Since this is the first time I have done anything in the way of a trip report, I thought I would start off with these pictures of my family at WDW in 1973.

This is the core family that traveled together again in 2008, 35 years later with an additioanl 6 people added to the group.

Meet my Mom, Dad, sister Sharon and me, Sheilagh (I'm the taller of the 2). Don't you just LOVE our outfits! This is taken at the Poly. PS I still have the hat.

When my parents set us up on the wall to take our picture, for some reason I wanted to touch the flowers. Guess what - they were fake. Needless to say, I had to yell that to my parents!

We stayed at Fort Wilderness. The wildlife got up close and personal to us!

I hope you enjoy this bit of nostagila(sp?).
I will be doing a TR of our October trip and I am hoping to start one of our trip from Apr 2008. I hope you all enjoy!

Oh goodie. I am glad you started the report. The pictures bring back lots of memories. We were first there in 1974. My girls were 3 and 5. You can see my current report to see them now and how we did a surprise for birthdays and first visits.

Thank you for sharing, I wish I had photos of my trips as a child, but my family was into Polaroid, so they have all gone black or faded.

:thumbsup2 Those are simply AWESOME!!!!
Thanks so much for sharing. Love the clothes, those cars in the CR parking lot, the old school Mickey! How different the park looks now from the top of the CR.

LOVE the pics!! :lovestruc That old Mickey Mouse looked kinda crazy....:lmao::rotfl: But cute!!

I love when members take the time and scan old photo's and show us.
Thank you.
You must have went just a few years to WDW after it opened.
WDW is celebrating 40 years in 2011.

Do you see that boy in your last picture, carrying a fake shot gun?

Love the outfits.

I wonder in 30 years, if our kids will be posting pictures of us, and wondering what our parents were thinking---"how we dressed them."

I figured after lurking around everyone else's TRs that I would try and do one of my own.

I have been enjoying reading your TR and looking forward to the next installment. :)

These are actually slides my Dad took and scanned into the computer. Now that he's retired he's into all kinds of computer and electronic stuff. It is fun to see the way we used to look and dress.

I know, isn't it great! Before we went down again last April, my Dad found all of the old pics and we printed a few of them out to be able to compare what it looked like then and now. What a difference!

This was actually a test for me knd of. I wanted to see how it was adding pics into my messages. So I thought I would give everyone a chuckle and a remember when.

It's funny that you made a comment about the clothes are parents put us in, because my mother sees some of the shorts and shirts that are in the store these days and comments how short they all are and then I whip out these pics and show her what SHE dressed us in. Kind of skimpy huh. :rotfl:

We were there in April 1973 for Easter and the park had only been opened for a year and a half by that time.

I'm here! What great memories you guys made. Looking forward to reading the true trip report.

I don't think they are exactly the same, but they still sell them in frontierland. My three year old grandson wanted one in April, until he held it for a few seconds.;)

OP, thank you for posting the pictures, I am looking forward to your trip report!!

Oh, my gosh -- thanks so much for posting these -- they're fantastic! As a fan of the Fort, it was neat to see those photos, too. What a trip down memory lane...

Hi Lisa,

Glad your on board, I am hoping to start my "real" trip report this weekend. I'll let you know when I start.

I'm glad you enjoyed the "old" pics. New ones soon to come.

Somewhere my Dad also has pics canoeing at the campground and of us swimming in the lake there. It's fun to see how much stuff has grown and changed at the park and resorts!

Great pictures! Amazing to see how much the trees have grown in the area too!
