My DD is graduating 6th grade, and the teacher wants the kids to pick the graduation song...they also have to write a paragraph on why it's appropriate...any ideas?

We'll get this right back to Disney...How about "You've got a friend in me" from Toy Story. I think it's appropriate, especially if the kids have been together tsince Kindergarten. Happy graduation!

Both are good choices, but an outside suggestion is

FOR GOOD from the Broadway musical, WICKED! If you go about one minute into the song, the music and song really begin. It is truly beautiful and an appropriate song for a rite of passage such as graduation!

I'm in a strange mood today. The first song that popped into my head was "We Don't Need No Education." Yes, I know that's not the actual title, but now I can't get it out of my head. I'm sure it wouldn't get chosen, though.

Hate to sound like a traditionalist, but the song that means graduation to me is "You'll Never Walk Alone" from Carousel by Rogers and Hammerstein. Of course, it's probably a little difficult for sixth graders to sing.

"School's Out" by Alice Cooper?

There's a graduation song that Radio Disney plays the heck out of every June, but I can't remember the name. I'd ask DD6 , but if it's not by Hillary Duff or from High School Musical. I'm not sure she hears it.
