I am not crafty, but would like to make a personalized autograph book for my triplets. Any suggestions on a super-easy way to do it? should I just get the CM Mickey album? If I add extra pages, what's the maximum it will hold? I need QUICK and SIMPLE!

And, should I make one book or three? My kids are really good about sharing. This is their first trip to WDW (they are 5).

Thank you!

here's my 2 cents.... I think the CM Mickey album would be bulky, so I'd try for something smaller than that. I would also recommend different books....but that's the only thing that would be possible for my kids, LOL! How did you want to personalize them? And did you want to do anything with the autographs when you're done? (like add pics to them?)

I would probably do an album for each. They may be good at sharing, but the excitement of being the one to hold the book to get the autograph may change that quickly!

Try this link. These would be pretty simple to do. Plus, you can make it as big as you want!

You could personalize the front.

Good luck and have fun! :flower:

Thanks. Do scrapbooking stores sell the blank little books? I've never been in one? What do you put on the pages? Sticker? Die cuts (I teach school)? Any suggestions to put on the pages so the characters will really notice it?

Thanks!

triplefigs...Here's a picture of the two that I made for my kids last Halloween. I make them a new autographbook for each trip. Very easy to do. I take card stock paper in the colors I want and cut it into 4.5 x 6.25 pieces. Cut the number of pages you want. Once I get all the pages cut I took white card stock and cut out 4 poeces in the same size as the pages. These I used as the front and back cover. Then you can decorate them however you want. Then I take everything to Staples or Office Max to have them laminate the the front and back cover pages and the punch the holes in them and put the spiral bound coil on. Can't remember the price for them to do it but it's not very high at all.
Any questions, just ask away.

Thanks, Gina! Those are so cute. Did you print the clip art directly on the card stock or print it on regular paper and cut it out? Do you do one page per character or 2 (one for pictures, one for signature)?

Thanks! It helps seeing one done.

I used the spiral scrap book from walmart, I believe it was 8x6. On the last trip I just brought some different colored cardstock squares to sign and then I will scrap them later if DH ever gets the pictures developed. I put the pictures on the left and the autographs on the right. I'm also doing 3 books so I try to keep it simple in the beginning but you can always add stuff later. If you are decorating the pages before hand just leave some blank for unexpected characters.
Have fun collecting autographs!

On this set of books I printed the front and back cover on the computer. I draw a rectangle and then color it in white so there is just a black edge line. I make it about the size I need then print it on "quick print" so I'm not wsting ink. I take one of the colored pages that I've already cut to size and match it up. If it's not correct I just play around with it until it is. On other books I have used stickers and printed out clipart (cut out and glue sticked on). The book I made them for this past June trip I made a page for almost all the characters and left a few blank just in case. This one is the one they want to use for future trips to try and get all the signatures in. Also they only use thiers for autographs, no photos.

Very cool ideas.
DD just used up the last pages in her Disney Autograph book. It would be nice to do something a little different this time.

ok, here what i have done....

first and formost, make sure you bring a zig marker for the autographs!!! and make sure the marker is opened while you wait so you can just hand it to them...and also use the fatter tip, autographs come out much better!!!

i have 4 kids but 3 really only do the autograph thing...

i have bought the ones from wdw (one for each...believe me, even if they are good at sharing one of them has to hand it to them...also, it makes them feel better to know that they each have one). those worked out good, and you can always scan the autograph and print it out, and add it to the scrapbook later...also if you/they happen to lose them, it isn't like losing a scrapbook...and it does happen...we have lost one...

i have also bought westrim (blank, so i could fill them out later)(like cm...straphinge) 5x7 albums (3 of them)...those were ok, but by the end of the day, carrying 3 of them in the backpack gets very heavy. also, the characters just sign anywhere, and it could be upside down (happened to me) and when there are 2 there (like donald and daisy, or mickey and minnie) to move the line faster, the cast member helper might give the other a pen to sign your books with.

i have also just cut out plain white cs and attached them together in some way (like with brads).

disney is a crowded place, and it gets really hot inside those costumes, so they try to get through the lines really quick. they don't particularly like it when i march all my kids up there and want a picture of them all separately and then a group shot...you have to have a pic of them separately when you are doing separate books!!! but hey...i paid my money, i want their pics.

if it means that much to you to make a whole album before you go, then do it, but it is much easier to just get the small ones, and make the book later...your kids will love it either way...

i bought a mini photo album from target/walmart...(like for $1.99 or something really cheap!) and bought 3x5 index cards...had the characters sign the cards w/a sharpie...took pix of the character w/our DSs...so when we got back, placed the autographs in the slots of the mini photo album, put the pix of corresponding character in the other side, so when you flip it, you'll see the picture, w/the autograph...

to personalize...really simple! i just bought alphabet stickers in the red mickey font, and put their names on the front...and put in a dcl logo. and it's done! obviously, you can make it more elaborate! as you like. but this was so simple & quick! and of course, you can get various disney stickers to "embellishe" however you like, afterwards.

all this fit in a little ziplock bag, w/the sharpie, for easy carrying around the ship...(or park, or wherever...or even in your backpack!) it's flat, not bulky!

point to note...make sure you get the mini album that you can switch the front covers of...to personalize...unless you love the original pix that the album came in...

have fun!! :flower:

I love everyone's autograph book ideas! Momof2OH--where did you get the clip art? DH & I are big Stitch fans, and I would love to know where to find that one of him with the pumpkin for our October trip scrapbook!

triplefigs--I love your T-shirt designs! They are really cute! Good luck with your autograph book! :cheer2:

I am in the process of making autograph books for my upcoming trip. I found Pioneer 5 x 7 scrapbooks at Michael's. They came with 10 top loading sheet protectors, which I intend to use for other mementoes (such as extra fast passes, magical moments certificates, monorail pilot's licenses, etc.) I also bought a package of 50 8-1/2 by 11" plain white card stock. When the card stock is cut in half, it is the perfect size for the album (5-1/2 x 8-1/2). This leaves room to punch the holes. I am using the same program I used for T-shirts (PrintShop 20), but I know you have PhotoShop or PhotoImpact. I just set the "postcards" setting with my measurements, leaving a 1/2 inch margin on the left, and it makes two of the same page at a time, unless you tell it to only make one. I'm sure your program has something you can adapt. I just import clipart, add some borders and the name of the character in a font that I feel "suits" that character. After I'm done, I will cut the pages in half with the "guillotine" at work, and punch the wholes.

You can also order the album from www.pfile.com. I ordered the "Snapload Retrofit" from this site, which will allow me to add a lot more pages easily.

I plan to decorate the covers with stickers.

Thanks, everyone. These tips are fabulous. I have a question... I have the mini albums from CM that I bought 5 years ago :rotfl: Never used any of the $500 worth of stuff I bought at a CM party. I have all kinds of stuff unopened. so, will the mini albums work for autograph books since I already own them?

yes the mini albums will work...but i'd kind of do the pages and put a box where you wanted the character to sign...other wise they'll sign anywhere on the page and believe me they did...i brought plain scrapbooks with nothing in them and it is very hard to work around the autographs.
