I'm sorry to hear about your less than magical stay at CSR.
We've stayed at CSR numerous times and have not once been disapointed (*knock on wood*) It is by far my favourite Disney Resort. During my stays I have been more than pleased with the service and the CMs.
About your statement on staying at deluxe hotels. I agree with some of the other people here that deluxe resorts do not mean service will be any better.
Just this summer we stayed at a Hyatt Grand Regency at Coconut Point, near Fort Myers Florida and had many problems. One such problem being that my mom and I are allergic to feathers and we had feather pillows. There were also some cotton/foam pillows in the room. So we called house keeping asking to exchange our feather pillows for foam ones, a very simple request. We were told initially that they had no foam pillows. Well we said that can't be possible because we had some and the hotel wasn't near full. So 1 HOUR and a HALF later they came with FEATHER pillows for us. Another call to the manager this time. Another HOUR later (it was then 1 o clock in the morning, we had originally called at 10:30) we finally got foam pillows. This was just one of the many problems we encountered. My dad managed to get us upgraded to an oceanview room for all the mishaps.
This is just my example that all hotels are going to have some bad service problems and going to a deluxe hotel will not necessarily solve service issues.
