There's probably been one of these threads before, but since I'm new I'm going to start one.

What rides/attractions do you miss that have been changed or taken out?

What rides/attractions have been made better? Which have been made worse?

Personally I miss Captain Nemo or whatever it was called (the Michael Jackson 3D thing that's now Honey I shrunk the Audience).

I miss some of the old Epcot rides even though in their latter years they would constantly break down :). The one that's now the Space ride (although I like the Space Mission a lot better heh). The GM ride that is now Test Track was fun too ;). They definitely made the Energy ride better with Ellen being incorportated. And this might be all in my head, but was there a ride in the Sea?

I miss Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

I miss the skyway thingy that went across the park. Although I understand they took that out cus someone fell out of it.

I thought Alien Encounter was pretty scary when I first did it, but am eager to see the Stitch thing.

Btw did they make Pirates of the Carribbean shorter a few years ago or is it just me?

I think some good additions have been the Buzz Lightyear ride and the Indiana Jones ride (even if it is only in Disneyland). The ARnRC is great too!

And even though it's Universal, I always liked the King Kong ride, the Hannah Barbera ride, and the Alfred Hitchcock thing (although the Shrek 4D is great!). I have to say the MIB thing is now the best thing here (although I haven't been on the Mummy ride yet).

That's all I can think of now :).

I miss "If You Had Wings" that was once in the Buzz Lightyear ride spot.
I miss the old Journey Into Imagination at Epcot.
I miss Alien Encounter.

Yes, I do believe there was once a ride in Living Seas. I remember that I told my daughter all about it before a trip once. Then we went in and there was no ride.

MK: the skyway buckets, especially the way my macho husband would turn green (tee hee). I miss the 20,000 leagues under the sea, Mr. Toads (although I like the replacement, Pooh, a LOT so that's probably a wash) and the little cinema on main street.

Epcot: Food Rocks, the original Journey into Imagination, tapestry of nations parade, and the original Illuminations

MGM: I miss the unobstructed view of MGM.. get rid of that stupid hat!!!! and the original backlot tour

At Epcot, I miss horizons and the original Journey into Imagination. At MK I miss the ride that was where Buzz is now, although Buzz is much better. Also miss, Mr. Toads Wild Ride and 20,000 Leagues. At MGM I REALLY REALLY REALLY miss The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Doug Live, and the character dinner at Soundstage.

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, and If You Had Wings.....

:D

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride - They should have put Pooh where Snow White is.

Skyway - There's nothing like seeing the MK from above, especially at night.

Journey Into Imagination - Nothing beats the original attraction. Changing that was the biggest mistake in Epcot history.

Mickey Mouse Revue - Mickey's Philharmagic is the first decent thing Disney's put in there since MMR closed in 1980.

Diamond Horseshoe Review - Sorry, but they shouldn't have changed this. It takes away from the whole concept of Frontierland. Besides, it was fun!

Monster Sound Show - Drew Carey's Sounds Dangerous is awful.

Main Street Arcade - For those who never saw this, don't picture a modern video arcade. This was an arcade with hand crank movie machines, one-man-band machines, fortune teller and arcade games from the 1950's-1960's. This was always our first stop in the MK.

I think that Ellen's Energy Adventure is a big improvement over the original. Her humor really mkes it

I really miss Discovery Island

hehehe...my FIL wanted to go to Discovery Island last week...we told him it was closed and he didn't believe us...a CM up at the AKL conceirge had to tell him it shut down about 5-6 years ago.

I miss Journey into your Imagination. We were in a gift shop at EPCOT and I saw a stuffed Figment and I picked it up and hugged it...my 15 year old SIL asked me "who's that?" oye! heheh

I should have bought it! Ah well...I'll get one in January!

I love that line!

I agree with you on these and also the Magic shoppe that was right next to the Main Street Arcade, I remember the first trip to the Magic Shoppe when th WDW first opened, In my own opinion the Magic Kingcom had enough retail space without deleting these to Main Street attractions

I was going to ask the same question, glad you do it for me!

I miss: Journey Into Imagination (especially the Dreamfinder), Captain Eo or however it is spelled, Tapestry of Nations, World of Motion

Things I am glad they changed: Ellen's Universe of Energy!

Things I wished they hadn't changed: Journey into Imagination!

Tapestry of Nations/Dreams, World of Motion and 20,000 Leagues under the Sea - as a kid that was so COOL! oh yeah, and the short ride in the Living Seas, just made it more of an adventure!

OH - bring back the Wildhorse Salon at PI!
It was the ONE bar down there that DH would sit at for hours!

Let me add another. My DD8 was a big fan (one of the few) of the Atlas film in the Living Seas. We were disappointed to see it go but love Turtle Talk with Krush even more . My only concern is that with that exhibit, the Shark exhibit with Bruce and thw other exhibit with Clown Fish, Blue Tangs, etc., Living Seas is just becoming a Nemo attraction. Nemo is a favorite movie, so that isn't a knock on the movie, but I think Living Seas is losing its character. At one time, I thought it fit in well with the original FW theme, not so sure anymore.

Oh yes, wdw4us2, I forgot about The Diamond Horseshoe Saloon show. I miss that too!!!!
