Not ROFR thread - general discussion

Does DVC Resale Market ever drop their prices significantly? I see some contracts I like, however their asking price is truly laughable (who even comes up with these numbers sometimes, wild...)

They give you their best recommendation for starting price but owners ultimate decide and in some cases, they want to list for more than even what is advised.

They tend to be on the higher side. But, I can say, that the one time I followed their advice, and did not go lower to start I got asking within days which was about $15/point more than where I had wanted to start.

I always like to think those high price outliers are a spouse doing malicious compliance.

Honey I have the contract for sale with a broker but its not just selling! I'll go ahead and book us a trip for F&W I guess....

This christmas dooney is my favorite dooney that gets tons of compliments (stock photo cuz Im not home)

My ultimate disney purse that gets the most compliments is halloween mickey. This is a special edition loungefly that sold out in seconds. Its not ideal to put stuff in as there's not a whole lot of room, but I like to bring it on Disney Halloween cruises when I go to dinners and stuff like that.

I imagine there are plenty of sellers who don't HAVE to sell and are all too willing to wait for the right sucker, er buyer, to come along. It is easy to imagine that this is like selling your house, where there is typically a reason that you really do need to sell it and the longer you wait, the more negotiable you are likely to become. Unless there are personal and/or financial reasons why you're selling your DVC contract, what's the rush?
