I am feeling better. I say that with the utmost of tentativeness because a couple of days ago, I was feeling absolutely wretched with morning, noon, and night sickness. More morning and noon, but you get the idea.
I think I've settled into a better pattern of eating which has helped, and I've also tried to get more sleep. Certain things keep waking me up and then I can't go back to sleep. Never mind the urge to visit the bathroom five times a night but the whether or not to take a weekend trip to Disney with Mom before the bean is born (should I really be spending the money on that), whether or not we're going to move out of our apartment and buy a house or condo, which town we want to live in.
Good lord. Life shouldn't be so complicated, but it is.
So let's, shall we, go back to a simpler time, when the only quest on our minds was the search for tacos.
Being that this was a DS sort of day, and we were feeling like generous parents, we asked him what he wanted to eat for lunch.
Tacos.
Okie dokie.
We head off to Adventureland, but no dice. The pirate dining facility is a no go, as it's not open. I swear, this is becoming almost comical with me, and I really didn't mind, with the exception that DS wanted tacos. (The last time I tried to go somewhere besides Casey's on our last trip, i.e. CHH, it was closed too.)
We headed over to Frontierland thinking, don't they have some kind of taco salad at Pecos Bill's?
They do.
But that's not what DS wanted. We know this because we showed him the picture on the menu and he said no way.
Well, he didn't so no way, but you get the idea. And he wasn't really cranky about it, it just wasn't what he was looking for.
Hmph.
We headed back over to Adventureland...don't ask me why...some siren call perhaps where low and behold, what to my wondering eyes did appear?
Captain Jack Sparrow in the middle of a rousing Pirate Tutorial!
Well, I had to stop and watch. Obviously.
And somehow, in all my zealous photo taking, I lost my boys. Technically, I didn't really lose them. DH took DS over to the other side of the tutorial so he could see better, as my son loves him some Jack Sparrow.
Who's surprised?
I was drooling...I mean watching...because this was the good Jack. I got some okay shots, but the one I wanted so badly, the one where he was almost close enough to touch, a gentleman with a follicley challenged head ducked right into my picture, right in front of my Jack!
ZZUB was that you?
At any rate, I didn't discover that until I got home, or they would have been more photos.
So while I lost my family, I ended up chatting with a very nice janitorial CM. She was doing her thing, sweeping up and we just struck up a conversation. She was so nice, and it was so nice of her to stop and talk with me. She told me that's one of her favorite things about her job. Unfortunately her name escapes me, but she really loved being in Disney, working in a place she loved, and getting to meet all different kinds of people.
As a matter of fact, she met a lovely family a few weeks prior. They stayed in the castle with their little girl, and at the time, she had no idea who they were. Although the CMs are instructed to treat celebrities as they would any other guest, she didn't find out until later that she'd met Tom, Katie, and Suri.
Can you imagine? I just think that's so neat.
Eventually, the boys located me, since I had moved back from the Tutorial crowd so I could watch Jack run past when it was over (said she who was no fool).
Now, what is a hungry family to do?
What do you feed the child who really just wanted some tacos???
Well, a Dole Whip, of course!
Hey, we were right there. And you know what? I wanted to spoil the kid a little bit before the grandparents got there and started stealing my thunder.
So yes. We had dessert before lunch, and it was dang good.
I had the pineapple Dole Whip float, and I think DS had plain vanilla. All in all, we were some happy campers.
I mean, who doesn't love dessert first on vacation?
