Not leaving you in the lurch!!!

Hi Dina,

I think I just saw a post of yours on another thread I responded to - the one about how many days to spend in WDW? I recognized the pic of your little ones - they are so cute!

Anyway, I'm sorry if it came across like I was responding negatively to your post - I actually totally agree with you that the OP's reaction was way over the top - and I love your analogy to the Wedding Crashers LOL!

Why do disers always have to gang up on people?
The op's complaints may seam trivial to some of you guys but they are real to them or they wouldnt have posted on here.

My mom and I just got back from our trip oct 26-nov18 and have several things we are going to write disney about.

Not one thing ruined our trip, in fact this past trip was one of our best yet, but still disney needs to hear about our problems.

One problem was that although we asked for and were granted by the manager a 1pm checkout at pofq, the housekeeper came in the room 3 times between 10:30 and 12:50 with the do not disturb sign on, with the third time, she came in screaming in swahili? and then said WHEN YOU CHECKING OUT? for the third time we said 1pm, to that she yelled MAKES NO SENSE and then left.

No matter the issue it will help you feel better to know at least your complaint was read by someone. I do anyhow.

First, your issue is a valid complaint. Hopefully, you called the manager.

Second, not all DISers are ganging up on her. Above, the number of members is listed as somewhere above 100,000. That's a lot of people and you're lumping them all together which isn't fair to everyone on this board, either. Just something to remember. ;)

As has been posted here, in the earlier thread the OP started, and numerous times in response to various threads: It is best and most effective to let Disney (or any business) know of a problem WHILE YOU'RE THERE, or WHILE IT'S HAPPENING. Then they can do something about it - in this case, contact housekeeping and make the room cleaner aware that you would be staying in the room until 1 PM. An additional option to the do not disturb sign (are you sure it was there the entire time? because it goes in the same slot as the room-access card - so the housekeeper would have had to remove the sign, insert her card, then replace the sign - three times) might have been to put the safety lock on. Then, yes, the door could have been opened a couple of inches each time, but nobody could have gotten IN to the room.

Writing now can't hurt, but except for notifying housekeeping of late checkouts, I'm not sure what you expect Disney to do. Oh, and I'm impressed that you understand Swahili - at least enough to recognize when that's the language being spoken.

Actually, I really don't think anyone is "ganging up" on anyone else. I think that if you have a complaint, and you want to address it in writing, then by all means do so. I hate it when I receive bad customer service, and my feeling is that companys do (or at least they should!) want to know when their employees do not live up to their customers' expectations.

The OP has posted in several different threads about problems she experienced in Disney World. In them, she is upset about SpectroMagic being cancelled the night she planned to go and she was also not happy with the DDP. She also described a very strong reaction to the SpectroMagic cancellation. I, for one, was responding to the reaction she described, which in my opinion was a bit over the top, not about her desire to write a letter. If you post on the boards, you should expect people to comment on anything in your post, and sometimes they won't agree with you. That's life on a web board, as long as it's done without name calling or personal attacks, of course. Please note that I did not say the OP was over the top, just that particular reaction.

So IS the arrest story posted somewhere? It's been days and I keep seeing posts that it's coming, didn't know if I missed it somewhere or if it's still in production.

Why - when several people agree -does it get labelled as 'ganging up on'?

I come to my own conclusions myself, I don't take the lead from anyone else. The OP posted, people have responded with their individual thoughts. We all think for ourselves - we don't have gang meetings to decide our opinions.

I've been following these threads, too, and I'm waiting to hear the arrest story. I'm not sure that we're going to it, though. I'm interested to hear it so I'll keep waiting...

I had a rude encounter like that once. I had used up all the days on my park pass, so I had planned to wait in my room until just before 11:00, so I would be able to watch tv, finish packing, etc. At around 10:00, I had a snappy guy ask me when I was planning on getting out. Usually I don't wait until the last minute to leave the room. But, being solo, I had nothing better to do. So this really bugged me. Why would they start banging on doors before the check-out time?

I'm going to subscribe just to hear the arrest story also.

It's really too bad that you feel all these things ruined your trip. OP, did anything positive happen while you were there?

Well, the original thread & this thread were posted on the Theme Park Board. The OP may not know that this thread was moved & may have posted over there.

She was on again late last night, but still no update on the arrest. It's been what, almost two weeks since the first posting? I'm interested to hear the story, but am skeptical we ever will. There's been enough time elapsed at this point that it's fair to suggest that some details may have become…what should I say…"fuzzy" by now anyway.

I don't think he was ever arrested! It just added some more drama to the situation. Jerry! Jerry!
