Last Friday...a woman came up the escalator at ALB and took one look at the screening line to show id and rolled her eyes. She proceded to ask the male security gaurd closest to her if ther was any way she could get in front of the line(she was not in a weelchair, nor complained of any physical ailment-she just did not want to wait). He said no, go to the end of the line.

The woman looked left...the line was about 60-70 people long(single file but was moving quickly). And proceeded to walk to the female security gaurd 3 feet away-again she offered no reason why she could not wait...just didn't want to. Again told no.

So she walked a whole 6 feet to me(mother with 2 children in tow)who is now about 5 people from showing my Id..."could I get in front of you?" I'm thinking ...who does this princess think she is?...I looked at the line and said..."No, you can stand in the line like every one else. It really moves much faster than it looks."(I was pleasant..but firm). She pouted, rolled her eyes and walked to the end of the line.

The guy behind me (an inexperienced travler who I was walking through the procedures) dropped his jaw, "I would have never said that...but you are right it would have been unfair."...I said it's ok, it's 5am...and I am just not in the mood for this princess stuff. ;)

Don't you just love that... and then there is the group that arrives at the airport 20 minutes in advance and gets REALLY put out that the people waiting won't let them move to the front. The problem is it's a snowball. Every time you let someone in front you get pushed back and pretty soon you are late and paniced. LOL!

I had one of those behind me a few weeks ago (she was about 6 people back so I didn't deal with her directly) the guys in line wouldn't let her by to "get to the front" She arrived and announced her plane left in 10 minutes. As one guy said "they already closed the door" As we stood there it came out she was late because she was in the bar in the main concourse with a "really cute guy who I think might be rich" LOL!

I had two instances like that happen in the MK.

A kid about 10 years old walks in front of me in a line. I ask him what he was doing and he says getting in line. I point to the end and he leaves. Then this guy shows up wanting to know what I'm doing to his son. I said pointing to the the end of the line. He looks at me as says he's from NYC. I said that's nice I'm from Chicago. He looks at me and walks away.

The other one was when we are waiting in line for Liberty Tree restaurant. The days before PS. A menu is being passed down the line back to front and a woman is following it. It gets to me I look at it and give it to the person in front of me. This woman gets in line in front of me and I ask what is she doing. Says she is following the menu so she can look at. I take the menu and pass it backwards and in a loud voice said she is following the menu. She went to the back........mad.

#1 Huh? :confused3 I'm from NY too...and so why would that boy (and father) do that...you cannot explain some people. I applaud you for being firm, but polite!!!
#2 Go get your own menu...and wait at the end of the line....following the menu my...(you know what). Good job again!!! :cheer2:

I don't know why but I always find it un-be-freaking-lieveable that people have enough chutzpah to try to pull that kind of stuff. I travel frequently and have never seen anything like that. What drives me crazy is the people who either have no clue or look like they do and yet still aren't ready to go through security.

AAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH

My favorite occured several years ago in Epcot.

These two older women were PUSHING thier way to the front YELLING "SENIOR CITIZEN" as they went. They got to us and my friend made herself a human barrior. They were really trying hard to SHOVE her down. She asked them what they thougth they were doing and they gave the "Senior Citzen" line and claimed that at Disney that gave you front of the line rights. At this point my friend and I just completely blocked the aisle and pointed out that they were not correct. They then proceeded to call us several names that cannot be posted here. When we got to the ride loading, they went directly to the CM and demanded that we be thrown out of the park for blocking thier path. We just got on the ride and left them, no one hunted us down at the ride exit to throw us out however.

#1 I think he was trying to intimidate me. You know the big city tough guy thing.

I can't verify it but I have heard there are people from other countries who don't know what a line is. They just walk to the front as a group.

I think he was trying to see if you both had something in common and that some how this might be OK with you(if you were both from NYC)

By any chance was that at the end of Sept '04...because I swear that would be something my MIL and her friend would cook up...because my MIL's friend is very pushy, but she can not yell, so I bet my MIL would.

That is beyond rude. :rolleyes1 Too bad you didn't report them for being line jumpers ;) and they could have gotten thrown out :rotfl2: -althought I know no CM is going to throw out 2 line cutting senior citizens :confused3

I didn't have to report them, they reported themselves. They TOLD the CM that they were "moving to the front of the line" becasue they were Senior Citizens. The poor girl seemed speechless at this announcement.

I think it is funny when we're waiting in the line at the SWA gate & someone just nonchalantly sidles up and tries to make conversation with anyone near the front of the line. Then they try to keep talking & talking so no one will notice that they didn't line up when the rest of us did. DH doesn't fall for it, he might chat a bit & then says "well, nice talking with you but don't let me keep you since the line is getting really long" or something like that. It never fails, happens to us at least once per trip.

Or those that decide that they have A passes and they should just keep sitting until the A line starts boarding & join the line from the point nearest their seats. That's another princess moment, imo!
