*NOT POLITICAL* Chelsea's Wedding

The ketubah is the Jewish marriage contract between groom and bride. It sets out the legal requirements for a Jewish marriage under Jewish law. It is signed before the ceremony itself, as part of the "engagement" ceremony. (There is no prohibition in Judaism to seeing the bride before the wedding. In fact, Jewish law requires it. As part of the ceremony, before going in to be married, the groom sees the bride and he is the one who covers her face with the veil. This is based on the story of Jacob in the Bible, who was tricked into marrying the wrong sister (Leah) rather than the one he loved (Rachel). The veiling ceremony is done to ensure that the groom is getting the right wife! I don't know if Marc and Chelsea did this part.)

I, too, was wondering what happened to the other bride!

Was what was written covered with paper so it would remain private? It just looked like a black scroll on a paper around nothing.

I'm glad the other weeding happened with no problems as well. They are likely the most famous non famous couple of the weekend!

Looks like a wonderful day for them. :)

But I gotta say, Chelsea definitely has some interesting looks......

What do you mean? Different looks on her face at different times?

I think everyone looks so happy and I love Chelsea's dress.

Unless I heard it directly from Chelsea I put this kind of thing in the "its not a fact" pile and scrap it

I watched Hillary in an interview shown by one of the morning new shows...I think it was the Today Show...and she did specifically say that Chelsea asked her father to lose 15 pounds for the wedding. She didn't give many details about the wedding because she said Chelsea has sworn her to secrecy but she did definitely mention that request.

What a beautiful wedding. Everyone looks so happy. I love Chelsea's dress.

:confused3 I thought that was odd too....not sure what poster meant :confused3

Well there you go that I would believe meaning if something is just on the internet or in a newspaper/mag I don't buy it but her mother saying it..then I would believe it..FWIW I think he looks great

I believe the reason Bill Clinton looks so grim (for lack of a better word) walking Chelsea down the aisle may be due to what he said in an interview recently. It was noted that he was known for being emotional, and he was asked if he was worried about tearing up/crying as he walked her down the aisle. He said he had been concerned about it and was going to do is best to NOT cry.....Because the second he teared up, it would become about HIM and not HER and that was not what he wanted on her wedding day. He didn't want the news stories to focus on how the "former President cried as he walked his daughter down the aisle." He wanted it to her her day. He just wanted to be the father of the bride. Not surprising, considering how much he dotes on her. I think he may have had to try VERY hard to keep his composure during that walk.

It was the Ketuba. They were married under a Chuppa, he wore his Tallis and Yarmulke. The seven blessings were recited by friends and family. All these are Jewish traditions. The ceremony was performed by both a Rabbi and a Methodist Minster.

Not sure if he broke the glass, but if they did all the above, I pretty sure he did!

I meant I kinda think her face is ugly

JMO..:confused3

Kinda looks like a moose.

To each is own. :thumbsup2

Of course to each his own BUT does everyone have to share EVERY thought that runs through their head? Is there no "censor" thread between the brain cells and the typing fingers :confused3

see this SO often here more & more the thread is going fine and then Bamm ! "just have to share an ugly thought" and FWIW I think she looks stunning but if I did not what is the purpose of saying that I don't? No need to answer..............its not a question just a very very tired observation...

Yes, I remember seeing this interview too. It must be extremely rough to be currently, THE two most high profile parents in the world, and try to give their daughter the private wedding she deserved, and keep the focus on her.

Obama said on The View, that he was NOT invited. When he was asked, he actually seemed surprised, like the thought never occurred to him that he would have been invited. He said he understood that the Clinton's wanted this to be about Chelsea, and not about HIM at the wedding. He also said, he's informing various news people now, some won't be invited to his daughter's wedding, as it will be private and about them.

The Gores didn't attend either, since their announced break-up and the scandal with that masseuse in his room. (The investigation ended yesterday, BTW. The police investigation said there was lack of credible proof to support anything wrong.) They also didn't want to pull focus from Chelsea's day.

Sure, but where I come from, you just don't remark on a bride's looks if you can't say something nice.

I think she looks better with curly hair, but I wasn't going to post that.

You're right, though, to each his own. I just thought it was tacky and rude to say that about her wedding pictures. You obviously didn't.

Stop feeding the negative people. That's HOW they gain significance, by being negative and trying to pull focus. This is prabably a pattern they do in real life, too. Sad really. Let's not let this girl make this thread about her remark. Just Ignore, Ignore, Ignore. :surfweb:

You're absolutely right ..in fact I am starting to think I need to send you a PM post when I feel I'm getting to that point (just kidding wouldn't want to fill the PM box :rotfl:)

Anyone see the pics of B&H going to the after party? Hilary's dress was horrendous - a gigantic green mumu.:scared1:
