We're trying to plan a 2 week vacation in July and can't figure out where to go.

YA YA YA don't yell at me and say Disney - we're planning another trip for that :thumbsup2

we were thinking Pennsylvania, Vermont or maybe South Carolina.

We may split it into 2 - 1 week trips but we're at a loss as to what to do and where to go.

any ideas? - what is there in Pennsylvania - enough for 1 week of staying in the one hotel?

what about S.C.?

thanks.

We went to Willliamsburg Virginia last summer. It was terrific. there is something for everyone ... theme park, historical park, water park, aquariam, beach, baseball.

We enjoyed it so much last summer we're going back this July

I have spents oodles of time in PA... Philadelphia is a great city... lots to see and do in the area... the art musuem... the Old City (Independence Hall, etc.)... it's a short drive to Amish country (Lancaster County) and a day drive to the Jersey shore... the King Tut exhibit is in town... of course you have to get a Philly cheessteak too, lol. :thumbsup2

We've also been to Virginia Beach last summer, wow! we had a blast!!!

Many things to do, great beach, great waves !!!!!:goodvibes

I have to agree with the above poster (not my snowwhite, but you can never have too many snowwhites). Virginia Beach is very pretty and is similar to daytona beach in that you can drive on the beach. They have very nice hotels right on the boardwalk overlooking the ocean. All day long you have air force jets practising overhead, in the morn you have the navy doing exercises on the ocean and there is an army base there as well. Only had contact with them when I made a wrong turn into their base though....... When a guy with a gun pointed at you tells you what to do, my new motto is "just do it". I think I stole that one from somewhere.....:lmao: They have nice shopping and it is a very active and vibrant place to be. The only thing to be careful of is crime. The people beside us three stories up in the hotel had someone scale the building at night and come through their balcony door and steal there stuff and money. Lucky DW didn't let me keep the door open otherwise it could have been us as well.

We went for the first time this past year and it is absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend it!!

Tell me about Virginia Beach hotels.

I haven't been there since my honeymoon 17 years ago. S

Last summer we stayed at the Ambassador Suites, not fancy but way ok;)
It was in the middle of everything, right on the beach, only ocean view rooms!
2 doubles beds in a room a the other room at a sofa-bed, and a kitchenette that was really nice to make breakfast and lunch. We could have had dinner, but we wen't to restaurants every night for dinner.;)

My only complaint, maybe a bit noisy, we have 3 kids at that time the twins were 6 so they needed to sleep early (around 9 o'clock).

But for us to sit on the balcony everynight with a drink looking at the ocean and listening to the sounds of the waves FANTASTIC!!!:cool1:
