Not All Treasure Is Silver And Gold, Mate - *Update 9-17* P60

Thank you, I am mega excited!

And I've been meaning to tell you, I love your new siggie. He's SO CUTE!!!!

Thank you! :goodvibes

I bought 2 Mickey head soaps from Basin back in January. The Disney blues are hitting me HARD after this past trip, so I opened one just today. I've never used their soap before this...wow! What nice soap!! The fragrance is lovely and I love the feeling of the soap and how much it suds. I'll be making it a regular stop from now on!!!

I really can't speak highly enough of their soap.

The funny thing is that the majority of what I bought in May with Tink no longer appeals to me scent wise, mostly because they're a lot of food type scents like cinnamon and birthday cake.

I'm more into citrus right now, so I'll be looking forward to stocking up on that when we go. They had a wonderful greenish looking bar that had olive oil, and it was a light citrus scent. I'm hoping I can find that again.

Yay! Congrats on your trip with your mom--I'm sure you'll love it! :goodvibes And I really like the fact that you all ate Dole Whips before lunch...I could really go for one of those before my lunch NOW!

I am in serious Dole Whip lust right now. With this pregnancy, I am all about citrus. Orange juice, grapefruits...I can't wait to have another pineapple Dole Whip float!

I was the same way when I was pg with DS. I went through a half gallon of OJ every 2 days. :lmao:

Glad to know I'm not the only one! I just started making DH buy two of the huge containers at a time. One barely lasts me a week. :lmao:

Oh, that's a bummer about the bars you already have! Hopefully they will be more appealing after the little pirate is born. :goodvibes However, it does mean you have a great reason to shop for replacements. :thumbsup2 And that green bar with the olive oil sounds WONDERFUL!!!

I was exactly the same way. Couldn't drink enough OJ! I was alllllll about the citrus!

You know, I have a great recipe for how you can make it at home. Are you interested, or would I only be helping your "addiction"? ;)

SOOOO interested! Do tell! Right now I make my sweet tea with a little over 2 cups of sugar and it's pretty close. :thumbsup2

All this talk of citrus has me craving OJ or at least an orange. :rolleyes1

Where were we? Ah, yes. On the quest for tacos, waylaid by the ever so lovely Dole Whip float.

Which really ended up being a nice appetizer for my favorite counter service in the whole of the Magic Kingdom, Casey's.

Yes. We ended up eating hot dogs and french fries. But any of you who know me well know that these are not just any hot dogs and french fries, oh no. These are MAGIC KINGDOM hot dogs and french fries, and therefore taste better, because they are being consumed on Main Street with copious amounts of ketchup and processed cheese sauce for my fries.

In short, I was in heaven.

And, this was the first place that we discovered DS was finally a good vacation eater! I'd been so worried about the children's menus at places, because the selection can be pretty abysmal. I have an adventurous son who doesn't want to eat some of the junkier far all the time, but this trip, he did so well on that menu that I wouldn't hesitate to purchase the dining plan for him. It was very exciting for us to have a well fed kiddo, let me tell you! It makes for a lot less cranky in your day. :thumbsup2

We sat on the bleachers inside and watched the old school cartoons, which I love, and which my DS happens to love as well. A boy after my own heart, he would prefer those to more current cartoons.

I think I may be a little out of order as to what we did next, but I can tell you that at some point, we ended up in Fantasyland. We got a fastpass for Peter Pan. We then rode IASW which was almost a walk on. Maybe a five minute wait just to get people down to the loading area. Afterwards, we headed to Mickey's Philharmagic where I ended up chatting up another CM. She wasn't actually working, and I don't remember her name, but she was very sweet.

She was in the college program, and catching Mickey's Philharmagic before her work day started. I do remember that she was from Arizona, and she was great with my DS. Now DS loved this show, so that was awesome. And I really love that there's a 3D experience in Disney World that doesn't scare the ever livin carp out of you! It's so nice to have a tame alternative for the kiddos and we scaredy cat adults. :lmao:

We had to wait a little bit, because we had fastpasses for Peter Pan, but we also got fastpasses for WTP because the line was horrendous.

Now, when I write this all down, it seems like it only took a few minutes, right? But all that trekking around and the philharmagic can take up some time, to DS' belly, that meant it was time for a snack!

We go thim a popsicle...I'm almost positive it was an Itzakadoozie. I just love saying that, but I'll have to go through pictures to make sure. He did a great job eating it and we just sat down on a bench on the outskirts of Fantasyland, closer to Toon Town, got him in some shade so his pop wouldn't melt and just sat and relaxed.

I have to tell you, it's moments like those, when you're not doing anything, when you're sitting and watching the world go by, that really stick it on your memory. I can remember sitting there and feeling so contented and peaceful. And deep in the back of my mind I knew the family was due to arrive tomorrow and I was so wanting to make the best of this day.

When my DS was done, after I'd taken some cute pictures of him with his pop, I thought, let's just head over to Toon Town and see how long the wait is for the Princesses. It's possible that popsicle may have been bribery to get my son to meet them, I'm not sure. I don't remember the wait time, but whatever it was, it was too long for TK. We decided to hop on the train, which DS loved, and we got off in Frontierland.

Next up - Will DS be willing to socialize with the grim grinning ghosts? :hmghost:

And really, any reason to shop is good enough for me. :thumbsup2

Sorry it took me so long, but here it is.

I got this from allrecipes.com, so if you want to look it up online, it's called Smooth Sweet Tea.

I seriously need to make some myself, I had the McDonald's one last night and now I'm craving it!

Ingredients:
1 pinch baking soda
2 cups boiling water
6 tea bags
3/4 cup white sugar
6 cups cool water

Directions:
1. Sprinkle a pinch of baking soda into a 64-ounce, heat-proof, glass pitcher. Pour in boiling water, and add tea bags. Cover, and allow to steep for 15 minutes.
2. Remove tea bags, and discard; stir in sugar until dissolved. Pour in cool water, then refrigerate until cold.

I find that this is actually sometimes too much sugar for me, so I cut it back or leave it depending on my mood. The baking soda helps cut down on any tart taste of the tea, and makes it a lot smoother, so that may affect how much sugar needs to be used. :goodvibes

I craved citrus when I was pregnant with Lily, but for me it was grapefruits. I ate 2 or 3 a day!! Yes, whole grapefruits. :)

I knew you were going to end up at Casey's! I went there on my last trip just because of you!! I have to admit that it was yummy! :thumbsup2

I know what you mean about those relaxing times. I love sitting and watching the people go by. It's just so great when everyone is content and happy to be alive!

I just love Philharmagic. It's the only 3D movie that my niece would leave her glasses on throughout the entire movie. The rest of them make her too jumpy. :)

Sounds like a perfect afternoon.

Awwwwwwwwwww

what a sweet update!

I'm glad Casey's fit the bill for your DS and the dining plan worked out so well, the kid offerings are a challenge to be sure. A lovely afternoon full of some nice quiet moments. It really doesn't get any better than that!

To even take the time to have a quiet moment, realize at the time that it IS one...that is a gift.

I must try one of these magical hot dogs soon! ;)

We are the same way. One of Connor's Christmas gifts from my mom was a collection of vintage Donald cartoons. We have been having such a great time watching them.

And I really love that there's a 3D experience in Disney World that doesn't scare the ever livin carp out of you! It's so nice to have a tame alternative for the kiddos and we scaredy cat adults. :lmao:

What 3D experiences scare you? Tough to be a Bug? Honey, I Shrunk the Audience? Muppet Vision? Just curious...you know Tough to be a Bug scarred my children for life.

I love Philharmagic!

Looks like you guys are having a blast. And I love how you take some time to stop and smell the roses...I am like you...I remember those times of just soaking up the best. :cloud9:

A well fed kid makes for a happy house. Well so does a well fed husband for that matter. My dh is very child like when he is hungry.

My Alexia is the same way.

Looking forward to the next update and to see if he is social with these fellows :hmghost:
