They can book a 20 day trip with a 21 day priemum ticket with free dining at a moderate resort for about 4000.00 USD and they get the apitizer included. No sure about the tip the site doesn't say one way or another. Oh yeah, The free dining for them starts on Aug 10 maybe sooner. I puched in Aug 10 to Aug 30 at POFQ with a 21 day ticket free dining for 2065 pounds.

I need to move to Europe.

Think about what they are paying in airfare to get here.

Air fare woudlnt bother me as much as the fact that its what about 9 hours on plane...ugh!!!! and actualy airfare deals can be had pretty good, i htink the flights over here are cheaper then us to go there..lol

And what about the rest of Europe? We all have a long flight to visit WDW.

I don`t know why this is, but UK always gets better deals, also in Disneyland Resort Paris.

More free days, better conditions, two months booking before the rest of Europa can.

And yes I did try to book thru the UK site but got no for an answer. I had to book in the USA.

I can assure you it doesn't feel like we get a better deal for our holidays, our prices get put up during kids vacation time, the flights can be extremely long and expensive, but even with all that we keep coming back because we love it not because we get a better deal :-)

As far as I know, the appetiser is not included with the 2008 free dining offer for UK residents.

As another poster said, it definitely isn't like we get a great deal. When booking through a UK travel agent, we usually pay over the odds for the tickets for a start. A basic package (including flights, tickets and dining) can set a family of 4 back around $5000 - definitely not what I call a cheap vacation ;)

I totally agree. I dont feel that we get a better deal. In fact, I have joined DVC because of the prices of our package holidays because the prices just keep rising! I have grown to tolerate the 9 hour flight becuase i LOVE disney but i would love a shorter flight - anyone fancy swapping their US home for a UK one??? :rotfl:

We have to fly also 10 hours, I'm trying to "beam me up Scotty", but that does not work(yet) :rotfl2:

The prices for the flights from Paris,Berlin.Amsterdam and Brussels are also expensive and sometimes very long so that does not explain the different in booking.

I still wonder why the have a separate booking policy only for the UK.

Never the less , good for you that you have these advantages on booking.:thumbsup2

Not WDW related but they also get Dr Who and Torchwood first season while I have to wait a year or two to watch it.:headache:

I'll trade you first runs Dr Who for first run Heros.

What about the Aussies,
We don't get any deals, have to pay about $2500 per person to get there and then we have a 25 hour flight!!!!

Always look on the bright side off life :rotfl2:

No seriously there are always people worse of them myself so I`m so sorry for you.

Hope this doesn’t spoil the joy of a Disney vacation for you.

I think what is unfair, is that if your vacation from the UK is only going to cost you $4k usd.....why on earth is it that I'll pay the same amount and I live in NJ?......something just doesn't add up.....we should have cheaper rates, as it's in our own backyard, so to say.....oh...and my trip, includes only 8 days and 7 nights at WL and I'm paying for the dining plan.

Because the exchange rate from euros to Us $$ is so much better than the other way around.

If you're talking about 2008, no the tip isn't included and we don't get a starter/appetiser.

Our airfares are very high, especially during school holidays so no I don't
think we get a better deal really.

We don't do the dining plan, so it works out a LOT cheaper for us.

There are so many other good restaurants in Orlando, the choice is fantastic, and also very much cheaper than in WDW. You also get to drive around and visit the area then too - which we like.

Plus if you do the DDP you are restricted as to when and where you eat every night.

I travelled on a fly drive from the UK to Florida in July. It cost me nearly £3300 for flights & car hire for a family of 5. That's about $6600. I then paid £900($1800) for accomodation for 3 weeks (& that was sharing villa cost with friends) and our 21 day theme park tickets were £700($1400). The cost of the trip was £4900 in British Pounds which equals $9800 at today's exchange rate. Okay we were there for 3 weeks but we weren't staying on-site and couldn't buy the Dining Plan so all our spending money was over and above this amount. Not exactly cheap but we are stuck with travelling during school holidays unfortunately.

I've bought DVC now to reduce the accomodation costs for the future (and get to stay onsite:yay: ) but I'm not sure if we Brits have it easy.

In saying that, I'm sure there are much better deals to be had off season....& one day I can take advantage of this.

That's definitely a good thing for the US part of the trip but we don't pay for our flights in US Dollars.

Just FYI, a London/MCO roundtrip August 10-30 is £688 or $1,375 per person.

Marcy Mouse, still wanna move to Europe for a "good deal" ?

You can’t blame American citizens for living there. That we have to pay for a flight is not there fault ,its something we voluntarily chose to pay for.:lmao:

I'm not blaming anyone for anything. :confused3

Just explaining that while it seems like we Europeans are getting an awesome deal because of the Euro exchange rate, whatever we can "save" once we're in the US is not enough to cover what was already spent on airfare.
