What a wonderful meet!

It was such a wonderful meet! We had a LOT of fun! Tom and I really hope that we will meet again some time in the future!

Karin, where do I begin?

Meeting you and Tom and Tina, Mark and Max was the most fun ever! Both Todd and I wish we could have stayed longer with all of you but he had to get back to work early the next day....bummer!

Any chance you will get to WDW in late May?

Can you believe Kathy is giving me grief for waking her up? I must have told her a million times that I would be calling her that morning so she could be there in voice if not in person...dont worry I will get her back when she comes to FL next month

The pictures look great! I hope you can find the one of us as a group...I bet that looks nice too!

Next time we have a meet we should do it on the beach at the Poly with some nice cocktails in hand! None of us ate a bit but I did notice that you snuck in your food plates...when did you do that? I bet it was Tom, he is a master photographer

I must tell you this, my oldest niece knows that I have a very large book collection (she is a very avid reader as well) and she comes over to stay with me all the time. She picked out the book from Austria that you and Tom gave us and started looking through it. She could not get over how gorgeous Austria was...every time she comes over that is the first thing she gets is that book. Being a Floridian kid she has never seen mountains, snow and green pastures like that before. Now her dream is to visit there one day....hmmmm...maybe her aunt could go with her??? I bet I know someone that could give us a tour!

The meet was definitely the BEST start to our vacation! We had so much fun and talk about it often - we really hope that we can repeat it some day!

Unfortunately late May is out of the question for me! But maybe we can lure you to WDW in September? Labor Day weekend would be fun to spend at WDW!

I know Tom takes great photos, but I am in charge of food photos! I think you didn't even notice that I snuck up to the buffet and took some photos! Well, I have learned from the BEST, YOU!!!!!!!!

Your niece has real good "vacation taste" and I think her aunt should come along - it's not good to let a young lady travel on her own!

And yes, Austria IS beautiful, but I have to warn you - it is NOT as sunny and warm as Florida.
Your tourguide is standing by - only waiting for the "go ahead" from you!

September 2 is our last day at WDWso if we could all meet up it would be something to look forward to and maybe we wouldn't be so sad We have absolutely no plans that day so I'm sure between us we can figure something out!!!

I am sure we can come up with something fun on September 2nd! I am really looking forward to it! Yippie!!!

YAY! You found the missing photo. I think it might be the only one of all of us. I'm with Nicki about drinks on the beach at Poly.... I don't think there was a single other meal that I ate less at (OK, possibly Garden Grill ) Now I feel like I need to get move on with my TR and get to the meet already!

Yes, I was really aggravated trying to make those dining reservations. That site kept giving me errors & I was too early to make ressies. I had to keep going from one place to another to be able to make reservations. The warm CM that I talked to on the phone made it all worthwhile.

Got Yachtman, 50's Prime Time, Chef Mickey's, Coral Reef, Le Cellier, Rose & Crown & finally Teppan Edo. Some for the kids & some for the adults

We all had a wonderful time at the meet and you would never have guessed that this was our first "face to face" meet! Some amazing people here on the DIS!!

Be careful - once you have got one you want MOOOOOOOORE!!!!!!!! I have NEVER had a bag that was so expensive, but now that I own several they are my favourite kind of bags, well together with my Vera Bradleys, which I wear to school, D&B are for going out!

I don't think any of us went to Cape May for the food , it was the company we were looking forward to! And the company was wonderful!

Glad you got all the ADRs you wanted. And your choices look pretty good! The Dining site seems to have problems lots of times - I had a hard time making my ADRs too!

I posted this on my summer pre-trip report too, so if you have already read it, please skip!

A little REAL LIFE update!

Now that we have been back from our half term vacation for 2 weeks already, life slowly returns back to normal.

It was a bit hard to go back the day after we returned from vacation, and Tom fell ill on Monday, so was home for a week.
I had a few extra things to do for school, I started my trip report and I worked on our photopass CD.
I usually pre-purchase a CD (love to save 50$ ) and we have as many photos taken as we can.
This year it was a bit different - yes, I did pre-purchase the CD, but made sure the code does not expire!
We had about 100 photos taken and went on the Wild Africa Trek, which added another 130 photos, and at the end we got a gift certificate including a code for a photopass CD. I asked if they would let us combine the photos and they said it was perfectly okay and to just go ahead.
So over the last 2 weeks I worked on the photos, putting every available border around it, but the system is constantly VERY slow and only today did I finish my work and let me tell you, I topped them all up to a whopping 997 photos!

So when I was done and had checked them again I went and tried if the code would work!
IT WORKED ........ THEY EVEN PAY FOR SHIPPING TO AUSTRIA!!!!!!!! Isn't that awesome? I love you Disney!
As soon as we receive the CD I'll post some of the photos, we have a few fun images in there!

The other Disney themed project I started this weekend was my first Fish Extender gift for this summer.
I can't reveal what it is going to be right now, as I do not know if any of my fellow cruisers stop in here but I can tell you that it is a knitted project and I made a prototype this weekend and it turned out to be real cute!
We need to come up with 7 different presents for our 11 day cruise, to not repeat the gifts for the back to back cruisers.
Tom and I like to give little home-made gifts daily, that's why we will need to do a LOT of presents!

And here are today's news!

Got an email from Disney photopass today!

They have already mailed out our CD - I cannot believe HOW FAST they work!
Can't wait for it to arrive! ​

And NOW it it time for planning the next trip!

Day 2, February 20

Friends, treats, a DREAM and finally a hotel room - Part 3

We changed our plans and decided against going to Epcot and instead drive to Downtown Disney.

It was only past 10am and when I had done online check-in I had noted that we would check in around midday.
Maybe our room would already be ready. Happily to have met such nice friends we walked back to the car and drove to Downtown Disney.
We found a spot right behind the Once Upon A Toy Store and started our exploration right there.

Walked through the store and were amazed on quite a lot of new merchandise. We then slowly made our way towards the World of Disney, where we checked for new merchandise too and found PLENTY of it.

I had a look at the Dooney and Burkes and there were several that looked interesting.

On the way back to the car we walked into the Ghirardelli Store, tried a milk chocolate caramel square and decided why not have an ice-cream sundae.

So we placed our order and picked up a bottle of cold water.

Tom ordered a Quake Shake - A chocolate bar infused milkshake. He chose Milk Chocolate and Peanut Butter with Vanilla Ice Cream,

while I ordered the Mint Bliss - one scoop of mint chip ice cream, one scoop of chocolate ice cream, dark chocolate hot fudge sauce, whipped cream and a square of Mint Bliss Intense Dark chocolate.
We were handed a stand with a number on it and went into the little ice-cream parlour to find a table. As soon as we had sat down at a table a couple came up and started taking photos of the picture on the wall.
We offered to get up, so we would not be in the photo should they decide to take a photo of the whole wall. By then the woman asked if we knew what a Hidden Mickey was and when we told her that yes, indeed we knew, she showed us a Hidden Mickey on it. We had sat close to this wall and the cable car a lot of times, but we had never noticed the Hidden Mickey and we quickly got up to take photos ourselves.

Shortly later our treats were delivered. They were delicious and huge and we both were defeated by them. By then it was past 12pm and we decided to push our luck and try to check in at the Coronado Springs Resort.

Yay for finding the picture! We all look great and a big thanks to Max - a Million for picking the perfect location to have our picture taken! Way to go Max!

I am so sorry Tom was not feeling well at the end of your trip, nothing is worse than being sick but to be sick at WDW is horrible! I sure hope he feels better and tell him not to do that on the next trip

Oh my, tons and tons of photopass pictures, wow are we all going to be in for a huge treat!

The mint sundae you had is right up my alley, I might try that after our Fultons dinner in May...although it is so hard to pass up my favorite peanut butter sundae...whats a girl to do? AHA..get Todd to order one and I order the other and we share...problem solved

You, my dear, have a purse addiction! I have yet to score one but maybe for our Oct trip I can buy my b-day present with Todd's money Look what you bought me babe, a new purse!

His reaction? Well it would go like this "You mean a trip to Disney isnt enough of a gift?"
