Not All Treasure Is Silver And Gold, Mate - *Update 9-17* P60

Hi TK...and clan

I'm Scrappie (Julie) and I just had to come on over and meet you after reading MRYPPNS (Heidi's) current TR and her hint to let you tell the fun story of your Dismeet and POC ride...

First congrats on your expected new bundle :cloud9:

and I am enjoying all of your TR thus far...you write so well and really capture the magic and pure fun that you all had on this trip...

looking forward to more and nice to meet you

Hi TK, I lost many of my subscribed threads and had tons of catch up reading to do, but I found you again. Congrats on the bean!!! :yay: My BFF from childhood still calls her daughter "bean" and she is 8 months old now! :goodvibes

I shouted it on your other TR, but have to here as well...

CONGRATS!!!

Your day at MK sounds really wonderful! I love those magical days where everything flows together nicely. I'm looking forward to hearing the details. :goodvibes

Hey guys. I apologize. I see that in my overzealous desire to share my pregnancy with those of you I count amongst my DIS friends, I managed to upset some other people who had no desire to read my thread but felt necessary to do so and comment on its lack of validity.

I will abide by the webmaster's decision to close my thread without contacting me as this is a public board, and their perogative. I guess if you all want to hear about my pregnancy, I'll have to work it in to my trip reports and other CB threads I belong to.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

We do (ok I do!) and I have to say, that is why I avoid the community board entirely. I'm sorry you had to be subjected to that. :grouphug:

Sorry you had to deal with that!! :grouphug: Whatever happened to "if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all". Like it was hurting anyone. I would've enjoyed it - I love pregnancy stories. Now that I'm done having kids I love to live vicariously those people who are still experiencing all that wonder. I'm hoping that you'll keep us updated within your trip reports!

I'm looking forward to writing about it.

I just have seen other pregnancy threads before. I remember specific people having them, so I had no idea it would pose such an issue.

Sorry you had to deal with that!! :grouphug: Whatever happened to "if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all". Like it was hurting anyone. Yes. Could we all be a little more like Thumper? Minus the twitterpattedness, of course. :lmao:

I'll try to keep you guys updated when I can. :goodvibes

Or...I love going with just the three of us.

This was a day to top all days. I think, in the history of all our Disney trips, I will look back at this as one of, if not THE best day ever.

There we were. In the Magic Kingdom.

In our tie dye shirts. Me wearing the one that went perfectly with my blue tiara and my blue Disney birthday button.

Now the very first thing, DS wants to ride Buzz Lightyear. Okie dokie, off to Tomorrowland we go. Now I don't remember exact scores, but I have to tell you, I was no slouch. And boy, did DS have fun. OMG, he had so much fun.

From there, we headed to the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. For those of you who operate on old school philosophy (which I usually do), that's the Wedway People Mover. It was sort of weird to go through the TTA and not be able to see Space Mountain, and also to see the huge mess of construction in front of Space Mountain. This is one of my favorite rides. I don't know why. It's not fancy or fast or a lot of bells and whistles, but it's classic, rarely changes, and...it just is. You know what I mean?

We also had a little ZZUB moment and let DS take our picture on this ride. He didn't do too bad, but let me tell you about the heart palpitations I was having letting my four year old hold my camera on that ride. :lmao: I did make sure the wrist strap was tight. :thumbsup2

After the TTA, we headed over to the Speedway, where the boys had a minimal wait. I chose to stay to the sidelines and take their pictures like last year, and I got some adorable photos of the two of them. My son looks so proud when he's driving one of those cars, I just love it.

It's almost hard to write about this now. Just yesterday, DS was saying to me, I like Disney World. There's lots of stuff to do and rides and pools.

Oh. Boy.

So I said, do you want to go again? And he said, YES!

Ha. Ha. I know we'll get there eventually, but new baby means it's going to be a while. That's okay, though. I just need to keep in mind, that gives me plenty of time to save up for a really, really good trip.:thumbsup2

From, the Speedway, we headed back to the Laugh Floor. I guess our method of attack was really to focus on one land at a time, and just go all out! What a blast we were having, with DS wanting to do everything!

We did get singled out during one of the sketches because of our tie dye. They made a comment about us not knowing how to do our laundry, it was real cute. I get nervous about that kind of thing, even with as outgoing as I am, but since I didn't have to talk, it was pretty cool. All I had to do was look all tie-die-y. :lmao:

I am sorry your pregnancy thread was closed, TK :(. I was so looking forward to it! I do hope that you will dish about it here on your TR!

Your time in Tomorrowland sounds divine, and while it may seem like it will be a really long time before you are back there, I bet it flies by! What age are you planning on taking your little princess (or pirate)?

I can't believe they closed your thread. I've seen so many of those threads over there but what can you do? I hope you tell us all about your pregnancy over here! :goodvibes

Sounds like a wonderful time for you all. DS seems to really be getting into the Disney spirit!

Hmmmmmmm??? I wonder if a certain holiday card picture was taken on this day??

I have fallen woefully behind in all my subscriptions. I saw mention of your exciting news on another thread and couldn't wait to come over here to officially say CONGRATULATIONS! What happy and exiting news! Count me in as someone who would love to follow along with you. Sorry there was some kind of issue over on the community boards.

OK. Now I have to catch up on your trip. In the meantime... MERRY CHRISTMAS!! :santa:

It IS amazing how much can get "done" without numbers of critical mass. Time to do lots AND take in the details. I savoured the moments I could run off and do my thing sans kids last year.

I love your story of the speedway merriment. And speaking of which, you and yours have a wonderful Christmas!!

This was just the beginning to a truly amazing day.

Alright, you all heard it here first. The general idea is for DH and I to go again with our kiddos in 2012. Baby would be about 2 by then, depending on the time of year, and it's our tenth wedding anniversary.

I'm hoping to stay somewhere really, really nice. :goodvibes

He was really getting into it, and that was so different from previous trips in that he wasn't just along for the ride.

:rolleyes1

Thank you! And I'm totally behind as well. I think it's the season.

Merry Christmas, hon! :santa:

You too, Merry Christmas! :goodvibes

Sounds like some fun in Tommorrowland! Here's my 2 cents (probably worth even less than that) - I think you should go in 2011 with the kids. A 1 year old is easier - rides, eats and sleeps in the stroller, isn't afraid of characters, and is much more easily distracted (i.e. - not as stubborn as a 2 year old ). Then in 2012 make an anniversary trip just you and hubby. Being your 10th it will be easier to guilt someone into a long weekend of babysitting.:rotfl:
But you've been with your son at all different ages - you are much better at it than I would be.
Have a wonderful Christmas!!!

Well...

I loved the update. Always do.

And I am still...more than 24 hours later...really mad about that thread.

So...I hope you will tell us all about your ups and downs and tell us all of your great stories as you do so well...right here on your TR or PreTrippie.

:goodvibes

When we wore our tie-dye shirts to Animal Kingdom in 2007, Wes Palm told the kids it looked like Dad did the laundry. :rotfl2:

WELCOME!!! :welcome:

I've heard good things about you, my dear. :goodvibes I'm happy to have you here, and thanks on the congrats.

aww...thanks...sorry your pregnancy thread was closed...:confused3 but I too wouldn't mind some sharing here. I'm done having new little one's too so it's fun for me to re-live it, well at least the fun parts ;)

and have a Merry Christmas! :santa:

You know, I like your idea only because it has me going twice in a row! ;)

Honestly, I don't know what we'll be able to afford, and depending on how progressive this little one is, my feeling was, taking a two year old could be easier. There's the potential that they're potty trained, they're on regular food, and they do get more at that age. That was a great age with my son, but every kid is different. :goodvibes

Thanks!

And I'll be happy to share with you guys as long as you want to hear it.

After not sleeping much last night, I'm trying to take the high road today, and I'm thinking of starting my own blog. If nothing else comes of this, that was a very good suggestion.

I'm happy to share the fun parts and gloss over the not so fun stuff. ;)
