Not getting DISBoard emails?

I'm not getting them, again. They stopped shortly after the switch to the new server, then started coming again. Now it's been 3 days without any again.

My ISP isn't my e-mail provider - I use Yahoo mail and don't have anything blocked outright. Once in a while they will dump into the Bulk folder but I can still access them there. I am getting no DIS mail whatsoever.

I was advised on the CB to change my provider since the provider was the problem so I tried AOL, no emails then I tried my work provider, no emails. So now I am in limbo...can't post, can't receive emails...I don't even know if my provider is getting the info my provider requested I send because I can't get a response on any of three different email addresses. Can you recommend anything else to try?

Neither am I. I had the exact same thing. It all stopped, then I got it for a few days, and now it has stopped again. My provider is blocking them. Same with Yahoo. They are blocking them from even coming into their servers so they can't even get into your Bulk mail folder.

I am not receiving them either! The thing about our ISP not letting them go through I don't get. Since before the 'upgrade' we were receiving them, then after we weren't the boards said they were working on that and a few days later everyone started receiving them again. then like they were gone. I don't think anyone on thread killers united is receiving them either. So I don't think anything has changed w//our providers unless the boards change the way they are sending them through. They are not going to my junk mail folder either.

OK, now I'm thoroughly confused.... My "provider" is my local phone company, since I access the Internet through DSL (is that correct??). However I choose to use Yahoo for my primary e-mail accout. I go to the Yahoo web site to check my mail. As I said I have occassionally found DIS mail in the Bulk folder, but I click "Not Spam" and it starts putting them in my Inbox.

So, if I get mail at the Yahoo web site, how is my ISP involved???!

And on the same note, if Yahoo themselves is indeed blocking, WHY?!! I get some pretty nasty crap let through by Yahoo....why in the world would they block DIS mail.

SOMEONE?!!.....Help!

Would it help if I started using my DSL e-mail address? I have one, just don't use it much.

This is NOT an official DIS explaination, this is how my DH tried to sort of explain things to me:

The board switched servers so as I understand it (and I don't claim to understand it!) the emails are coming from a new "address". Since your ISP doesn't recognize the address but somehow sees it as a huge server it thinks it is spam so it is rejecting it completely. Now why it will let through emails from Nigerian addresses but not from the DIS I have NO IDEA--I guess Nigerian scammers have small servers?. But I think it is a long process of trying to contact each ISP and then try to convince them that we are not spammers and are a legit site and that people want to hear from us.

Again, this is just my DH trying to help me understand why I am not getting my PM notifications! And why it would do me no good to call Cox and yell and scream like I wanted to do last night!

Of course, I also can't get ANY emails from Disneyshopping.com. NONE! DH finally just had to subscribe to them at work and forwards them to me. My ISP blocks them completely. I get tons of other catalog shopping emails but it will not allow Disneyshopping. I still don't understand that one either. And if you ever need any weight loss pills or enhancement meds, let me know--I have sources!

I agree with you 100% regarding the slime Yahoo lets through. Porn - yes; Disney - no??? Can you see something wrong with this picture???? Anyway, I'll keep checking in with the Boards during the day.

Yahoo is still a service provider. They still determine what they will allow through their address filters and what they won't. At this time they have decided not to allow the DIS address in.

I agree, I would love to know why some things are blocked and some aren't. If anyone knows how this process works I would love to hear an explaination--just use very small and simple words an speak s l o w l y. I don't understand geek!

Yes, me again! I wasn't getting notification emails (at the same time everyone else was having problems this year, when something was switching over) and then it was back to normal and absolutely fine, but then the last 3 days or so I am back to no emails. There is a glitch somewhere! My email program with unfortuanately let anything in/thru so that it not an issue!

It would be nice if someone would post something on the tech boards so we actually knew why we weren't getting them.

As far as I know, MSN and hotmail have NOT recieved any notifications since the new server. Then as of Monday, yahoo, and AOL stopped getting them along with my "private" servers. Which if it is private, that means they have control over who they let and odn't, and still no disboard notifications.

Does anyone know who IS getting notifications?
