When DD was younger she had a melt down day at Epcot which resulted in me giving her a time out on a patch of grass. And a later melt down while waiting to get into the character meal at Norway which led to a magical moment of us sitting on a bench, her dressed like snow white, sniffling with her head in my lap, while I brushed her hair until she fell asleep. And the people who came off the ride kept going awwwww.
Now when ever we go back I point out that time out patch of grass and the sobbing bench. To her tweenage embarrassment.

, from before I can remember, so I am sure there are some doozy meltdowns in there. Here are two I remember.

Once she got something in her, of course, she'd realize that whatever had set her off was not such a big deal, after all, and do this sheepish, "nevermind."
It happened last year at Illuminations. About 60 minutes before the show my husband decides to take his parents on Mission Space. All day Dh had been trying to make sure his folks had a good time and was dragging them everywhere, back and forth across the park. His Dad's knee was starting to bother him. I suggested that he did not really have time to go on the ride and watch Illuminations and if they did make it back it would be difficult to find us. Nope he wanted them to go on the ride and they would for sure be back in time. So I took both the boys to our agreed upon spot to watch the show.
I have since apologized to him many times. Ugg not my finest moment!
He is very independant and wants to go everywhere we do...we saw Chip and Dale in Tomorrowland and wanted to grab a quick photo with them. We park the stroller and get in a relatively short line. My DW realizes she left the autograph book and walks quickly back over to the stroller to get it (It was maybe 15 ft away). Our son realizes she has "gone somewhere" without him and starts wailing...he has a complete breakdown, even after she comes back and tries to explain to him that the stroller was within eyesight and she needed to go fast...he continues to cry...(he can be unreasonable at times...same kid who had a fit the same trip because we threw some trash away that HE wanted to throw away himself! Thank God, he is much better now at age 4!!) We get up to Chip and Dale and they try to soothe him, rubbing his back...trying to make him laugh...he was having NONE of it...finally they shrug their shoulders and we take a picture anyway! Our pics are of us trying to smile through the anger that he has aroused by this time and him with his arms wrapped around my DWs legs and his back to the camera...lol...After we left the line (I'm sure ALL of the people behind us were glad to see us gone!) my DW had a mini meltdown of her own and stomped off to the bathroom by herself. I took our son by the hand and told him that Mommy needed a break and let's go walk around and see what we can see...he stopped crying and enjoyed walking around with me...DW came out of the bathroom and apologized to DS for losing her temper with him....we had a great rest of the trip! We've been back twice since then and anytime we feel stressed or our DS starts getting antsy or "whiney" we take a sit down break and enjoy the scenery...works every time!
