not a fan of fast pass plus

Today was just a fluke... I'm sure those kiosk lines will dissipate as folks become more educated thru osmosis....and people will realize the long FP lines are simply illusions....and that Disney is being generous with 3 FP's to start because per the T&C they could give you less.... Or maybe not.

Tapety tap tap tap..

I didn't think anyone used FP ...so now I don't know what to think? :confused3

And off-site guest will have no problems getting FP+s the morning of at the kiosks after entering the park.! They have nothing to complain about!

The idea of a throw away room is starting to sound even better. Is it true that you can get FP+ for your whole ticket even if you only have a one night stay? After "waking up at the crack of dawn" to make it to RD, it would be worth $100 to not have to stand in a 20 to 30 minute kiosk line to get any FP+s! It would be this summer we invite a good friend and their family to travel with us after hearing us rave for years at how great FPs were and that because of them Disney was better than any theme park out there!! :scared:

I booked our first onsite stay for next month. Now I kind of wish we would have just went to Universal. We have always stayed offsite, and wanted to see what it is like. I hope this doesn't ruin it for us. Maybe it will be a little better the end of February :confused3

Because what it really needed was my particular brand of vile negativity! :rotfl2:

Not necessarily....I just thought you would find it interesting. I think my response can be be summed up below...

I'm sure that's a relief to all the toddlers out there today. ;)

Our time difference stops us from ever making rope drop but the advantage is that our 4 and 2 year olds are still going strong at 11pm and the park can be so quiet for the rides for them. (plus they are so excited to get to be out after dark!)

Wow those pictures are nuts. This isn't even a busy time. We've gone this time in the past and it's actually pretty slow compared to many other times. What a mess...I don't know what they were thinking, the old system was fine. Due to this fastpass+ stuff and the rising prices, we're actually really considering doing a Universal trip next year and I'm not a fan of Universal at all, but sometimes I feel like ppl. @ Disney are literally getting paid to annoy their paying customers.

I would think all off site would book at least one night at a value to get access to FP+ for their trip. It is well worth the $100, but honestly it is still a mess. I guess it at least helps you avoid the kiosk.

I have a feeling those Fort Wilderness campsites that start at $49 a night for up to 10 people are going to be booked solid in the very near future.

I posted this on another thread, but it totally applies here...

We go to Disney every year and would usually go to Universal every other year. That said, the last few years our trips to Disney have shortened in length and we now tend to stay longer at Universal going every year. Most of this is due to the outrageous cost of park tickets at Disney and the fact that Universal utilizes Express Pass for their resort guests. Best perk ever. It makes life at the parks enjoyable and much less stressed, as it should be. Limiting the amount of fast passes at Disney is ridiculous as is this new magic band system. It's just Disney trying to control and limit our experience while making more money.

We may skip the onsite trip to Disney this summer altogether in favor of staying at Universal which is starting to offer more perks and entertainment for less money. I am a Universal annual pass holder (have been for 5 years) and I feel that I am most certainly getting more than my money's worth with Universal. Wish I could say the same for Disney. I am becoming a total convert to the "Dark Side." :cool2:

I am just beside myself at this fastpass+ and all the horror stories. YES, there have been some good experiences from some, but I am betting the bad is now out weighing...

I'm considering other Orlando entertainment, and that is heartbreaking for me because I want to give my littlest a true Disney vacation week! Standing in lines and feeling rushed is not my idea of fun.

We have until November, so I am just sitting here, impatiently waiting for WDW to pull their heads out of...:surfweb:

I probably wouldn't stress, but we never stay onsite, we always use our timeshare. Family of now 6 plus bringing my oldest DD's boyfriend who has never been to FLorida, let alone Disney.
We enjoy having a kitchen, being able to cook our meals and have more room with all these bodies. :)

To my question after my rambling, DO YOU ALL COMPLAIN TO WDW???? You may feel it is wasted, but if they get enough feedback, who knows...

I just hope something changes for offsite guests. We still spend plenty of $$$ on multiple ADRs with every character/princess available. We come home with plenty of WDW plastic bags full of sweatshirts, hats, toys, candy, etc...

To you regulars, with all the comedy, thankyou!!! Just when I feel too much yuck,I come to one of your sarcastic/funny posts, and find myself laughing instead of crying. :worship:
To quote Laketravis, yes, it is "sad, so sad, its a sad sad situation"... (loved that bcuz I use it all the time with my kids and they have no clue what I am singing)

The other bad thing for casual guests. The Mk guidemaps do not mention FP plus or show FP plus kiosks on the map. But they still show legacy FP attractions.

Its really bad show.

The solution is more attractions. But that can't be fixed right away. I think they put the cart before the horse on this one. Because of limited ride capacity, there has never been a "way out" of this mess.

The Disney solution is going to be interactive standby lines.

Come summer time, the "interactive standby lines" are going to interactive by people fighting because they are hot and grumpy from standing in lines!

I have to call tomorrow to change the dates for our May trip, because of a work obligation that came up.

After seeing these pics and reports of those coming back ,I think I will talk to my friend about changing our trip, for her teenaged DGD, to Universal.

She loves HP anyway, and I think I will have a hard time being excited about our trip to WDW.

I sure hope this mess gets better! I have a trip planned for October with my DGS, maybe we will change to DL for that one!

We experienced a FP return line this long at BTMR during one of our previous trips. The ride was down and people were hanging around to waiting to use their fastpasses.

Wonder if this was the case today as well.

No it was just that long a little over 20 more minutes but splash is down for rehab so that may ease it up some.

Line was solid from boarding to fast pass gates. Around 22 total. 8 more minutes from FP gate to FP gate.

They are going to have to turn down number of fps. But then there will be none left for day guests.

At the end of the year it will be interesting to see if attendance goes up at Universal and down at WDW. I am another one who has been going to WDW yearly for the past several years because I can stay off site. I was thinking about going back in the fall, but for the cost, I will take another cruise(non disney). I am not saying good bye to WDW, but I will not go as often if this is how FP+ is going to be.

:confused3

I believe the answer to that question is ..... you !?

Oh, I am not the only one...I am pretty sure that any one considered not one of the FP positive (a saracastic play on words, have you) crowd all pictured this a long time ago.

The thing that this does "prove" though, is that just because everyone on the DIS doesn't necessarily use FP, doesn't mean A LOT of people don't.
