Not impressed with B&C at all

I was thinking about trying BC for lunch on our arrival day...we are staying at the Dolphin. Hw far a walk is it...but after reading these posts maybe I shouldn't go at all?

If it you appeals to you go. There isn't a place at WDW immune to dissatified customers. I'm sure even Victoria & Albert's has theirs.

We enjoy B&C. We like the burgers, grilled cheese & onion rings. It's not always the best service, but we were never treated rudely either. That said, we have had bad experiences everywhere on property at some point or another over the years, but they won't know what to correct if you don't make a complaint. I would definitely write and complain.

How far a walk is it from Dolphin to BC...or should we drive. This is for July heat. But basically we are walkers.

Try Beaches and Cream. We usually stay at the BC, so we eat at B&C almost every trip. Last couple times the food was good, but I agree the service stinks.

Last time we went we waited 30 minutes for a table then find out they are out of french fries. Why didn't the hostess tell us this when we put our name in? The kids, and I were upset. We love the french fries and if we knew they were out that night, we would have come back another night. :furious: But I'm sure we'll eat there again when we go in October.

The walk from the Dolphin isn't far about 10-15 minutes.

It is quicker to walk IF you go out the door by the valet parking, turn right, and walk through the parking lot. There is a path to the Yacht Club. Go through the YC lobby straight through and out the back, turn left and follow the walkway to B&C

Although, the Fountain at the Dolphin is comparable (a tad cheaper, IIR) and has this great apple pie caramel sundae. So good!!!

The service at B&C has gone downhill. Years ago it was so good. The last time we were there, the hostess was horrible and almost rude to people.

I hope they turn around and go back to the wonderful place it was

We have found the service lacking of late there as well. We have been staying at either the YC or BCV since 1995. On numerous occasions we have mentioned to mgmt either in person or through the surveys that B & C needs to be enlarged. Management is NOT listening. The stupid arcade does not need to be that big, and/or they could take some space from Ariels as well. They obviously have their reasons for not doing so.

I have been to B&C a few times. But never eaten there. :rotfl2: Each time the wait was an hour +, so we went by our ADR-less stand by -- Big River Grill.
And funny thing is the most recent time was just this afternoon. (Mid afternoon and still a long wait.)
Went first to B&C. Hour plus wait.
I did not think Captain's Grill was open yet, but gave it a try. They did not open until 5:30.
So Big River Grill is where we went. :thumbsup2

my take is the food at beaches and cream is ok. the service is below average. the place is not relaxing because it is small and cramped, and other than the kitchen sink, there are other places to get better food and ice cream.

My husband and I ate there last week. The host told us it would be about 40 minutes and we were ok with that because we'd looked forward to it so much. The host was an older gentleman (not a teen), and after about 40 minutes the buzzer did go off. He told us that he had a seat for us at the counter. However, when we went in there were more than a few tables empty and he sat us at the counter. I was wondering firstly why did we just wait 40 minutes if there are other tables open and why we had to sit at the counter. The counter I didn't mind and that was probably because there are just 2 of us, but the wait?? I think the hosts don't have a clue and aren't trained properly. Our waitress was great and my chili fantastic. My husband had chicken soup and it was a small bowl and not so great. The burgers looked good, but we didn't order them. The icecream was just so so, but we didn't have fancy flavors. The No way Jose and sundaes looked really good and I wished I'd tried them. I ordered the mickey sundae and thought I'd get hot fudge on it. It doesn't come with that, but it's very cute with the oreos for ears.

Well, it always bites when you have a fun activity planned & it doesn't go the way you hope! Sorry that happened to you OP....I would have been annoyed too!!

B & C is one of the places we have planned to eat at too....one of my guys is dying to get his hands on the Kitchen Sink!! Ice cream for dinner!

You know the Disney restaurants are no different than the restaurants we all have around home. Some of us can go to a certain restaurant many times and just love it and others can go there just once and have a bad experience and never want to go back again. I think we have all experienced this. I will never go back to Outback again because of a bad experience, but other people love it. It is too bad when we go to a restaurant and the staff and food are below par and it sours us on that place. I think the difference with the Disney restaurants is that we tend to hold them to a higher level. B&C is one of my favorite restaurants and I'm sorry that those who experienced it at it's worst didn't have the opportunity to experience it at it's best.
