Is anyone else all tapped out...all the time?

I have 180 points, and I have used them all for this year, 64 left for 2014/15. I love Disney and I need to go more often. Spent all my points on a 2 bed for me and my brother, wife, 2 kids in May then a BWV studio for F&W. :confused3

Why don't they go further?

Yup. I only have 100 points, though. I need more. Getting a transfer from another member helps. Adding on would help more. But for now, an occasional transfer does the trick.

I don't know what enough is. But we have 1150 points and I had to borrow from our next use year plus rent 250 from another DVC member this use year. Definitely an addiction.

:) We have 210 and I have resorted to booking value studios at Jambo to get our trips in. We would love to do an add-on...just not ready yet.

You were generous to share with your brother and family! There are only two of us - we ONLY stay in Studios, and we've added on twice.

I have used our points from 2013 last year, and now we are out of points from 2014 and our use year starts Sept 2014. So, yet again for our trip in Oct of 2014 I will be waiting to see if there is an AP discount and see if I can book something on 9/1/14/.....we have 460 points and I need 400 more! :rotfl::rotfl:

We have too many.

We bought for an every other year trip when the kids were little and just don't enjoy Disney like we did. I'm doing HHI next summer with the Girl Scouts - renting from David to get the Summer reservation and then renting my points out to pay for it. Then, probably a trip we promised to friends years ago when their yet to be conceived son was being planned - he finally arrived and will be a good age. And then - maybe we will rent them out, maybe we will sell

I have 280 points and only have 10 left for this year and 13 I believe for next year. But we have 11 days in a 2 bedroom at SSR for Christmas. I could do more trips quite happily if I had more points though.

I've been saying I'd take next year off so I didn't have to keep borrowing but now that my currently planned trip is almost here I'm already thinking that won't work for me :rotfl2: Of course at this point I'm trying to talk my mom into using her 300 points for a trip to DLR next October since she's going with me on my points in December :lmao:

Our OKW points are for GV for ten days every three years, banking and borrowing... So we bought BCV and VWL for our yearly vacations, but alas, not enough to go twice this year. Need to manage better. :rotfl2:

We are only 2 of us, and we originally purchased 230 points, but quickly figured out we needed more, so we purchased another 150. When AKL came on board, we knew we wanted points there too, so we added on another small contract. Our 449 points total has been fine for us so far with banking and borrowing, but this year we are borrowed out to the max with an Aulani trip and our upcoming family Christmas trip with our adult kids.

I am NOT inclined to add on though. Our Annual maintenance fees are over $2000 as it is, and I am not inclined to add more of that expense now that I' on Social Security.

We have 470 and would love more, we certainly would find a way to use them.

But those MFs are a real buzz-kill when they come due, especially when they go up every year.

We have 300 and almost never borrow. We get there once or twice a year and are fine with that. Bought the last 30 point contract at BCV for$80 last year and with the prices all way up now, don't really have a desire to buy more. Plus DS 18 is now in college and any extra money is going to him for tuition.

We have 570. We have been taking larger groups (usually 10-30 family members) and sometimes have to borrow. We have 2 GVs at BWV for next May, using all our 2013 and 2014 points. I'd like to have more, but the fees are a bit much.

We are in borrow mode....and will probably be out of 2015 points by the end of 2014 UY. I'd rather be in Borrow mode or out, instead of paying fees for points I don't use, or try to get rid of points I don't need. We have transferred in points once already. Easy enough to do if you want to go but are out of points. You probably won't get your home resort (unless it's SSR) but it's an easy solution that buying too many points and be stuck paying MF's or dues for the rest of the contract. Sure it will cost more to transfer or rent than if you owned those points yourself, but you also arent' on the hook for a larger contract when your points needs go down.

I have plenty points I just can't use them soon enough. Got to wait until 2015 now :-((

We have a 150 point contract, and I only have 54 left for next year. We are on a constant borrow cycle, which means at some point we will have to either skip a year, or go on $$$ so that we are back to 150 the following year.

The 150 points have worked for us though as we have gone every year (just about) since 2004. We always do a 1 Bedroom, so that has stretched out our points quite a bit. Lucky for us, my parents just bought a retirement home in a Florida community that is about 40 minutes away from Disney. So, if need be, we will stay at their place in the future.

I don't think I will buy more points, although you never know. Our vacation options will be changing in another year or two as well, as our DD gets older it is going to be harder to take her out of school. I will not spend holiday weeks or summer vacation in WDW. As a New Yorker, I want to go to Florida to get out of the cold or extend my summer, I have no desire to spend a week at WDW in August :)

So - we have to see how our vacationing changes over the next few years.
