Not All Treasure Is Silver And Gold, Mate - *Update 9-17* P60

I forgot you named your car Calypso! So cute.

I have never had a massage, I've had facials but I really want to try out a massage. As I get older, I freak less about people touching my body as well. Older and wiser and all that jazz I suppose.

You are a brave woman meeting DISers in a bathrobe! :rotfl:

Hey, Leslie! That's a great idea! Let's meet up at the Pangani Trail in our robes. Just think how shocking it would be. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I think you'd like the massage there. They do a really good job.

And it wasn't planned to meet people in my bathrobe, it just sort of happened. :lmao:

Besides, if I had ignored them when they walked in, they would have known I was the rude woman in the bathrobe who didn't say hi in the spa. ;)

I had a spa weekend with my sister in law in March 2005. Best weekend ever.

I know you enjoyed it! It sounds heavenly.

Tink and I have been doing girls weekends, and I'm thinking next year (if we can't make it to Disney together) a spa weekend would be awesome.

That's exactly how my DH refers to you...."Kat from the DIS" :rotfl2:. It's not like I have any other friends named Kat, but I think it just stuck with him from one of the times you called the house and he answered the phone....men

One inadvertent slip, and I'm now Kat from the DIS.

Ah, well. There are certainly worse things. :lmao:

Spa...pedi....that reminds me that I have to do some research :rolleyes1

Yes, in this area, I defer to your expertise. By the by, I have a wonderful GPS that DH got from his mom. She thought it was broken, but he fixed it, so...I'm ready when you are. ;)

Ahhh a spa afternoon :cloud9:
I need to try the GF spa...

Ooo, you would love it. You so need to try it.

Kat, it was such a pleasure to be able to meet you and your mom!!! It was a great afternoon!!!

I have been to the GF spa twice now and loved it both times! So relaxing and rejuvenating!! LOVE IT!

I loved meeting you as well. :goodvibes

:lmao::rotfl: Maybe we can get zebra print ones?

HA! Now that would make for an interesting Photopass photo. :thumbsup2

I wonder if they could catch us on film with zebra domes in our zebra robes and use in an ad campaign. :confused3:lmao:

Ahhh! I'm feeling so much more relaxed just thinking of a GF massage! They really are just wonderful. There's nothing at all like being pampered a little bit.

Yes, pampering is sooo good.

Your description of your citrus-scented massage makes me long for one of my own! :rotfl:

Well, Jackie, it's only a six hour + drive, right? Totally worth it. ;)

I used to be wierded out by massages, too, but now I love them! Maybe that's what I'll ask for for my birthday...:rolleyes1

Your spa time sounds wonderful... and you got to spend it with your mom. :)

I've been to a spa once on my honeymoon. That was it. I've had a few massages from my bosses wife who is a masseuse because of my back acting up.

How cool to meet a few DISers too!!! Hope there is an update about MNSSHP! :goodvibes

That's a riot actually but talk about an ice breaker! I would love to try a massage or facial there. I had a pedicure and it was nice but I wasn't overwhelmed...for the price.

Girls spa weekends are the BEST!

Sounds like such a GREAT day at the spa with your Mom!!!!!

I'm glad we did that. I say that about a lot now, but I really mean it.

Oh ye of little faith! LOL The MNSSHP "chapter" had to be broken into three separate parts, that's how much I have to say about that. :lmao:

I was totally underwhelmed by my pedicure experience, which is why I didn't discuss it. Mom had a great one, the woman doing mine was a little rough and seemed to rush. So, it could just be luck of the draw.

However, we noticed that day that the nail polish was chipping. And let me tell you...we're not hard on our feet. I have pedicures at home that last until I remove the polish myself, so I wasn't thrilled that perhaps the brand of polish they're using (now that they've switched management) wasn't the quality of the OPI they'd used previously.

Sounds like such a GREAT day at the spa with your Mom!!!!!

It was an awesome way to start my day, that's for sure. I loved that massage.

:goodvibes

There is definitely something wrong if a pedicure is chipping the same day. When I get them done at home they last ages. At least the massage was great.

We ended up calling later to voice our concerns, and part of our treatments were comped, which was nice. But still. I'd rather have paid full price and had a good pedi, you know?

I don't blame you at all. At home I don't think twice about going back to have something fixed, but on vacation it's not really an option.

Th spa part of it was nice but almost excessive on the variety of creams put on my legs. Just a little unusual. But we had the same experience with the polish, both of us but especially Kendall. Not to mention it was a very limited color selection which didn't go over well with a 12 year old. I wouldn't get one there again. I often find the pedicures at the basic nail places is better, from a polish perspective, than the spa ones.

The shame of it is that before they had a change in management, they used to use the Jurlique (all natural) facial products, and the OPI polishes, very high quality. I don't know about the facial stuff now, because I won't put anything on my face but Jurlique. With the exception of these pregnany hormones, that all natural product line has worked wonders, and I've got rather nice skin as a result.

Nana was just mentioning to me this evening that she needs a new manicure place (she used to go to a particular place with Mom and I think it's too difficult for her right now), so I'm going to try the place in my town that's got an excellent reputation. I tihnk you're right about having more luck at home.
