We plan on going on a cruise from Seattle to Alaska this summer. Cruising will be DH, DS(13), & me. We are most interested in good, quality food & good shows. (I.E. we would like fine food with the quality as good as/or better than CG, AP, FF & etc.) The teen club isn't that important to us, because DS isn't very outgoing, & has no interest in making new friends. Which cruise line has fine dining, good shows, & welcomes teens into any area, including restaurants, that adults are welcome? I know he won't be allowed in the nightclubs, or casinos, but we won't be going there either. TIA :)

I second the motion for Celebrity. My parents are cruisers, and food critics (Mom is a gourmet cook), and they have always enjoyed the food on Celebrity. They just took a Princess cruise in Dec., and did not enjoy it nearly as much. They two things they specifically mentioned that did not live up to their standards were the food and the shows.

Good luck!

Any other recommedations? We are thinking of an Alaskan cruise in the summer of 06.

My parents did the Norwegian Star from Seattle in June of 2004, and would NOT recommend them.

We did the Radiance of the Seas from Vancouver--they're not Disney, but the scenery to Alaska made up for it.

My sister, her DH, and another couple are going on an Alaskan cruise in 2006. Have much research and debating it they are going with celebrity cruises. They got a concierge class room with veranda for less then a deluxe inside room on Princess cruises.

We did Alaskan cruise with Princess (older ship, Regal Princess) several years ago. The food and service were fabulous!! Two attorneys I work with went did Alaskan cruise on Royal Caribbean (Radiance of the Seas) and both raved. HTH

We went on HAL's Amsterdam out of Seattle. Wonderful. And as HAL likes to point out, they were the first cruise line to go to Alaska. Very very close to Disney.

We sailed in Alaska in 2003. Although we sailed on RCCL I would recommend Holland America. They are the veterans of the Alaskan market and have all the best glacier routes. There are a few glacier areas and only a few cruise lines have the rights to sail in the best of them. Holland America has rights to the best routes.

Also, Crystal is an upscale line that does great Alaskan sailings. They also have a kids sail free policy in Alaska if the kids share the same stateroom. The service, food and ammenities on Crystal are supposed to be wonderful.

Have a great time!
