My mom and I are going down to Disney right around Halloween, and we've heard that the Halloween party is something fun to do no matter how old you are. Is that true and is it worth the money to go to the party????

I have no experience other than to say we will be heading to Disney in about 40 days, the kids wanted to do MNSSHP, I was not sure, talked to my mom who is going if she wanted to do it, she decided as long as she did not have to dress up, she is 77yrs old, I am in my 50's, so I guess we decided to give it a try and that it sounded like fun. I think the part that interested my mom was the things like the parade that you can only see if you do the party. Not as much for the trick or treating.

We went to MNNSHP last year and loved it, my DS was 1.5 and fell asleep in his stroller around 10pm and my DH and i walked around till midnight. The parade and fireworks are very cool and it was nice to see charcters that aren't out that much. We are going again this year, both my DH and i think it's worth the $

In my opinion this is the best disney parade ever! The music gets stuck in my head forever and its just so much fun - plus the dance parties are a blast for younger kids, my niece danced the night away (5 at the time)! Plus its a rare opportunity to get lots of unique character photos, snow white and ALL the dwarfs, the villains, Alice and all her crew - including the cards :) cinderella in front of a gorgeous carriage - lots of cool things. Plus the way main street looks during it is awesome!

I think its totally worth it, and we are going again this trip, its one of the main reasons we decided to go in the fall again!:woohoo:

I have never been and we are going this October as well and am trying to decide if we should go to this or not. Can I add a question? Does anyone know - are the rides open? I will keep reading to see if it's worth it! There is 8 of us, and at $50/pop thats a lot of money and not sure if we will find it worth it?? But it is something I really might consider if it is worth it!

 princess: My DH and I took our DD (7) and DS (3) to the MNNSHP and they LOVED it and so did we. The rides are all open, characters are out in full force, you get to trick or treat in the magic kingdom at designated areas, and the costumes are a hoot! We all dressed up and had a blast. The parade was lots of fun, there were even people from the Haunted Mansion in the parade!!!! It was soooo worth the money and we will do it everytime we are in Disney during that time of year!!! Plus, because it is a tickected event, the crowd level was down a bit. Go with a good attitude and have a great time!!!

I think it's worth it. We brought our family to the MNSSHP our first time to Disney and then we went to the PP&P party and it was similiar. Next month, I am going with my DD12 and I know we will have a blast. She is going to be a bride and I am unsure but I did buy a Giselle wedding dress but I may be a pirate.. Do keep in mind, the weather can be really hot and Disney makes their costumes warm. even my girls were sweating in theri dresses when we went. It is a blast, lower crowds and lots of different things.

so how does one go Trick or Treating at WDW? Do they have cast members in certain areas that are out in the open and they give out candy? Or do they give out something else?

Do you go inside the attractions to do it? Is there a list somewhere or is it like a scavenger hunt to find the TOT-ing CM's?

This sounds so cool!

To be honest the trick or treating was my least favorite part, but I'm not a kid, so who am I to say ;) But they have these little trails for trick or treating set up and you just walk down the path and the cm have bags full of candy to pass out. they give you a treat bag when you get in but you can also bring your own larger ones if you want. I do think its best to wait and do the trick or treating later in the evening, do all the rides and see all the characters and watch the parades and shows etc. and then do some of the trails. At least when we went, the cm tended to give more candy later in the evening anyway so you could get it done with sooner... just get a little bit before the parade so you have goodies to
snack on :goodvibes

MNSSHP is not to be missed! It is well worth the money in my opinion. Our family all agrees that it is the best parade at Disney. Our daughter loved the trick or treating. She has a nut allergy and the cast members at the trick or treat spots were fabulous in accomodating her. It is really fun to see all of the characters in costume and most of the rides are open with little to no lines at all. It is also lots of fun to see all of the park guests in costume. Even the adults get very creative! (Our daughter was the only one in costume from our group.) We are traveling at the end of this month with a party of 10 and will miss the party by 3 days. We are really disappointed. If you splurge on this and spend the extra money, I don't think you will be disappointed!

It's a blast! DH and I are in our forties and we went for the first time in 10/08. DH is normally a little reserved, but we wore costumes and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Yes, we did some trick-or-treating and I felt like a kid again (even more than usual). The trick or treat stations are at set places throughout the park. They are clearly marked on the map. The boo to you parade is now my new favorite. I highly recommend MNSSHP!

We haven't been the MNSSHP in years - we've done MVMCP most years but September/October wasn't a good time for DD to miss school due to volleyball practice and games. But she starts college this year so DH and I are going to WDW by ourselves for my 50th birthday in late September. We definitely plan to attend the Halloween party - I have tickets for the 29th of September. We are really looking forward to seeing the parade and fireworks for the first time in several years.
