Not happy with CRO

Called them today for 5 adults, 2 rooms in AS-Music, for July 19, 2 nights. That's a Fri/Sat night.

The rack rate was $99 per nite per room.
AP rate was $83.25. Fair enough. (Did anyone get cheaper than this price?)
I asked about AAA rate, the lady told me 'be honest, you'll have to prove it'. (kinda rude, isn't it?)
I told her I have it all.

Then I was transferred to the Travel Agent for DC rate. The lady told me $135 for the first room, and $110 for the 2nd room! How is this even possible? I asked and asked, and she said because the 1st room will have 3 occupants, therefore, I'm charged $10 addition per night. That's more expensive than the rate they first quote me.

I thought AS legally allowed 4 adults? Why am I being charged?

Not very helpful at all. I asked her to verify, and pretty much she said 'take it or leave it'. I was not happy about the service at all. I hang up, and almost want to cancel my trip.

I never understand why CRO is so un-Disney. I can see why they don't want to give up cheapest rate up front. But if their attitude is: keep calling back and try your luck, that's not cost effective for them either. If I get good rates on the first try, I'd booked immediately. Now, I'm wasting my longD bill, and they're wasting time to stock up all the phone operator.

Just want to vent. CRO used to be very useful and friendly. Now it's just going downhill.

Call back, I think I had to call 3 times before I got a very helpful CM that took the time to ckeck about 4 codes for me and found me a cheaper rate for CBR than I was going to pay for ASMo.

CRO is hit or miss. Some people are nice and others are not. We are surprised because Disney is supposed to = friendly. I don't know about the different rates for the AS, but I do know that most hotels will charge you for a third and forth adult in the room. The rates are double occupancy. This is not just Disney's policy, most hotels have this. Just call back, chances are you'll get helpful CM.;)

CRO is right in charging you for the extra adult. I don't agree with it but that is what most hotels do. Yes, the room holds 4 but you will have to pay for any adult over the 2 already there. The room holds 2 adults and 2 under 18. All the resorts charge extra for any adult over 2 in the room.

This isn't much help, but the $110 might be the the same as the $99. $110 is the $99 with the tax added. I'm not sure how they came up with $135 though. DC sometimes adds in insurance, unless you tell them you don't want it.

If you have the Disney club, you can use the toll free number. I don't have it handy, but I'm pretty sure it's on the back of the card. It makes up a little bit for the less than stellar service you sometimes get.

AAA rates are generally the same as DC unless there is a special promotion, like there is for packages in the Fall.

CRO has gone terribly downhill in the past 2 years. I have no idea why and the excuse that there are new people is getting very old. As a long-time Disney fan and defender of "all that is Disney", I have had enough of these people and their attitude. Try calling Hilton, Starwood or Universal if you want to speak to nice reservation clerks. THEY apparently took their guest relation seminar seriously. The new motto seems to be that everyone calling is guilty until proven otherwise.

PS, I agree that extra adults cost more, and I am not saying that this particular situation is right or wrong, it's just the attitude I am addressing.

The rate $135 they quoted me doesn't even include tax. I asked them 3 times. I even ask them how it adds up to 135 if the earlier regular rate they quote me is $99.

The lady is just not helpful at all. I asked if other moderate resort with codes can be cheaper than AS. She just flat out cut me off and said, unless I specifically gave them the code, they cannot do anything. This, as we all know, is NOT TRUE. They could help me, but they don't have to. I have had others helped me out before. That's a step beyond duty. If she doesn't feel like doing the work, that's fine. I felt that she deliberately quoted me a higher rate afterwards.

Of course, I will be calling them back. But I just don't feel that this kind of attitude is good for Disney. I am going to write them.

CRO is the first line of Disney magic. And it's not there. We go to WDW over and over, because of the magic. Otherwise, it'll just another Six Flag. CRO needs to understand this. And it's unfair to all the other CM who tried hard to give us a great vacation.

I don't stay on the line with a rude CRO - I just call back. But, I've been lucky - I've almost always had great service.

They won't tell you codes, though. And, they won't tell you if a different combo of days will get you what you want. They will though (usually) stay on the phone as long as you keep asking questions about specific dates, resorts, etc.

I couldn't get CB, at first, this past May for the dates that I wanted with the code I was using. I was about to give up when I asked if 5 nights were available one day earlier. That, CRO could do! Good thing I hadn't yet bought my air fare!

Hold it!!!! In no way, shape or form is the AS worth anywhere close to $100 per night!!!!!! We paid $49- that was good.If it would be possible to change your trip to August, there are great codes and the Courtyard at DD for 20.02 a night- the 100 years of Magic Special and I believe that they will not charge for extra adults in the room.

go the Orlando Hotels and attractions board and see the thread "Courtyard Downtown Disney Questions".

i've been real lucky, a few times I got someone that was from MA so we talked a bit. then the others not from MA I always talk about the weather down there or some other thing, I guess I am just real lucky. Gregory yesterday help me change all my plans, hotel dates, PS and did it with a happy upbeat attitude. I told him " I am sorry for all the work, I bet when I hang up you are going to talk about me, he said, NO WAY< this is my job and we laughed. I just wish I got to see the notes on all the times I called, what was said, like I have said in the past, I am GOOFY so GOOFY better watch out for the competition.:bounce: :D :earsgirl: :earsboy: :sunny:

I am going to get the DC card before I start making reservations this time. Will I get better service making reservations though them than CRO? I've always used a travel agent and paid full price (all be it value season prices so it never seemed that bad). Wanted to do everything myself this time, but you've got me nervous!

The rate for 4 in a room is basically for 2 adults, and 2 children. The $10 fee per night is added when you have more than 2 adults over the age of 18. ($10 isn't bad. Just checked a hotel in Cape May NJ, and they charge $20 per nite extra for any CHILDREN over the age of 2!!! Plus another $20 per nite on the weekends!!!)

Whenever I used my AAA discount for a WDW ressie, they asked me for the AAA number on the phone, and didn't insinuate that I didn't have a membership. That CM was definitely rude, and uninformed. Unfortunately, you are going to have to call back, and get someone else to help you. Hopefully you'll be lucky!:):D:)

adamak- I just can't believe the price they quoted you was without tax. She must have misunderstood or was just being difficult. I did some math for you. If the rate was $99 a nite with $10 added for extra adult and about 11% tax ( or is it 12% at the AS) It comes out to about $122 a night. Somewhere their math was wrong. $135 is too high, but even if they can explain it, it MUST include the tax. I have never been quoted a price that didn't include the tax. Try again, and start by saying the last person was not helpful and you need things explained to you better. Many of the codes or the AP rates will get you a moderate for less than they quoted you at the AS. If you still don;t get help ask for the manager.

I agree with susy...no matter what happens....DON'T PAY $100, $110, $135 OR WHATEVER IT WAS THEY QUOTED YOU!!!!!!!!!!! Is that clear enough?;) The All Stars are a 3 star (at best) MOTEL. There are hundreds of hotels AS NICE OR NICER than the All Stars for half the price within 15 min of WDW. You could rent a car for a week and still come out better, but thats just my opinion.:D :p

That's ridiculous....Call CRO back and tell them you got a RUDE CM on the phone and see if someone else can help you. If the All Stars came with a LARGE bottle of Crown Royal, a blonde, a brunette, and a redhead, I'd pay $100 a night for it.;) :p Otherwise, no way, no how, no time, are the All Stars worth $100 a night. OK, I'm through now.:D

Cheers:) :) :) :)

I'm very sorry to hear about your negative experience with the CRO. :(

However, I agree with the other posters. Call the CRO back until you get someone that meets/exceeds your expectations for Disney customer service! You shouldn't have to do this (since ALL of the CRO staff should be trained in Disney customer service and monitored), but don't let them get you down. You're on your way to WDW!!!!!! :D

One question for everyone: Is the WDTC the same as the CRO?

Hi everyone:)
I just wan to add my two cent to this post. I for one have encountered many and i do many Funky acting CRo within the past 2 months about my trip and dining rsvp. I realize that they get tired from talking all day or whatever it is they do but, the funky attitudes are a no no with me:bounce: I had a cro who was very nasty and I let her know first of all you need to put your attitude in check--- second if it were not for people coming to WDW you would not have a job and furthermore if you don't want to do the work than give me someone that will because I don't have to deal with this:p I guess they forget they give their names at the beginning of each call because when i called her by her name and told her i will report her she freaked. Of course i would not try to get her fired but, i just let her know YOu do not treat people like this especially when they are spending theirrr money:bounce: after that she was sweet as pie and i got a CBR for 79.00 a night 8 day trip:Pinkbounc

ivrysbaby: Good for you! I also recently had a problem with cro, and I think they must of just hired a whole new crew, cause I used to like talking with the cro's. I wished I would of had your speech handy when I called. But I do write down there name as soon as its speilied off, and use it, just to let them know I have it. I believe I'm written down on their notes as "nutcase" & "frequent lunatic caller" But that's ok, you get a better rate & what you want, if you do that. ;)
