Not leaving you in the lurch!!!

she just asked a simple question...why do so many people feel its their job to respond in a nasty way?it was HER trip, if she feels that she had a bad time that is not going to change by responding ina nasty way....remember what mom said "if you cant say nothing nice........" as for the op, yes write a letter...i had a very bad time a few years back...long story, but i did write a letter and they gave me a free night at the resort on our next trip (no i did not ask for it) so at least write a letter. good luck :wave2:

I wonder if this is the info the OP was waiting for? This reminds me way too much of the woman who posted she got park passes because they showed Hallowishes instead of Wishes. Otherwise, why let something like this posess you to the point it ruins your vacation?

Last minute is relative. Disney was aware at least two days in advance (based on that they publish the week's schedule at the beginning of the week, so print it at least one day before that) that SpectroMagic would not run 11/6. Guests reading the printed schedule before that day would be aware of the change - with more accuracy than a Guest relying on website information at least six days old.

I will be checking the times guide that day. And even if Spectro is cancelled, (knock on wood,) I'm not going to WDW to see Spectro on my birthday. I'm going to WDW so I can be in WDW on my birthday. Spectro is just a bonus.

Since this is a rehasing of an old 'complaint' thread, I'm bumping it over to C-Board. It isn't really a TPA&S thread since the original 'question' received several (!!) replies already, with the same response from the OP as we're seeing here.

It has become a 'rant' thread (which is fine) rather than a TPA&S thread, so off you go.

i would not just assume she wants something, we dont even know her....they did offer a free night but i did not ask for it...as a matter of fact the bad time was not all their fault...i fell and broke my foot at mk...i just let them know they should make sure all the lighting was working the right way (stair lights were not on and they shut ALL the lights off for a parade) i also let them know that people were there to help me right away and take me to the hospital.they just did it to be nice i guess.... :cheer2:

I have been very busy since we have been home. Also trying to get ready for the holiday. Sorry I did not respond so quickly to my thread.

I am amazed at some of the replys. I asked a simple question!!! Which some of you did not answer, all you basically did was give opinions. Some of you basically said i was felling sorry for my self, which is definitly not the case. I did go to WDW after all.We did have some great memories, but alot of the problems were do to the CM and the organization of things. I suppose I was expecting things to be smoother and the people nicer. Unfortunately I still have a bad taste in my mouth. As far as my recent threads ,yes we did have problems with the dining plan, and yes they did cancel the showing of spectro that we planned on seeing.
So many people just think if you do things your way (DISERS) there shouldn't be any problems. FYI about Spectro: During the time of my planning of 10 months,I planned things accordingly to the schedule given to us by WDW. Our twin sons turned 10 on Nov 6th, their choice for their b'day was MK, so I planned dinner at Tony's at 5:00 then planned on finding a spot for Spectro with Wishes to follow. As of OCT 31, everything was still good. NO NEED TO CHANGE PLANS!!!! So we went on with the next 1,2,3,4,5 knowing Spectro would be on the 6th as planned. That morning at breakfast I went to get the schedule for the week. Low and behold NO SPECTRO for the 6th, it was canceled. Not another showing until the 9th, the day we leave. So had I known, of course we would of changed things around. I WAS JUST FOLLOWING THEIR SCHEDULE!!!!!!! This was very hard for me to tell my MIL and FIL ,after they had waited so long to see it, and as everyone else was excited. When I came home, the next day, I went on to WDW site. SPECTRO STILL WAS SCHEDULED FOR NOV 6th at 7:00. Was I the only one thinking they were going to watch it that night probably not. We still had tues, wed, no chance. So do I have a right to be upset, I think I do. As well as anyone else who planned their trip around WDW schedule. They are suppose to be the dream makers, what gives them the right to tell us,their guests, we have the right to change anything we want at any time, even though we have been telling you for months these are our plans.

If we have a MUST DO on any vacation--we make that one of the first things we do. That way if something happens--we won't be disappointed b/c we already got to do what we wanted.

I was on vacation in Hawaii. They had an earthquake. Talk about a vacation disruption.

For all you know--they could have had a technical glitch or something and IN those schedules it says "ENTERTAINMENT SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE" or something to that affect. I'm sorry that it affected your family so personally.

It happens--humans are running a place on actual electricity and not magic. Sometimes stuff happens.

A stunt show at Universal had to be shutdown b/c a performer got stuck in something and received minor injuries. They shut it down b/c they need to find out what went wrong and make sure that it doesn't happen again. Safety of performers and guests are priority #1. The show is priority #2.

I happen to thing that Spectromagic itself is worth the price of admission, so I have to say that if I planned my trip around seeing it and it was cancelled, I would be pretty upset.

That said, I have Spectro planned very early in our trip, so if something happens and it is cancelled I will still have several days to make sure I see it. I think we all have to be aware of our "must do's", and fit them in early. Then, everything you get to do after that is gravy!

They changed the spectro nights on us last week as well! The website showed it was playing on Tues the 14th, but when I grabbed the times guide that morning it wasnt scheduled until thursday! I was sooo glad we decided to see it on the Saturday night before. That Tues the 14th was our last night and we were looking so forward to ending our trip with Spectro. If we hadn't seen it earlier I would have been very upset. It doesnt seem right to keep it up on the website and change it a day or two before. I can understand why you are upset about it, i know we planned our ADRs and park days around the schedule on the website. When you don't have hoppers, the posted schedule on the website is how many of us plan our trips esp for things like Spectro that dont show every night.

OT, but my best friend was there and left THE DAY BEFORE. I can't imagine going through THAT on vacation.

Except that it has history over on the TPA&S board, which leaves a lot of people on the CB board wondering what the heck is going on!!!! Why drop this here???

Except, now I want to hear the arrest story too! popcorn::

Think about it, though. How many Guests are using the website for confirmation of a particular event on the day of that event, vs. how many Guests are using the printed schedule, or verbal information from Cast Members?

Actually, it sounds like the issue is with the disneyworld.com website administrator/s who never updated the online calendar - although on both the main calendar page and the daily schedule page, it does state "operating hours are subject to change"

Specto's good, but is it really worth bawling like a baby over

Well, in the grand scheme of things it does sound like the OP took way too much to heart and seems to be fixating (sp!) on the negatives of her trip.

However, I do have to say that I can understand getting upset when something planned doesn't go the way you thought it would, especially when it involves your children. I am a very emotional person and tend to cry at the drop of a hat for the good and the bad (believe me, I wish I didn't, but I just can't seem to help myself, - I even cry at Disney commercials!) Anyway, we were at MK and waiting to see the fireworks, and I found the perfect spot to watch Tink fly, since DD absolutely adores Tink. I told her and DS all about it, and we waited with so much anticipation, and guess what? Tink didn't fly that night!! DD was heartbroken, all because Mommy forgot that there are times that she doesn't fly (weather conditions, although in all honesty it seemed like a good flying night) and hyped it up too much (after keeping the whole trip a secret, too! And then I forgot to keep this as a secret in case it didn't work out. Where is a smilie of me banging my head on a wall when I need one? LOL!). Well, needless to say I got a little teary, too, although I couldn't really cry since I needed to comfort my DD. (I didn't have a meltdown, though, and I certainly didn't blame Disney or let it ruin my memories of our wonderful trip - I just learned a little lesson!) Anyway, just my $.02!

That's understandable. Getting a little teary is one thing (and I know it stinks to not see Tink, we seem to catch Wishes more without her than with her), but when someone says they had a meltdown and bawled like a baby. I think of that scene in Wedding crashers where the bridesmaid takes a tantrum and Vince Vaughn screams-- get that kid to toys r us. That's not a little teary to me. That's why I responded the way I did. I can certainly understand being disappointed.

I had a hard time reading the OP, so I'm not sure if you did this. But did you check the schedule when you got to WDW? Even though I plan according to the official website, this website & others, once I am on property, I get a schedule of park opening & closings, parades etc. Even if I don't get a map, I always get one of those.

I'm sorry the trip wasn't perfect. But things happen. Bad weather, mechanical break downs, etc. WDW can't (and doesn't) guarantee that everything will go according to schedule, but there are things we can do so we don't get too disappointed.

To the OP, I would be upset as well to miss wishes, but I would not have bawled like a baby. I think people are being like they are because of the way you word things. You are making it sould like your whole trip was ruined because of not seeing Wishes, and not completely understanding the DDP. You sound very negative to a group of people who are one here because of their love for Disney. Maybe before you post, reread what you wrote, and see if it sounds negative. You also say things like my friend got arrested, but never elaborate. If it makes you feel better, please write to Disney. Although, like many posters said, it is better to do it when it first happens, when you are on Disney property still, rather than when you are home. I hope, if you take another trip to WDW, that is a magical time. :wizard:
