Not impressed with the current fastpass system

WDW tried being lenient with the FP an dpeople abused it so they have came up with this system and are enforcing it. so it is what it was suppose to be like all along...if one has a ADR and the FP they get falls into that time then give it to the next person and make life simpler. agree with the other poster planing is crucial if on short stays

nope. If they'd wanted this all along, they'd have made that their policy.

Disney is getting ready to roll out an entirely new FP system.

Enforcing FP times is just the beginning.

We cannot rely on uknown source,.. of course unless it supports our argument somehow, then why not to give them benefit of doubt ;)...

You don't. You wait a few minutes longer and exchange it with someone else for one that is just a little later or you just wait until the time works and get one then or, and this is pretty radical here, you get in the standby line and go to the attraction that way. But, your right there is no reason that those two completely different things should ever overlap. What are they thinking? Didn't they know that you wanted both? What is wrong with them. Nothing in your real life ever overlaps.

Exactly! I laugh at all these people who fret over FP....do they ONLY do FP on rides that take it - never standing in a regular line? What the heck would they have done when THERE WERE NO FASTPASSES? Holy cow, imagine, just standing in one line with everyone else - AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! HOW CAN I DO THAT? HOW DARE THEY, I DESERVE A FP, IT IS OWED ME!!!!!!!
:lmao: :rotfl:  :rotfl2:

Seriously, though, how do these people deal with life???? it's sad how entitled our society has become

I wish someone would tell me what is it will be like!!! I hear so many different stories I have no idea what this system will really be like.

Nobody knows.

I can guess that whatever the "system" will be, it will affect ALL guests.

It will reduce the number of FastPasses available for "walk-up" guests.
And, it can't help but increase the wait-time for those in the standby lines.

I know there is only speculation but will it be something extra we can pay for or will we need to saty at a particular resort to use it? I am game for anything that will keep from having to get up at the crack of dawn and running with the bulls to get TSM or Soarin FP.

if one has a ADR and the FP they get falls into that time then give it to the next person and make life simpler.

It shouldn't even have to get to that point. If someone has an ADR, and they see the Fast Pass distribution time falls within that ADR, then they should use common sense and not get the Fast Pass.

Seriously, the lengths some people will go to in order to avoid just standing in line like millions of other people before them have done is borderline hilarious.

It's just a shame that some people can't have fun unless it's 100% their way. Go with the flow and learn to improvise.

As Robo said, no one knows. Speculate all you want, everyone has different opinions and none of them matter. This exact question has been discussed ad nauseum here for months.

1- I know there is only speculation but will it be something extra we can pay for or will we need to saty at a particular resort to use it?

2- I am game for anything that will keep from having to get up at the crack of dawn and running with the bulls to get TSM or Soarin FP.

1- Nobody knows.

2- All I can say is that you should be careful what you wish for.

(BTW, there is no longer a rope drop at DHS and Epcot, so there is no more "bull-running.")

Just keep in mind that the easier it is to get that TSMM FP, the more people you'll be competing with for those ride slots..... and the fewer ride slots there will be left for regular "day of" Fp's and standby.

This could definitely be a case of "be careful what you wish for....."

The old system was a pain. But at least you knew that if you DID get up early, you could do the ride without a crazy long standby wait. I'm not sure that will continue to be true when the new system rolls out. There could also be a fair degree of luck required.

Sorry I am little slow this morning would please elaborate for me.:) Why is there no rope drope or fighting for TSM FP's? I have not been to WDW since July '11 so I am clueless to what is going on there. Also has or will any of this effect Jedi training? TIA

It will be interesting to see as new attractions are opened that change crowd distribution and the effect on the FP system and coming FastPass+ or whatever the new name turns out to be.

And people are right, no one knows for sure. For all we know, it may be a better system in the long run and all this hand wringing and nay-saying will be for naught. Just as some early doomsday predictions for fastpass enforcement have turned out to been wrong.

I'm imagining the 180 day mad scramble to get the limited advance slots available for TSMM, and if we don't get them that day, we'd be out of luck because the reduced amount of in-park FPs would run out by 10am.

How much longer do you think you will see such a high demand for TSMM? Do you think that part of the demand is that it is a "new" ride opened in 2008? I am headed to WDW tomorrow and I know the only reason I will ride it is because it was not there on my last visit.

Until DHS opens another headliner attraction that appeals to all age groups.

I agree. The demand is still ridiculous, but I don't think it will drop significantly until there is another major family ride in DHS.

Do you think that is the only factor? What part do you think the newness of the ride plays?

I'd say it's the major factor.

I'd place the novelty of it the next in line even though it's four years old now. The Toy Story franchise has done very well around the globe and there will likely never be a shortage of new guests to Disney, so you're right I don't see the novelty wearing off anytime soon.

It also doesn't hurt that the attraction can be updated occasionally with new game sequences for relatively little cost, keeping it fresh.
