Black Friday Sales are not so impressive this year.. Anyone else agree??

I thought for sure with the downfall of the economy that there would be some Extra Special Sales going on around town to help all of us get back some Spirit, and yet, I see maybe 1 or 2 things..

I'm sadden by this, cause normally I'm up showered dressed and out the door by 5am.. This year, looks like I'll be sleeping in..

:confused3

You and me both! I wasn't planning on camping anyway, but there is nothing worth sitting outside all night at Best Buy for this year.

Target has a few things I'm needing - Monopoly World Edition ($20), Air Hog helicopter ($15), tub of Legos ($10), a few movies, and something else that I'm not remembering right now.

This Black Friday might be the first Black Friday in over a decade that I won't be shopping. It's a combination of the fact that we're cutting back on gift giving, the budget is tight, and there are not doorbusters that are appealing to me this year.

I wonder if Cyber Monday will have some good deals with free shipping?

I'm pretty sure that the Target prices are good for both Friday and Saturday, and they are not doorbusters so you don't have to be there at 5 AM. But, check the ad first to make sure this is correct! :)

Thank you! If you're right, I can hit somewhere else first!

I was so geared up! We were going to get a new TV and a new camera and a new laptop and a new...

but the prices just are not Black Friday prices to me. I am still getting a camera, but only because ours was stolen. And it isn't a doorbuster so I don't have to get up early.

The most, I may do is go to Staples for the $99 monitor for our desk top.. it is $100 off.. but.. at the same time.. a normal sale would probably bring the price down close to the $99 anyway

:sad2:

Someone here posted that many stores aren't advertising their best sales because of the near riots that happen. I forgot to get a paper today so I don't know what is on sale anywhere :scared1:

I just got an email that Bed Bath and Beyond is giving 20% off your entire purchase (not just one item) on Friday from 6-10 AM.

You know....I have never been out shopping on Black Friday before. :scared1: I was going to give it a try, but DH and I were shopping today and happy with the items we got. I think I may decorate for Christmas and try to visit a few friends on Friday instead.

Any sale is a good sale!

Besides, my best friend and I Black Friday shop for the sport.

We'll be wearing our powderpuff sweats and shirts.

You can look up any store on the web and they all seem to have the black friday cirular on the front page

nope not impressed here either. I am going to walmart (not by choice) on BF I wont be getting anything much.. I can't believe I'm going to walmart on bf.. it scares me a little. Other years I did KB Toys but ours closed. Last year I traveled to go to KB this year.. eh I think I can do better if I watch for online sales. Tomorrow I'm hitting Kmart for a few things... vsmile games b1g1free. A few moves for 4$ I'd be up anyway putting the bird in.

With the economy being what it is, retailers will not drop their prices considerably until just before Christmas.. For now they are hoping and praying that people will pay whatever it is that they are advertising.. When they don't get the huge turns outs for Black Friday that they're hoping for, the prices will drop little by little - until the really good prices are offered just before Christmas - "make it or break it" time for them..

If ever there was a year to hold out until the last minute to do as much of your shopping as you can, this would be that year..

I am looking for a good buy on a monocolor laser printer for term papers and documents. Laser is better on ink since it uses toner. Walmart has a small GE microwave for $25 so I am getting that.

I am not planing to gou at all this Black Friday at all.
