Not sad about Michael Jackson...

I believe he was a musical genius, I loved his music including the Jackson 5 but I also believed the man he became was not well and I do believe he molested, in some way, those children. That said, Im feeling compassion for those families as if it were my child, Id be feeling awful listening to the glorification of Michael jackson.

And I will keep on repeating, I truly hope that he can find the peace now that he was never able to find in this world.

Larry King just implied that anyone who settled legally with MJ can now tell their stories.. as he put it "the tabloids will be full next week"

Honestly?

Larry King said that?

The guy has been dead not even maybe 5 hrs. WOW. While I expect comments like that, I usually expect media to at least wait a while. wow.

I feel awful in that people of my generation are saying this is a momentous day and are comparing it to Elvis dying and that I am not feeling it. I don't feel shocked or anything, and we had MTV first on our block. I'm just not feeling it at all. I'm sad someone lost their dad and family member, just as one would at any other death.

I was young when Elvis died, but not that young. This feels NOTHING to me like when Elvis or even Princess Diana died.

I do feel awful for my friends who are feeling it though. I feel like I can't even tell them how I feel. I guess I just feel indifferent. I shall comfort them, I suppose. It's all I can do.

I can't separate the artist from the unproven-in-court issues he had, but that's not it either.

And what is up with people camping out at the hospital and his homes?

He along with countless other strangers died today, I'm sad for their families but doesn't really effect me in any way. I never really understood the mourning of a celebrity, its just not my thing. Although when Princess Diana was killed it did effect me in a way I didn't expect.

Something about Michael that makes me angry is that he had such a messed-up childhood, and instead of giving his own children a halfway normal childhood, he has them wearing veils and living in his fantasy world. You'd think he'd want them to have nomal childhoods, which would have been possible even with all the fame.

wow, making a thread dedicated to slamming someone that just died.

I mean, fine, don't feel sad, but actually going out of your way to slam someone that just died, is freaking pitiful, and it's as slimy as some of the things that you think Michael Jackson did.

Good job though, I hope when the grim reaper visits that all those around you feel hate.

Ain't it great to be a human being!
I think this thread was made out of respect for the people who wanted to mouron on the other thread. Why did you post that you find so offensive for?

you think his music is great. That isn't a fact that is your opinion everyone is allowed to have a opinion

Oh and---I didn't say 'his music was great'! I said he was a great talent.
He was a prolific songwriter, dancer, singer...I don't own a MJ recording.
I do think he was gifted though. End of story.

I feel sad that a thread like this exists.
Any loss of life unexpectedly is sad.
Sorry that you seem to feel otherwise.:confused3

That's a pretty dark trait..

This thread was started specifically so that the other MJ mourning thread could
stay on track...for those who are indeed mourning...

many folks have other opinions and this is just a place for them to express them without offending the others on the MJ has passed thread....

MJ was a very controversial celebrity....

wait did you wish death on people people in this thread?? I really pray that I am misreading your post b/c that is pathalogical

I feel bad for his kids/family and his fans. I'm sure they loved him and are sad he's gone. I think he was abused as a child but that doesn't give him a pass to abuse child

Don't forget he was found NOT guilty of those charges, in our justice system.

To each there own. you were giving facts about what the kids testified to about MJ privates does that make you change your mind about him.

being found not guilty and settling for millions of dollars are two very different things

Don't forget he was found NOT guilty of those charges, in our justice system.
But neither was OJ or even Robert Blake. Listen, people feel differently, they should be able to express themselves. The title of this thread is clear and a mod has asked to stop the argumentive posts....so this thread was created.

Count me in as one of the people who didn't feel sad when I heard the news.
As others have said, I thought of his kids and wondered what would happen with them. Maybe they will go to live with their Mom. Wasn't she a nurse who agreed (I'm sure for a price) to have MJ's kids and then just gave up custody of them to him :scared:

Remember the time MJ held his baby out over the balcony :scared1:

Weird guy

Karen :)

I find your comparison of child molestation to not feeling sad over the death of a quirky celebrity odd, but I suppose we all have a right to express our opinions. Which is why this thread was started. Not to slam anyone, but to express the fact that we are not affected by his death. People are sitting around crying like a dear member of their immediate family died, when it fact this was a complete stranger that the majority of these people have never met. I am sad when someone I love dies or is injured. I am less affected by complete strangers, especially those suspected of molesting children.

This thread was started ..to try and respect the other MJ thread...
Folks wanted to share their feelings....and they are free to express them here....
and if you think these posts are as slimy as molesting a child ...wow :sad2:

I do not hate MJ... I always felt great sadness for him....

OMG would you just allow adults to have an adult conversation??? Michael's freakishness was as real a part of who he was as was his great music. I'm not on this thread to "slam" him, but to dicuss things about him that bothered me. This thread was created out o respect to the offended peol on the other thread.

If this is "slimey", why don't you tell us how many days we should wait before we may talk about the "other parts" of his life.
