 days, the cost of the 5th - 10th days is only $10.65 inc tax per day.

If you want FP+ selections for the extra day think of the $10.65 as the price of fastpasses since you can't reduce the number of days on the tickets.
